Was thinking about getting my son one... oh hell who am I kidding I want one for me! I don't even have a kid!! At least it will look cool next to it's big brother's
Buy one for the wife .When she sees yours yur gonna need another one,. Buy one for your 'son' too. My Golden loves his .....be sure to buy the 300 round mags too. The wifie will take yours. Mine did.
Great intro! I just love your channel ! Ive been researching air guns for recoil management training and this has been a real treat to find your channel ! Just purchased the Glock 17 Gen 3 air pistol after your review (researching all weekend all weekend, watching different channels ) and then thought, what the heck watch some more of Airgun Detective videos, way more positive than the dang news. Your intro's are just so cool as are the reviews! Thanks for all your content!!!
New subscriber. I just purchased the DPMS after doing a bunch of research. It arrives 1 July so I'll be plinking for the 4th. Nice succinct video, short and to the point. Perfect. Look forward to checking the rest of your content out.
This is so cool, when I was a kid my first BB gun was Red Rider and the next one was lever action it looked like 1870 Henry I can’t remember the name of it but that rifle was my first rifle the BB gun then I graduated to the marines ten years later they gave me the M14...
It's a great rifle, they just had issues out of the box with the blowback seal which is improved now. I had to exchange my original...if I had no issues out of the box it would have been rated higher not to mention the bolt lock-back in the warmer weather. I love these rifles and would consider a must have. They also have the R1 and then add the new RRM mag and wow! Thank you for tuning in and I appreciate your comments 😊
@@WyattL130 I have not had any issues with the Daisy zink BBs. They are much cleaner than the Crosman BB's and they don't rust as easy if they land in my pool 😉
You can take the MPW lower and the DPMS upper and put them together for an AR buttstock on your DPMS and you can unscrew the flash hider on the DPMS and put on a muzzle or fake suppressor for a realistic AR-15 look for your DPMS. Hope this was helpful
This does help!! I've been looking into getting a suppressor before mine gets shipped to me, I've gotten a 4x32 crossbow scope and a canted red dot. Aswell as a foregrip. Do you know what kind of suppressor fitting it takes?
Appreciated your getting into measuring the performance of the guns. Great looking and priced guns, but disappointed with the limited capacity. Drozd sure had that covered. Am also considering airsoft for the LED/phosphor tracer feature - that is just too effective at night. Also need to get my Crossman 600 rebuilt.
I've been looking around at reviews like this, and in my opinion, this one gave me the most information so I could make a good buying decision,..so I did, I just got off the phone from placing the order for the Bushmaster MPW. In about a week to ten days, I'll have it and then see if I can get some fun from this one too. Oh yes,. by the way, I did subscribe and rang the bell too.
Matt, they are a lot of fun and your timing is perfect. Summer is the best time for shooting Co2 powered airguns. I am going to put a series together, "Co2 Summer" and feature several different styles of Co2 powered airguns. 👍😉
Airgun Detectives-Airgun Reviews no problem I trying to build my within collection I've already got 4-5 and I'm only 13 I think I'm going to get the dpms
You can Pull the spring down then push it to the side and it’ll lock back so you can load the BB’s. Also the speed loader has a special piece that fits down right in front of where the piece locks in place on the magazine so the BBs go directly into the magazine
Thanks for the great review and especially the Amazon link. I've tried buying the DPMS this past week and the order was always flagged with a message to the affect that it could not be shipped to my region (California). For whatever reason, your link let me get past that barrier and saved me about 30 bucks since my other options were online airgun specialty stores.
@@AirgunDetectives It came really early this morning! It's a Xmas present for my wife. No, seriously. It really is. The red dot is scheduled for tomorrow. Already have plenty of BBs and CO2 for our 1911 BB pistol. I'll zero the SBR durning the early hours of Sunday morning when she's asleep, put back in the box, and then wrap it. I think going through a minimum of 5-8 mags during the zeroing process should get the job done. Certainly no more than 10 mags...or 11. 😉 Seriously though, thanks again. You saved me 38 bucks!
