I loved your comment about James Bond's spaceship. I think that was going through everybody's head when Luthen Rael escaped from that Cantwell-class cruiser. I could easily imagine the following conversation between him and an outlaw tech when he picked up his newly modified Haulcraft. "This thing has lightsabers? You're joking!" "They're particle emitter beams, and I never joke about my work Mr. Rael."
looking at the beautiful haulcraft design, together with this video's soundtrack - there's still nice things in this world. brought a smile to my face 🙂
fwiw, the chaff launcher is not intended as a weapon. chaff is a cloud of reflective particles, designed to confuse enemy radar and weapon lock-on systems; it's a defensive countermeasure. luthen's highly effective (and creative) use of it to destroy the tractor beam emitters was A) very unorthodox and B) thematically very appropriate (tricking the empire into tightening their grip, only for that to lead to their destruction). i just felt that was worth putting into words lol
I'd moreso call it the Batmobile of Star Wars. And Leuthen is TOTALLY Batman/Bruce Wayne. Interesting that the book describes it as a "transport" intended for hauling "external cargo containers." I always imagined it to be the Star Wars equivalent of a tug boat, or tow truck, originally designed for towing and hauling larger ships. That's why it is equipped with such powerful sublight engines. I think I will stick with my head canon for now, since Disney Star Wars does not seem to take any of their written material seriously.
Still needs a detachable hover car. For local streets, and in local space travel. Possibly a micro F.T.L drive. Could be carried by the ship. Cargo Bay could work as a hover car garage. F.T.L. 2 x light speed.
Thank you for a thoughtful and well organised video. The haul craft is very interesting. I attempted to develop an internal deck plan from screenshots and such but it’d just be speculation as a lot has never been depicted on screen. It seems to me like an asymmetric layout possibly. Thanks again. P.S. a brief animation of a Star Wars universe inspired vessel I designed and 3D constructed: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--CvXDn6D5ik.htmlsi=5jW0Oyx-2E4dZJ-o
If you look up the Dawn of the Rebellion Visual Dictionary, you should be able to find the cutaway of the Fondor that was included in it. You can only see the front half, but it is indeed an asymmetrical layout. Your freighter design is very cool! I’ve 3D modeled a few spaceships, but haven’t tried an interior yet. I love the name as well.
Nah, Bond would be flying something made by Naboo or similar. With all the same gadgets. Bond is... not a good spy. Too fancy, too visible. This would be the equivalent to Bond driving a Ford Transit Van. Unnoticed by everyone because they're so common and everywhere.
Do you have a problem with the genre or the volume? I’ve been getting bored of the same background music for a while, and have been struggling with the volume sounding fine while editing but being too loud when I export it, so your feedback would be appreciated.
@@RadioFreeCoruscant For Your genre I would've go with free stock music but sounding orchestral, something with wider landscape if You catch my drift. As well I would've put volume a bit lower with equaliser limiting the highest frequencies.
