As the inventor of the Large Hadron Collider, the Boeing 747 and sparkling water, I am jealous of this design. It's simple but works perfectly. Every room should have one! Thanks for sharing. (Oh, and I invented the 'n in Rock 'n Roll)

Overall it’s a decent table. If you’re not using it for big heavy projects. Its gets unstable when using my jigsaw and handsaw. Table starts to shake and lifts off the ground. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?Also the folding mechanic works great ru-vid.comUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh when setting up, but I can’t get the table to fold down. It gets stuck 3/4ths on the way down.

Great design. I'll be using a solid core door for the top that was removed from a school that was replacing all their doors. Door weighs about 100 lbs.

That's an awesome bench and I am going to build it. I built a small garage for my wife's car and find that I use it myself for woodwork a lot more than I thought I would. So I need work surfaces that I can fold away. That bench is perfect. Thank you!

After searching for months online to find the most suitable folding workbench for me, your design and its ability to be stowed away to allow 2 cars in the garage was quite ingenious. It is heavy but the provides for its sturdiness. Thanks again for the inspiration to build a functional tool that is going to get a ton of use.

Dude, very awesome. I have been racking my brain for a solution like this. I wanted a bench I could store on the wall fold down and also remove to use as an out feed table but was stumped for a way to mount it to the wall that still allowed me to move it to the table saw. As with most elegant solutions very simple in action. 👍

Craig I want to thank you for a great design for a foldable workbench. I just built this table with some adjustments for my needs. I built it with 2" x 3" laminated top (60" x 30)" and I had to make one set on legs narrower so they would fit inside the opposite legs. To make it more stable I used Rockler removable casters so table legs would contact floor for more stability. There is no movement width wise but to eliminate the little movement length wise I added notched (dados) at top of legs and used 2 stabilizing 2"x 3" like is used in the bottom of legs. This is a great design and can be adjusted to fit individual needs.

ive just built one almost exactly the same. Thanks very much for the idea. I did have a hardwood glued up benchtop, but it was too heavy and too weak on the glue joins. So i caved and bought the top from bunnings, and its much better. Thanks again for the design.

Hi Craig I recently built the bench after purchasing your plans. It is absolutely brilliant works well and the plans were well prepared easy to understand. I would recommend this bench and I note from Etsy site where you can purchase the plans that a guy called Mike said do not buy the plans as they are incomplete and not straightforward. What I would say to Mike is you are talking from your backside and you obviously have no common sense. The plans are well laid out easy to understand and follow' Well done Craig

Great bench, simplistic, functional and efficient design...

Now that is a clever workbench design. Top job!!!

I watched your video and thought it was a great idea for having a full sized work table that you can store out of the way. I made a little change and designed it using two metal tubes to hold the legs at 90 deg. I wanted to use a 3/4" plywood top which would need a couple of cross supports for support in the middle and the long stretcher would get in the way. I designed this for a friend who has very limited space in his urban back patio. I don't know if we'll make it or not but I really like how it looks on "paper".

I would pin nail a sheet of 1/4" masonite {cheap} to the top surface and when it gets worn, paint spattered etc change it out every year or so thus protecting the sub surface material. Again good on ya mate from the Great White North.

I made this and it is fantastic. The only problem I have now is the laminated bench top has now warped and is no longer flat. I’m going to replace it with 25 mm plywood.
