Following the Dave Ramsey Method to financial freedom has been such a positive life change for me. Over then past 18 months I've accomplished more with my finances than my whole adult life combined. I didn't realized how far my head was in the sand until really taking the time to absorb all the free information provided by listening to the Ramsey show. In this video I wanted to explain the 7 Baby Steps highlighted in the Ramsey method and also explain exactly what step I'm working on.

Kaitlin, I found so much in common with you. I also found out about Ramsey method couple months ago and it already changed my reality. I don't earn more money, but I managed to save, first time in 9 years since I have a kid. On top of that, my son also gets calmer, because I'm calmer. We don't do so much fun stuff, but spend more quality time at home, cook more and I'm teaching him about managing money. He managed to save his money first time in his life, before he was just spending everything as soon as he got it. There kind of videos are also very important, especially for parents of special needs children.

Thank you Kaitlyn, your encouragement is appreciated. I am 70 yrs, guardian to 16 and 13 yrs grandsons. The 16 yr is on the autism spectrum, still navigating school and post high school is uncertain. I’ll have to listen in, as i am on a fixed income already, and cannot manage “ getting any kind of job @ this point”. I don’t share that to put a damper on the wisdom and suggestions you are sharing. Your encouragement is beneficial. Thank you for uplifting me by sharing.

Thank you for sharing your story❤️ and I pray that you are able to get some assistance with raising your grandsons. That is a tremendous and selfless thing you are doing and they are very lucky to have you🫶

I remember when we first started Dave's plan, we were excited we finally had our $1000 emergency fund, then guess what? Both of our cars needed repairs! Boy were we happy we had that emergency fund and it wasn't a stressful situation. How wonderful and what a relief it was when we became deft free (even a 20-year college loan that to this day I have kept the email saying my student loan was Paid in full!" as a reminder of how far we've come!) Watching Dave's RU-vid videos...I watch them and how much debt some of these people are making six to seven-figure incomes and they are broke! It made my situation at the time not so bad lol We are currently doing steps 4-7 simultaneously. Keep pushing along, Kaitlin! I'm proud of how far you've come so far!

I’m so happy for you and inspired by your story! I can’t wait till I get to baby step 4. And like you, I took a screen shot of my “paid in full” message from my student loans. Best feeling ever!

I've come to the same conclusion about the value of Ramsey's work. I, however, am in Sweden and I find myself questioning all the monetary values on all of the steps since we have a vastly different scenario here when it comes to state pension, unemployment protection and so on. I would love to find out what Mr Ramsey used to calculate the baby step amounts, and see how it would change with different input variables.

That would be a great question. He takes calls every day from listeners. I’d be interested to see what he says

Hi Kaitline, thanks for sharing your point of view, very helpful. I am a father of autistic son myself, I have seen all of your videos and can see my son has almost same behaviours like Kaidale. I wanted to ask how did you help Kaidale stop climbing on everything, you had posted a video on it long time ago and wanted to know what strategies helped you guys, my son keeps climbing on everything ignoring danger of falling down and I m running out of ideas … if you can share any insights, that will help. Sorry it’s not related to this video but I guess my message will reach you since video has been just posted. Looking forward to connecting, thanks

One thing I did that helped was I bought a couple of gymnastics bars off Amazon and put it in the living room for him to climb on. I just put some mats underneath for safety. Then when he wants to climb on other stuff, I just redirect him back to the gymnastics bars.

That’s ok, I appreciate your feedback! I know it’s probably not going to appeal to a wide audience. I was just more so thinking if it helped a small number of people like myself then it would be worth it. But if that doesn’t seem to be the case, I will definitely review and reconsider.

Sounds very doable, and busts myths about how to get wealthy. I am so happy for you, because you're made for this. You are doing it. Watch you become a millionaire!! NOW I ONLY MAKE ABOUT $1,000 A MONTH. BEING DISABLED AND CHRONICALLY ILL, I'M BLESSED THE GOVERNMENT GIVES ME THAT. HOW CAN I MAKE INCREASE OUT OF THAT? IT'S BEEN VERY HARD TO PUT AWAY 10% EVERY MONTH.

That is a very good question and I’m so thankful for your comments. Do you have any hobbies or anything you could make to sell? Like quilting or canning or anything like that? I know people make a killing with online Etsy shops. Or do you have any local farmers markets that you could sell things at? Just trying to brain storm here to get the ideas going. I know you are very close with your service dog. You could maybe make some kind of dog treats or toys to sell. Let me know!

And the thing about making stuff or cooking, I find it to be very cathartic so it serves more than one purpose❤️
