Foggy Dew (Tin Whistle) 

This was my late Grandfather's favourite song, he whistled it all the time. It's so nice hearing you play it. Brings back memories.

As a boy my uncle inherited the tin whistle that had belonged to his GGrandfather. He played it all through high scchool in the Marching band, It went with him to War in WWII from Gudalcanal to Okinawa, through many assignements in South America after the war and with him to Korea where he Commanded and Infantry Battalion for the duration of the war. Sadly it was broken by one of his children a few years after he returned. He always spoke fondly of it til he passed in his 90s.

Those whistle harmonies are flawless, I love it.

What an absolute throwback to childhood! I am a flautist and I've recently got into folk and whistle playing and having played a range of tunes I don't think any of them have as much depth and melancholy and feeling as the Irish ones, I love them so much
