Folio Society unboxing time as I unbox every single edition available for A Song of Ice and Fire. This includes books 1-4 which are, A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords and A Feast For Crows. A Dance With Dragons will be available in the future as well. These Folio Society editions are immaculate and I couldn't be happier to unbox A Song of Ice and Fire here today. Illustrations for these editions are done by Jonathan Burton.

People continue saying money doesn't buy happiness but every single day I find myself disagreeing. In all seriousness, beautiful editions, with a huge attention to detail. I really hope I can afford them in the future for the (inevitable) reread!

You’re wrong. The product is causing the happiness. The fact that you buy it is irrelevant. If you were given it for free you would be even happier. So, money actually reduces the total happiness.

⁠@@anapoda3081 how is that fake happiness? If you're only happy while opening it, it's not for you. Most people who buy are still happy with it while reading it. Happiness doesn't need to be permanent to be relevant. Going out with friends and having fun, it's only for a few hours. So what? Who are you to tell people that they're happiness is fake? I mean liking your own comment seems to make you happy. Work.

I was literally hunched over my keyboard pausing to catch all the details. The doors for the House of Black and White on the cover for FFC - astonishingly beautiful. You're an official book dragon, you have a hoard of precious books!

SO BEAUTIFULLL!!!! Fun story: a few years ago I was in a local antique/rare books shop and there were these super awesome volumes of ASOIAF that I'd never seen before. So I touched the box one volume set was in and I slid one of the books out to look at the cover to try to determine what edition it was... and the guy working there came over & was like, "Oh, please don't touch those. We're renovating & these should be behind glass. They're super rare and expensive." They were the signed Subterranean Press editions lol OOPS!

It’s a dead falcon on volume one of AFFC, the moon represents the moon door, the dead falcon is Lysa, the mockingbird is Petyr. This set is incredible, and look amazing covers out for my zoom background. Also, I am so happy they made the chapter headers different for each alias ie. Sansa and Alayne have different chapter headers, Queenmaker and Princess in the tower, Iron Captain and The Reaver etc.

I absolutely plan on picking up all of these asap. I adore this series to death and honestly these are absolutely breathtaking editions. I have so many different editions of A Song of Ice and Fire it’s easily my favorite book series of all time even with it being incomplete. I can’t wait to add these to the collection excellent video as always.

Best series of all time for me. I have the first 3 of the Folio editions. Can’t put into words how high quality and beautiful they are, almost don’t want to read them to avoid hurting them. Just subscribed so I can listen to your reread, it’s gonna be fun.

The really good thing about folio editions is they are deluxe but are built to be reader editions. It's a very Folio way of doing things, they want their books read and to be admired.

I've only got the first so far cuz it comes out to about 400 bucks in my currency (thanks exchange rate). But without doubt the best books FS have ever done. Though I think mine had been 'pre-loved' (it was a return I guess) because it already had holes in the corner bits where the map folds. Since then in the handful of times I've unfolded and then struggled mightily to figure out how in the heck to refold it, it's torn at all the seams and I've had to resort to cellotape to patch it up.

Love this set! Finally got the funds saved up to get all four. Random question. Would you say they packaged it well enough for shipping to handle the weight of all 4 at once? Or would you suggest ordering 2 orders of 2? I’ve never ordered from them but their shipping in videos seem to be well protected.

Definitely worth it if you are a fan of the ASOIAF series. The Folio Society edition is the best version, in my opinion. I'm fortunate enough to own all 4 books 1st editions.

Are these... readable? I'd love to buy them but I like to read my special editions rather than have them purely for display. Is the printing on the covers fragile? For example if I'm handling it a lot, will it flake off or scratch easily?

I had seen the first book They had not given rich illustration Very less illustration in book 1, when you separated 1 book into 2 there should be so much illustration expected
