Good video.. I ended up with the set of craftsman horses ..on sale at lowes just under 18 bucks each.. good for around the house use.. and yes the clips on the side is for attaching the pair together more compact and easy handling 👍
love that you are talking directly to me. love the truck and the rack you built on it. looks great. would like to build something like you built in the back of the bed. i'm not a contractor or even a handy man but love watching your videos about you work ethic. i'm starting to try and do some small projects around my house. thanks.
That rack is the most satisfying thing I've put together in a long time, mainly because I use it every day and it never lets me down. I'm thinking of putting something slightly different together for my other truck, but we'll see if I can find the time and $$ ... anyway, great hearing from ya man! :)
A nice, practical, in the field real world product comparison of an essential construction tool from a hard working tradesman who just needs things to work well & be durable. I wish all reviews were this straight ahead. Just bought an actual pair of ToughBuilt TB-700C's, which I hope will go the distance as I try to build a sustainable homestead to see me thru to the end of my life. They seem to have all the features I am going to need, and they appear to be reasonably rugged. I guess we'll see pretty soon...
Subscribed love it when i search for something and you find the video that explains exactly what you needed and thanks for being someone that takes the time to collect all these products from different companies and tries to narrow down the differences. Thumbs up 👍
Not very portable but the best sawhorses I've ever had were homemade. Two square frames connected by hinges. Set on their side so looking down they form a V. Put 2 together with the points close and when you cut a piece of plywood it doesn't fall and tear out.
I've since figured that our thanks to helpful comments like yours. They click together nicely and are much better to carry that way. I like the little guys :)
It's time for another sawhorse showdown. There has been a multitude of sawhorses introduced to the market, and we, the viewing audience, need an update. Thanks!
Saw your Forup horses you returned. They are very similar to ones that Harbor Freight Tools sells. HFT's has a screw point to keep the bracer from coming off and HFT's height adjustors look better. I loved the fact that could tuck them away on a shelf. I did add small magnets to the legs to hold the bracers in place while I store them. I know people dog HFT but sometimes they do have some good tools for the money.
The black clips on the Craftsman allow you to connect two saw horses- makes it easy to carry a pair with one hand. Look a little closer, you’ll see how it works.
I have the Stanley version of these. And to attach a strap of wood, what I’ve done is drilled a simple screw hole at each end and sit the wood on top and screw it on from underneath. It’s only a 2”X3/4” strap, so it’s on there permanently and doesn’t get in the way when folded and transporting them.
I have those yellow ones that you think are OK but I think are just garbage. They have the same problem as the first cheap ones you showed, the tab gets bent, they aren't stable, sink into the dirt and I would say don't waste your money on those with so many better choices out there.
I use a pair of Dewalt DWX725 workstands, lightweight if a bit pricey....an advantage is the available clamp on brackets ( like on your miter saw), I can mount a tool such as a 12”disc sander or belt sander to the stand.
We use those yellow metal saw horses at work all the time. We welded them open because we routinely put 600+ lbs on them. And they’ve held up really well over the years with no signs of wear and tear other then minor paint scratches. I have the wooden ones at home. I don’t like them because I’ve had the legs kick out one me of they’re not setup super straight. I’m looking to go with a different style.
Welding those yellow ones open would definitely make them secure ... for life! cool idea. if I had another pair I'd do it as the steel is thick enough to hold a weld. thanks man
Hey great comparison. I have the yellow steel set and have put 15 3/4” sheets of plywood on them handled it great! On concrete of corse. I am going to look into the craftsman set looks like a great work surface set
Hi Spencer, thanks for posting this really interesting. I've got the tough built ones (c650 I think) and they are fantastic. Expensive but worth it. One quick note about the black catches on the Craftsman silver ones, it looks like the clips are to fix them together in their closed position for transport. Thanks for the videos!
You need to try the Jawhorse by Rockwell. 10 yr warranty. It is are unlike the rest of those. Not cheap but also won't let you down. Heavy but with built in wide wheel for moving around. It is more of a clamping solution than anything else.
Ya know, I think you told me about it before and I still haven't taken your advice, but I did try out a copy of it at ... ehem! ... Harbor Freight. After I sell a few of these folders off I should buy one. Sounds awesome. I don't mind paying for a good tool that will last and last :)
@@metaspencer hunh, didn't know it had been copied. I'll have to check that out. What'd you think of yours? So many things let me down but my Jawhorse rocks. You should do a video on when is the best time to get good prices on tools & where. I was going to buy a 12v Dewalt drill/driver set last year for like 79-89 and now it's like 150 and I sooOooo wish I bought it back then. But prices should not double in a year. Maybe 10-20 percent increase. I just realized my aldi's li-ion 12v drill, a $30 cheapie, went out. The front bearing has more play in it than all of the major leagues. ( I was abusing it by having it drive a plumbers snake. Guess I learned the hard way that was too much for it. Lasted like 3 years. ) I see the driver on sale for $99 at fleetandfarm.com, milwaukee brand. But its also the 20v one and I'd kind of like to stick with the smaller, lighter 12v models.
@@johnpossum556 I went online this past week to look for a new, smaller chainsaw and found wildly different prices around the internet ... then finally found the saw I was looking for cheaper here in town. So yeah, those price fluctuations are really annoying. A video on the topic is a great idea ... :)
The black clasps on the craftsman’s sawhorses allow you to attach both of them together to carry them with one hand. Flip one on its back closed and set the other closed one on top and the clasps will lock them together. I have them and I drilled holes through and attached 2x8s on the top rung. Hope this helps
Yes! I knew someone out there would know. Just tested it out and it works perfectly. I'm thinking I'll try attaching a 1" strip of plywood first, then move onto a 2x2 if that's too small. Cool to hear your ideas and mods, man.
Great video. You should email tough built and see if they will send you out a set. I knew if you gave them a honest good review the might get themselves a few more sales. I'm definitely leaning towards the green ones after your review
I've had some bad experiences with a Kreg folding work table, so haven't tried those horses. I'm guessing those horses are pretty solid and I see very few one-star reviews on Amazon.
I have a set of master force saw horses and the adjusting legs suck mine are all jammed up I’ve tryed lubricating them and that didn’t seem to help other than that I have liked them up until that point
I bought 2 sets of saw hourses at a auction 1 set is made of wood non folding the other is 💯% plastic some whorpage I don't remember the brand i only paid 2$ for both sets they ended up at my sister's house my brother n law used the snot out of them & that's pushing 20yrs & big party's & a sheet of plywood great table lots of food regardless they been holding together they have seen better days we do got some folding ones at work there heavy and will do some damage to your fingers if not careful (like loose a finger) I think they would hold a small car this is my 2$ worth of options lol what's your thoughts on my saw hourses
hey metaspencer nice video i saw you use a skilsaw i just picked one up for 79 bucks elecrtic skilsaw. i wonder if iv should of bought the one for 100 bucks there 7 1/4 do you think the one of 79 bucks is just as good let me know. thanks for your video. im picking some saw horses soon.
Well, you're asking a guy who used a $5 used skillsaw for the first 10 years of my woodworking career, so I say go with the cheap one and see if you outgrow it! In fact, I've had a few expensive skilsaws and they weren't that much better than the cheap ones. Good luck with it!
Hay man how u been um have question is it true if u someone eat to much will day die because my girlfriend got mad at me and she yelled at me because she doesn't want me to eat to much what do I do about eating habit
Hey man! Always good to hear from you. It's good to eat smaller meals for sure, and you want to keep a healthy weight. I hope you get it under control, man! You can do it!
