Just a quick follow-up to my last video about the customization of my Bushmaster mpw. Anything that compromises the mechanical integrity or operation of anything that fires anything should never be undertaken. Please learn from my mistakes

I know I'm late but the second hole is for the spring and detent for the rear take down pin. This is what is known as a captured takedown pin. The front takedown pin (the pivot pin) doesn't have one (a detent) therefore it pulls out completely. This shouldn't affect the gun firing. If you pulled out the spring and detent all it would do is allow the rear takedown pin to pull out completely just like the front one.

Just put a Magpul K2 grip on my MPW and it works great. Look at your original grip with a magnifying glass and you'll see the hole is countersunk. Just widen the hole on your replacement grip a few millimeters deep. The rear spring doesn't need a hole, just make sure the spring goes in straight when putting the grip on. As others have said, the rear spring is for the rear takedown pin so it doesn't fall out. Good luck!

Okay so what you're saying is I need to widen the hole but not make it any deeper?

@@knighthawk3759 Widen the hole and make it about 4-5 millimeters deeper. You don't want the steel pin to go too deep. If you have the original grip, use it for reference. Cheers.

I have the that same grip on my Bushmaster and A4-P, the UTG Sniper Pistol Grip. I had to make the first hole deeper and obviously make a second hole. What I needed to do though, is clip off about four coils on the first spring, that way it sits the exact same depth as it does with the stock grip. But like you said, my A4-P in semi, I had to pull the charging handle back every other shot. Not sure why this was happening, but as soon as I clipped off the four-five coils and reinstalled, works fine on both models. Must be something about the first spring needing to sit exactly at the same depth. I would recommend if anybody is reading this, if you install a grip and notice the selector switch is stiff or hard to turn, take the grip back off and make sure the two springs aren't crunched up and sitting exactly how they were with the stock grip. And you might need to do what I did i.e. clipping some coils off.

What other accessories have you done for you're A4P? I have put a couple Magpul parts on mine. A cheap stock from them. I want to get one that extends out so it can make it longer. I also have put a Magpul sling on mine with the sling points. You know like the QD points. I wanted to put a Magpul handguard for M lock system but it don't work or just not just too big I guess.

Just full in the second hole. And make sure the bolt or screw that holds the grip on protrudes the same and the stock one. The plastic on the aftermarket one is slightly thinner than the stock one. Put a couple washers on the screw to space it correctly. It will work fine.

Well that sounds like the internal mechanism that divides between single shot and automatic has a defect I would contact crosman directly they should be able to fix it for you or replace the rifle never had that issue here my only issue was the functionality of the safety after trying to install the new grip and I believe that was because the bolt used to hold the grip on was longer than it needed to be and I was over tightening if I try to do it again I will probably be using some washers to allow proper tightening without over tightening

@@knighthawk3759 Hmm, now I'm betting on a mag failure. I bought myself another magazine and will test it out soon. As for the grip swap, I did buy and tried to install an original Magpul's MOE K2+. Well, it won't fit Crosman's DPMS in Plug&Play manner. As you know, one has to either trim the selector spring or drill its hole. Just a tad deeper, but the selector won't even budge otherwise. And that's nothing in comparison to an awful hot spot this swap provides in the trigger guard area. It's much worse than using a stock A2 grip. Not to mention the gap. All in all, changing not the best A2 grip for K2+ is a downgrade 🤬 So it's not just this funky one. Magpul's aren't a good choice either. Btw, in DPMS's stock A2 grip there are two holes. One for the rear pin and one for the selector knob. Magpul's doesn't accommodate the first spring, but it doesn't affect the way the rear pin goes in and out. Kind regards :)

