I started out thinking that I would create two abstract landscapes using my 5"x7" gelli plate but I ended up in unfamiliar territory. And I like it! Wander with me as I wax poetic on ways to get unstuck and refresh your artwork. Follow your impulses and find ways to play for the sake of fun and exploration. It might just give you an extra spring in your step.
I demonstrate how to keep going through the mess to end up with something that feels good. Don't let the time lapse fool you - this took a few hours and felt quite slow and effortful. And that's 100% okay. It's not supposed to come easily all the time. The more practice I have going through the creative desert, the less scary it becomes when I find omyself in a rough spot. Once we get used to these rough spots being a normal part of the creative process, they become a problem to solve - not a personal flaw - which is often a fun, satisfying part of the process.
