I'm 58 years old and grew up with Joy Division, the Fall, Stiff Little Fingers and the whole punk and new wave scene. Now to experience a band like that again, authentic, with so much power and energy. Thank you...Thank you Fontaines D.C.
@@rentalsnake6542 they are not, he talked about this song on an interview. Regardless music is what you make of it, interpretation is just as important as the original intensions.
I'm 54, radio producer from Buenos Aires. I can't help but being so excited about this band. The album is superb from start to finish. Listening to these guys is like tons of fresh air in my face and ears. Well done, Dublin!.
A wonderful lyric, full of great quotes " Sit beneath the light that suits ya" ... "Don't let a clock tell you what you've got time for" ... "Speak sincere and everyone will hear". Fantastic. WHAT a band.
@@bonnellie2008 ok tasteless woke member of the generation that has given us the worse music of all time and contributed nothing but knife crime and staying in school till you're grown men. You guys are so cool... whatever daft letter you identify with.
This song is incredible, pulled me out of a bad mental spot last week when I happened to turn over to Jools Holland. Thanks boys, you’ve made a new fan.
That’s powerful. Glad it helped you. My mental health isn’t the best wither, and The words really speak to me too. Something melancholy about it, yet it is extremely uplifting as well. 🙏
Sent shivers down my spine, I know some people in very dark places including myself who swear this song has been setting their head straight, thanks Fontaines D.C.
Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Don’t get stuck in the past Say your favourite things at mass Tell your mother that you love her And go out of your way for others Sit beneath a light that suits ya And look forward to a brighter future Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Sink as far down as you can be pulled up Happiness really ain’t all about luck Let your demeanour be your deep down self And don’t sacrifice your life for your health When you speak, speak sincere And believe me friend, everyone will hear Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Bring your own two cents Never borrow them from someone else Buy yourself a flower every hundredth hour Throw your hair down from your lonely tower And if, and if You find yourself in the family way Give the kid more than what you got in your day Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Never let a clock tell you what you got time for It only goes around, goes around, goes around Take your family name for your own great sins Cuz each day is where it all begins And Don’t give up too quick You only get one line - you better make it stick If we give ourselves to every breath Then we’re all in the running for a hero’s death Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty That was the year of the sneer now the real thing's here
“If we give ourselves, to every breath, then we’re all in the running for a heroes death” ... love this line - don’t waste your life make the most of the time given to you! 💓
Views for any of Fontaines dc should be in the millions! The musicians in this band and this lead man.... words won't come to say what a perfect blend they have and this positive song so appropriate in lockdown 2020 and anytime. As another commentor says, this song could save lives.
I'm 59 and I'm waiting patiently on my pre-ordered copy of the second album. Have been waiting a long time for an Irish band of this quality. The lead singer from Skerries sings with a Dublin accent. FFS, I may already be in heaven.
You might remember A house in that case? When I hear Grian singing in his own accent it always reminds me of 'Endless art ' by A house. The lads are class. They've really blown up now it seems too..Great to see it.
This is my favorite VERSION 🎉 I like the lyrics version too because I wasn't sure what was being said (Accent of my Ancestors). 🎉 I LOVE THIS BEST for whatever reason ❤️ 💜 Your song changed my life❤😊 Thank You ✌️ ☮️ 😊
Jesus I can't wait til this Covid shit is over so that I can barely restrain myself at the front of a concert watching these guys. We'll be singing and hugging each other and laughing at how fucking brilliant music and life and everything is! Yeah!
Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty Life ain’t always empty i love this song
Never heard of them...bloody brilliant. Thank the lord we have shows like Later with Jools Holland on TV still to showcase bands like these to a wider public (like me).