Awesome Video JC! I bought the DPMS in Dec 2018. It's my favorite BB shooter. What's even more astounding is the accuracy out to 20 yards. I took mine out to the range last month and tested it at 10, 15, and 20 yards to see how the group sizes would be. Just like your vid, I was getting 5 shot groups just under an inch at 10 yards. At 15 yards, the groups would spread out to 1 to 1.5 inches. At 20 yards, I was attaining 1.5 to 2 inch groups. Pretty impressive with a smooth bore barrel. After putting 5,000 plus rounds through this plinker, the metal plate that is on the bolt catch arm that catches and stops the bolt on the last BB snapped and broke in half. Without the protective metal plate, my bolt catch arm is worn down from the impact of the bolt slamming forward. I tried ordering the part and contacting Crosman, but the representative stated that certain parts are not available as of yet. They don't even have an exploded parts diagram yet. When I shoot the DPMS now, I make sure to push the bolt catch paddle in on the last shot so that the bolt will not lock back as I don't want to cause more damage to the arm. I look forward to your future videos. Your reviews are thorough and informative.
Thanks for watching! They are very addictive little guns and I like hearing your experience. I hope to feature a wide variety. I am trying to put out at least one video every week.
Very cool just purchase one, in my case only my second air rifle, getting old going to range spending a lot more money on the bigger toys. So getting close to retire and man these air gun fill in the gap for me. Like you mentioned, just walk out in my back yard and have a whole lot of fun and not broke same time. Thanks keep up the good work.
Really, really good video. One thing that you could add that would help us NewBees, and help you to grow your channel would be for you to show how to setup the gun from scratch. THAT was what I was looking for. I know a lot of new gun owners that are overwhelmed with the setup process.
I purchased the DPMS several months ago and absolutely love it! Now I have 3 friends that have also purchased them and we were out plinking a couple weeks ago. A conversation was started concerning magazine capacity. With the way these are flying off the shelves, I’m sure that we aren’t the only ones who are asking about this. Looking at it, I’m sure there is an easy way to make a double stack mag or more. I figured I’d ask here since this is a detectives channel. Just wondering if maybe you or your viewers have heard anything about that. Thank you for the great content!
I have the DPMS and if you're even considering buying either of these guns...do it. Mines been 100 percent reliable, very accurate for a bb gun and more powerful than I expected. Keep in mind it's just a fun plinker and nothing more but it's a blast blowing up bottles and cans on full auto. I've shot just about every firearm imaginable and these are absolutely worth the money. The flip up sights are pretty bad but for $20 you can get a decent little red dot and let the fun begin. They really feel like you're holding an AR and have a very satisfying full auto sound.
@WypipoFault I think it would shoot that far but you'd have to aim a lot higher to account for the bb dropping and it wouldn't hit very hard at that distance. The bbs seem to run out of steam pretty quick after about 20 yards or so but inside that distance it hits fairly hard
@WypipoFault I think it would be worth it, if nothing else I can promise you'd have fun with it but it does suck that the spare mags are so expensive. The controls are the same as an AR though and the weight is also about the same plus it can be fired on semi auto like an AR. I've had mine since December and it's still working great and never had a problem
I just got my DPMS SBR. Love it. Thank's for the review. Have you heard of when Crosman will start selling their new QR mags with their 300 bb capacity and "pullstrap" bb loader? Thank's!
@@AirgunDetectives Just received my Crosman Bushamaster and DPMS ..your video convinced me to buy each the Bushmaster is solid tight and compact great fun ....
Just picked up the dpms sbr as for the speed loader it was a little bit of a pain at first but once I got used to it I liked it as for the gun AWESOME 🤪🤪🤪
I used to own this gun same issue with the speed loader until I put a few drops of Silicone oil in the reservoir full steel bbs . Makes the loader work really well .
Speed loader works great - if you’re patient that is. DPMS is the best choice of the two ( my choice). I scoped it and amazed at the accuracy for a BB gun. Good vid in all.