I also noticed the bolt that secures the grip, went further inn, and actually bottomed out against the gun. Luckily I noticed, and put a couple of washers on the bolt so it wouldn't hit. Have you found an aftermarket customized suppressor? I’m currently waiting for mine to be delivered on Tuesday and am ordering all my customized products from Amazon. I have 2 questions which have prevented me from “finalizing and processing the order.” Current;y I have the deep earth brown rubber magazine sleeves, the deep earth brown rubber hex pattern grip cover, deep earth brown bipod which is nice. HCosting me $119 but sale price is $98 and I’m saving $100 simply for becoming an Amazon Prime member. Anyway, also ordering really nice targeting electronics, red dot, laser, tactical LED flashlight, etc. I’ve noticed that Deep Earth Brown seems to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. It’s taken me hours to hunt down the caramel color I like the most and most closely matches the Bushmaster itself, and have been successful at directly matching the Magpul 2 Riflemans Loop two point sling, the Magpul Rifle Bipod, the Aecktech M4/M16 Magzine Protecto Rubber. So far, so good. But this here is where I need help. I need to deal with what are arguably the most important custom components and yet I’ve seen nothing online addressing these questions. First, the buffer tube is capable of accepting both the MS-SPEC (1.148”) and the COM-SPEC (1.168’). Obviously to make it more customizable with more options however, in doing this any buffer tube would at the smallest need to be 1.146”, which would mean that there would be the type of wiggle room and shakiness in a butstock with commercial specifications as a result of the 2 tenths of an inch required, that it would bug the hell out of me. So my first question is do you have a military or commercial spec but stock. I’m assuming that if you’re spending money to customize your stock that you’re switching out the original with one that’s got a more solid and tight, less shaky fit? If so, did you replace the original with an aluminum or a polymer? Would the aluminum ones make it too heavy or unbalanced? Would a MIL-SPEC but stock be supported by the guns polymer platform? If you have an aftermarket stock that tightly and securely fits the Crosman buffer tube? Second question, why am I not seeing anyone with an aftermarket mock suppressor. The one that comes with the gun is it’s one component that just looks horribly designed, a dead giveaway that it’s not an actual Bushmaster. My opinions aside, has anyone found an extended barrel, muzzle break that fits it, or is their no way to switch it out? I’m assuming that if it were threaded and was interchangeable with other barrels and realistic suppressors? Thank you for your time and any suggestions you might have.

You're not seeing an aftermarket Mark suppressor because the suppressor is integral to the body of this gun for the Bushmaster if you've ever tried to disassemble it you will see that it is chemically bonded to the upper and can't be removed it's simply a piece of plastic that goes around where the metal barrel is it's nothing that can be unscrewed or removed You would have to do some serious frankensteining to break that plastic piece off and put some type of other suppressor on it this is supposed to be a replica of the integrally suppressed m4 therefore you can't find anything for this one You can however find them for the r1 and the original black DPMS SBR as my other video shows as the r1 simply removes the SBR's Mock suppressor tip and replaces it with a metal flash suppressor or compensator depending on what you want to call it allowing for certain suppressors for airsoft to be fitted over the compensator as I show in my other video.

Also to answer your other question I did not replace anything with the buffer tube as it is also integral to the upper I have not removed that it is the same plastic buffer tube however if you want to get a tighter fit on any type of aftermarket mil-spec stock I suggest you get yourself some electrical tape and through trial and error you will be able to find a tighter fit it just so happens that the particular minimalist stocks that I show in this video work pretty well I got both of them off of eBay and they are no longer available so I suggest you talk to evike.com and have a look at their collection of mock suppressors for airsoft which is where I got mine or you can take a look at their selection of mil-spec stocks for airsoft since some of them look very close to the ones I have here

@@knighthawk3759 thank you for the response. Have you or anyone else thought about or tried finding something like an aluminum sleeve with maybe a rubber inside lining that would make it snug and secure? Something about the thickness of a real barrel, and have it maybe stick out past the original barrel so it doesn’t look like the end of a bb-gun and seems to be the barrel inside diameter of a barrel of an AR-15? Or are you happy with it as is. I love the aftermarket stock you’ve got on yours that’s fully customized. Yours is what showed me what is possible and convinced me to buy it. I didn’t even know these things existed until about 2 weeks ago when your video was randomly suggested to me. Obviously these have been around a while, but they escaped me attention until last month. You should have seen my jaw hit the floor when I first watched you rip it in full auto. I was Amazed immediately. Keep the videos coming.

@@Bosstrout yeah you don't want to use any of the air guns I review for use in home defense all they're going to do is piss somebody off they won't even really break the skin unless your point blank. You want an air gun to use for home defense then you'd have to go up to a 25 caliber PCP air pistol or rifle those things get up to about 7 to 800 ft per second and are used to hunt small game so that one would probably sting quite a bit

@@Bosstrout if you want something non-lethal for home defense you can try this it's full auto and it is used for training but it does fire pepper balls at a high FPS so while it would not be lethal it would definitely mess somebody up if they didn't have a respirator or gas mask www.umarex.com/products/product-universe/defense/t4e/2.4754X.html
