Quick tip. When walking out with your board. Grab the tail by the handle and lift when the wave comes at you and drive the nose down when the wave come at you. It drives the board under so it does not pop up and accidentally hit you in the face. When the board pops up is when it’s most dangerous.

Hey Paul & Crew.. Thanks heaps for all the tips and tricks for Foil Drive surfing - very cool..👍 I'm just exploring my options, and haven't really had the opportunity to discuss Foil Drive with anyone in my local area - the far south coast of NSW - I've only ever seen one guy using them, and he's having a bunch of fun! Anyway, it was awesome information from you guys 🙏 and with my birthday coming up very soon I might finally commit to the next stage of my foiling journey! Cheers.. Billy 🙂
Hey Billy! Glad you're having fun and happy birthday :D The NSW Foil Club is really welcoming, not so close by but a great crew if you're looking for some foil love! - Caitlyn
Great tutorial Paul! I've also just experienced in the last months in Morocco how great the J-turn works. May I add, that it is amazing also in bigger waves that would normally scare you. It kind of gets you going on waves in which you'd probably need towing in. I am using the J-turn now at Lake Garda on short wind chop to learn how to Downwind. Works great, since going straight you'd hit the chop in front of you and fall sooo many times😅..like I did. I like my 90cm mast very much in waves. Cheers Stefan

Hoping to get a foil drive for assisted Winging, take offs & offshore wind conditions making my Wing choice a little smaller. Would love to see some videos & tips on use in conjunction with Wingfoiling. Thanks guys the product looks awesome.
50 Minutes total time in the water with 17% battery leftover. worth noting filming is very inefficient, you spend a lot of time circling back and zooming back out to the break to get as much footage as possible :)
We offer a premium, performance based product with top service and adaptability and the price reflects that. If we made it any cheaper we'd have to sacrifice part of our offering. If you can get your hands on a demo from a local dealer we'd recommend giving it a go :) We know our word is bias but plenty of reviews out there if you need your arm twisted!
Thanks Paul, such a comprehensive clip. A couple of questions. 1. what did moving the box forward give you? The other thing what's the width of the JL 4'11" 44L
Typically, setting the box to the back is better. Moving it forward can generate more lift due to it's position but it dies require more technique and weight to keep the nose of the board down. Masterclass in this coming soon!
I was hoping to see more prone takeoff techniques and more info on how best to position the mast/box on the board so your feet don’t need to shift motor on/off. The J-turn was awesome…will have to try that. Great video! 🤙🏽
