50yr old male here officially diagnosed about 4 months ago, but the diagnoses answered a lot of questions about why I’d been feeling so badly. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve felt myself. Anyway, after 3 chemo treatments I was expecting to feel even a little bit better but my symptoms have gotten worse. Mostly overall fatigue, body pain (muscle and joint), weird body temp stuff (like being absolutely freezing for no reason)and those damned night sweats. Last night I went through 4 tshirts and had to change my sheets because the sweat was soaking the towel I laid under me. It doesn’t help that , like I said above, I get freezing cold. It’s a nightmare. Anyway, I know everyone is different and this disease hits people in different ways but I have respect for anyone that has to deal with this BS.

Our family just discovered our loving 70-year-old mother is dx with follicular lymphoma-stage 2, just 6 months ago she was dx with chronic HepB with cirrhosis, osteoporosis, along with a few other chronic reversible diseases that we have been working on reversing with a strong plant-based diet, with no animal products. My family weighs my opinion high because I worked as a clinical hospital pharmacist and the only one with any medical knowledge. Because my mother has cirrhosis and NHL, I would like to ask for a second opinion for an expert pathologic review but ideally would like to find an oncologist that can help my mother recover in a natural way, without any harsh treatments. As a pharmacist in a clinial setting, i've seen the effects of immunosupressants, some saving lives, and some not so much-- I know my mother's weak body cannot handle any more medications. Would this be possible?

I am hoping that once CAR-T is approved (later this year) and the technology continues to mature, CAR-T will become standard induction therapy even for non chemo refractory indolent lymphoma. There's a good chance that for many patients it will be an outright cure.

Have them biopsy one. For many times lumps on my neck were investigated as thyroid problems and my dr only looked at blood tests. He did not really know what he was talking about. Finally another doctor insisted I get biopsy of the lump. Non hodgkins lymphoma was found they could treat it. I do not want to scare you , it could be nothing but do not give up until you have a biopsy result. Ideally ask for full biposy, not just needle aspiration. Good luck

How about treating cancer as a metabolic disease (rather than a genetic disease)? Correct the cause (the deficiencies and toxicities), and support the immune system (rather than injuring it further), using things like the ketogenic diet, reduction of stressors and and correcting hormonal and vitamin imbalances? These chemical therapies just are not working well and patients are suffering. Please study nutrition and how cellular energy works in normal and cancerous cells. The cancer industry and pharmaceutical companies may not make as much money, but patients will have a higher quality of life and maybe we can get the nations debt down a bit.
@gymnastm1
@gymnastm1 6 лет назад
How would treating follicular lymphoma as a metabolic disease act as a treatment might I ask? Follicular lymphoma is caused by a gene translocation ( t(14;18) to be exact)and as a result, you have overexpression of the bcl-2 gene. This gene prevents natural cell death of B cells (cells that are located in the follicle which is a part of a lymph node). All unhealthy cells should die naturally and when you don't have this natural cell death, you see a malignant (cancerous) increase in size of the lymph nodes. Eventually, the lymph nodes are so saturated with these cells they are no longer functioning properly as immune system protection sites. Based on your comment, there just is no way that diet is going to change a gene mutation.

Look up Johanna Budwig. She was a scientist with a PhD in physics and later when she was around 50 years old she went back to school and got her MD license. She healed thousands of cancer patients over a 50-year period with a 90% cure rate. Her therapies included certain organic foods, mixtures of cottage cheese and flax oil, exercise for those who were able to, massage with specific oils, small portions of each day spent out in the sun, and other natural and organic methods. She went to the hospitals and often took the sickest cancer patients, stage 4, and maintained her 90% cure rate. She was nominated seven times for the Nobel Peace Prize but was pressured each time to include chemo and radiation with her natural therapies. She refused and thus never received the Nobel Peace Prize. She was the first one to speak out about the dangers of trans fats. The food companies and pharmaceutical companies took her to court 30 times and she won every case. There's another doctor Gerson that I've heard also had great success with natural therapies. Look up the Gerson Therapy. There are people all over the Internet and RU-vid who are telling their stories about how they conquered cancer with completely natural methods. They are not selling anything. They don't own companies that are trying to sell natural anti-cancer methods. They're just trying to get the word out to help other cancer patients learn that there are natural alternatives. Doctors earn thousands of dollars in kickbacks for each single chemotherapy treatment that they give every cancer patient of theirs. I read an example where a doctor might pay a pharmaceutical company $5,000 for a single chemo treatment, then they'll turn around and charge the customer $12,000 for that single treatment! I've just been diagnosed with follicular b-cell lymphoma so I'm still learning about Dr. Budwig. God bless Dr. Evens for searching for non-toxic treatments for cancer patients.

@@vwdances , I did try this but burst into permanent several cysts in neck, groin, and abdomen after awhile. Someone said that Lyme patients should avoid any kind of oil treatment so I was concerned about the flax. Did improve extremely dry hair and nails, but I think I'm too far gone for any other treatment. Was never diagnosed but did get a few broken spinal and rib bones for no reason, lost 100 lb in few weeks, have thyroid nodules, pituitary adenoma, having problems with eyes after getting a frozen face on both sides, deformed bones all over, massive night sweatsm shirt fevers, and so on. They think it's metastatic breast cancer but I didn't have a biopsy for many years so am not sure because no MRI detected that before. Synovial cyst in spine recently exploded. Both red and white platelets have been dropping for ages now and have high calcium. Am on antibiotics now for all the cysts plus a really sore throat and ear fir a few weeks. I think that whatever it is, is going to the brain now not just because of frozen face and sore ear but also because of sore throat, worse eye focussing and a bit of memory deterioration, (but only forgetting names). Have Lyme and Epstein Barr. Back and ribs break repeatedly on same spot or else I badly damage muscles or disk slips from the compressed spine. Made extremely loud grinding and popping noise a few months ago. Low oxygen, fast heart rate, massive exposure to radiation and agents orange, white and purple in Canada. Will be eligible for an MRI early next year but only of head. Sounds like myeloma to me. Large lump under arm too but have had that for years and some days it is small and not detectable. Cysts all now turning hard. Family member had mycosis fungoides. Heart quivers sometimes lately but am not allowed EKG because I had one last year but no doctor will tell me if I have a bad heart or not. Have asked a half a dozen times. Too many health problems over the years which were just classified as immune system disorder for a few years. Not sure why they think this is metastatic cancer without a biopsy. Am esoecially afraid of biopsy now because they might have to do 25 different spots and after so much overradiation from accidents in medical tests already I don't want CT or Pet scan for sure so that's likely why they won't refer to specialists. There is nothing they can do. Sure wish DNA tests could tell. Unfortunately, no one has confidence in chemo because the poisons and extra radiation heal only temporarily and then come back with a vicious fury after a few months or years so those things seem to kill many more people than they save. This disease is just too complicated and would be too painful, expensive and harmful to diagnose.