Great video as usual. Does the trigger pull lighten up after a few thousand rounds? Mine is a little stiff. I had a good experience with the speed loader, used Daisy steel BBs, no problem.
@@johnnybbgunner2136 I heard that...not to mention you don't have to spend the gasoline to drive to the range. You need a small loan just to fill your tank right now. Thanks again for tuning in 👍
New subscriber here! I'd love to see you take the mystery out of the crosman a4-p airgun. I just got it and I really enjoi it. Last week I got my first airgun ever, a sig sauer p226 and I also have my eyes on Glock 19 gen 3😁 greetings from Sweden
I like the stock possibilities for the Bushmaster and didn't like the Handstop or Full length picatinny handguard or the stock and inability to switch out to something different on the DPMS so I got the Bushmaster. Also in my area of the country the Bushmaster is hard to get but the DPMS is practically everywhere so that might mean something... just got to get a better red dot but you managed to get similar grouping with both just one higher and one lower and I think the difference in velocity is due to the barrel length but it really looks like the only difference is how much of it is covered and by what as far as barrels.
Yes and no, Yes because part of it is me because I think it's important for him to learn to shoot, to learn a skill that could be useful to him someday, and, No because I hunted with my Dad because I wanted too and used a pellet gun, but if he's not interested right now, he may be someday, he's kind of on the fence about one, he's into gaming, but he's only six :-) I had some bad experiences with my Red Rider, I was the kid that shot his eye out, lol. We use to have bb guns wars as kids as well. I wanted to hunt so I used the pellet gun, it stuck and went through, it didn't bounce back. Now that have Dust Devils, I haven't used them, but I really like the idea.
I just got the R1 which looks nearly identical to the MPW (my imitation flash suppressor is a Birdcage/slotted type) and on it the safety is engaged when the select lever is point rearward, semi-auto is when the select lever is pointing down and full-auto is when the select lever is point forward. Edit: The rail on the top (and the bottom) of my R1 are the full length except for the imitation flash suppressor.
Came across this video today and this is the best review video I’ve ever seen !!!! Just subscribed !!! But I have a question, does the metal BB’s damage the gun ? I did some research and according to google , it does damage the inside of the gun. Is this true ?!?
Welcome aboard 😉 These rifles are specifically designed to shoot steel BB's. I prefer the zinc coated BB's because they are cleaner. But steel BB's do not damage the gun.👍
Great review. My dpms will be here on Saturday. I have to rid my yard of a bunch of invasive lizards and poisonous toads my dog keeps getting ahold of.
Have you had any Magazine Problems yet? Crosmam just sent me a new mag for my SBR because the original one had the nozzle issue that so many others have experienced. I also purchased 4 extra mags from Midway. With my Birthday pricing they were $37.50 ea. Which I thought was a excellent price considering Amazon wanted $55 ea.
Just came upon your channel! Liked and subbed! Very good info and explanation! I was wondering If I could ask you to recommend a red dot scope. I’m new to all this and I have no idea what you’re talking about when you mention red dots so if you could guide me in my first purchase, I’d really appreciate it. Nothing too expensive, just great bang for my buck pun intended. Haha! I just got a great deal at Amazon on the gun so would love the scope you described. Also if you could recommend a bb loader also, like the one you have. Thanks so much!
Welcome and thanks for subscribing. If you are going to put a red dot sight on one of these rifles or a low to non-recoil rifle then you can go for a very inexpensive sight. Go to Ebay and look up, "Red Dot Sight Reflex Green Holographic Scope Tactical Mount 20mm Rails" you should be able to find one under $20.00. They work well on these guns 👍
I would wonder , could you consider adding a "best rival" section? What gun would best compete with this for your shelf space? This might have some variables to define (cost etc), but for me - knowing that in a similar price bracket , this is rivalled by ... I dont know , something like the Sig MPX and how you would choose would be an interesting element to the video.
