I have the Snap On light, and I use it daily as a fork lift mechanic, if i broke mine or it quit working I would be on the phone to my dealer for a new one asap! The extra magnets on the back are great, its light weight so it doesn’t make my pants fall down when its in my pocket, my only complaint is sometimes it turns on by itself in my pocket if it gets bumped on the switch, it needs a more recessed or guarded switch, but this light is great.

I too have the snap on, just used this past weekend. Magnet’d it the stabilizer bar while changing my rear differential fluid. Let there be light!!!

Personally I'll probably buy the Milwaukee because the cool white (blue ish hue) does me no good in auto body. Plus the wireless charging dock is much better to me than yet another thing that needs a cable plugged into it

Just hate when I use the 800lumen side with it folded out and need it to fold downward i can't. Feels awkward and have to flip it the other way

Honestly love the snap on design but most important feature to me is color-temperature. Milwaukee’s Trueview is by far the best I’ve found in terms of neutral/accurate color.

A few guys in my shop ( including myself ) have the snap on light. The battery's are decent if you turn down from full brightness. But the main drawback is the power button. 2 of us had the power button break in months. The dealer got us new ones under warranty and we have not had issues since.

What I would like to know is run time, durability, battery and led degradation. Which one will be useless first? The Milwaukee has an advantage by being able to swap batteries out, so question is how much life to expect icon to last? I usually get 3-4 years on snap on lights.

Exactly. Also is the battery user replaceable? Otherwise the light is disposable.

Anything beats the little purple ones Matco sells. Pure trash. it just falls apart instantly lol. I've had the snap on one since last yr and I love it. I like the tip light especially for looking into tight spaces in the engine bay.

I don’t have this exact snap on light, I have the one with the UV light on the end with the magnet on the opposite end. I love this light. I’ve been using it for 3 years now and have no complaints. It’s been soaked in every fluid common to diesel shops and has not started to break down yet. Milwaukee has a problem with a lot of their tools being too big. I have the m12 stick/flood light and it’s great for flooding light into a big area, but the lack of magnets and that stupid awful hook made me retire it to the back of the tool box, even though it was my first “shop light.”

Milwaukee does have a lifetime guarantee on the light. But not on the battery.

I have Snap on, maxxeon, and that icon light. The icon is by far my favorite, super bright three different light modes and oh the fold down IS THE POCKET CLIP :D

Check out the Astro 525L 500x2 lumens, it also has a pen light on the end @ $48. Very bright! It is a large light and there is no pocket clip, single magnet on the end. IMO, the battery life isn't the greatest. However, I tend to forget and leave it on when I get coffee, etc... You may want to add battery life to your assessment in the future. My Braun (Hobo Fright) folding light has switch problems. Not sure I would buy one of those again? I will check out the ICON. I have had good luck with other HF ICON products.

I read up on the manual last night. You just remove one small screw and the guts slide out. It is replaceable but it was not clear if there was an internal battery holder or if the battery had solder tabs welded on the ends. I will probably buy one this weekend and check it out.

the Milwaukee has the rechargeable magnetic dock kit for $160, makes that Milwaukee light much more attractive, i will be adding it to my snap on tool box lol (i dont like fiddling with usb cables) i even converted my pixel 6 pro to be magsafe compatible for that sweet magnetic wireless charging

Saber is what I use. They make the best quality lights I've ever used with the longest life. Its a 80448 the one I use.

I have the harbor freight Braun love it because I can change out the 18650 batteries, I also have the Icon it’s a great light but a hate anything using USB charging.

No mention of battery life? I am unfamiliar with these lights but I LOVE lights where you can remove the battery and swap it out (for a standard battery like an 18650 lithium no less) So, buy the Icon, glue on neodymium magnets. Save lots of money - Copy.

80 bucks for 200 lumens is laughable end stop. Check out any other form factor of lighting and you'll see this to be true. You can spend 40 bucks for an LED conversion on a 30 year old Maglite and get 200 (or more?) lumens.
