I AM in fact a Canadian. And you are, in fact, required to know the lyrics to this song, Action (by Streetheart) and anything by the BareNaked Ladies...
Looks like he's using Dave Grohl's monitors and microphone. The drums are probably loud as is Dave screaming at you, but the other instruments are probably pretty low in the monitors. The front row is more likely to go deaf!
I have to agree. I don't care what they are saying about Dave in the press lately, he has always been a class act. There's one video floating around where he gives a kid his guitar. Who does that?
TheStones1965 Green Day does this a lot too. There’s even video of them pulling 3 guys on stage to play bass/guitar/drums. You know those guys got laid that night lol. Billie Joe is always giving his guitars away too. Total classy band
@@jeffharder8706 yep went to a green day show probably 15 years ago, up front, hoisted a younger kid up on my shoulders and he got picked to go up and play guitar. Killed it and he got to keep the guitar too.
The grunge bands from the 90's that have continued to shine like Green Day and The Foo Fighters are proof that keeping it classy and always wanting to stay relevant is possible without having to create drama. Both bands started from pretty much nothing and you can see that are still grateful!
It's a bold statement for Upstate New York too! Especially for Auburn, NY. ( 20+ yrs CANUS GAMES 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇲) Orillia ON Rocks.... Just not as much as RUSH ... And Brian ❤️
Lisa Reichard Lol, I’m not Canadian but I have a lot of friends & family who are (all of my in-laws and a couple cousins). Everyone who grew up in the 70’s and 80’s are Rush zealots. To hear Dave Grohl say that IN Canada I thought was funny. It would be like going to Liverpool, England and saying “nobody knows all the words to Hey Jude”
This would be my dream come true. It looks like it might have been one of Brian's, too. I'm so proud-feeling for him, watching this.. stellar job, class act, excellent cover by all.
This video is a recording of the best night of that man's life. Imagine being that guy and having this video to show to people. I'd put it on my resume.
Maybe not his Supreme Moment , maybe he has Kids, maybe one of them grows up to be the 1st Canadian Pope, maybe one day he's at his local bar and one guy says boastfully, " My Son is the biggest lawyer in New York City!", then another Feller pipes up, "Oh Yeah My Daughter is the first Cherokee Indian Woman to be running for Pee resident of the United States of America and she is also a Senator of the Great State of Mast-A-2-Shits, so top that!, So this guy's simply says," My Son is the Pope".
@@favrerules04 this is why Dave is the greatest living rockstar alive today. Dave has never forgetten what is important about being musician and that's good tunes, and understanding that he owes it all to fans. Dave will always try and do what's best for fans to have a special experience when he performs. And Dave has never let the ego go to his head believeing he is a Rock Good should be worhsipped, no Dave knows he's a human and so a the millions of fans and he treats them all with more respect than any performer since Ronnie James Dio
This is the number one reason why I like Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, he always does cool shit like this! What a great human being you are Dave. RIP to the greatest drummer to ever walk the face of this earth. We will sorely miss you Neil Peart!
I've been a Rush fan for well over 3 decades now and that was one of the most awesome things I've ever seen and heard! Amazing job Brian. you nailed it! And how awesome are the FF's to give this guy the chance of lifetime to have the experience of a lifetime? It's doesn't get much better than this. And RIP Neil.
An awesome cover of Tom Sawyer. Why? Because these guys were having a great time and the crowd was having a great time with them. If that isnt an amazing tribute to Rush, then I dont know what is.
Dave Grohl inducted Rush into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. He was more excited than the band was (or at least more excited than Alex was. He had nothing but blah blah blah to say)
the fact that brian didnt have a PA in his own ear to hear himself over the HUGE MUSIC behind him ...i guarantee you had he a PA in his air he would have done even better....but still...out of the goodness of fun!!! amazing time was had
They say everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame in this life. This guy got 6, and did what 99.9 % of us can only dream of and I applaud the shit outta him !!!
O.M.G So,so awsome. The way Dave look"s is Pretty Priceless( lol) but he must have made(Brian's) millennium sayn' such kind words, after he sang, Fuckn' Priceless.Dave is so eclectic, funny, love's his fans,; The Foo's are the total package!!!
My favorite all time "Dave face" is when Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones joined the Foos onstage at the O2 arena in London to cover RnR and Ramble On. At one point during Ramble On Page does this high to low slide about 15 frets up the neck and Dave just freezes for a second watching, soaking it in... A definite "I'm onstage with FN Page" moment in time.
I just got the chills watching this (first time since Neil passed). I cried, smiled and thought I am one lucky dude to see Rush live multiple times. Each time it never dawned on me that it would all end sometime. It did, I’m grieving and cognizant of living in the now and appreciating special times, now! Thank you, Brian. Thank you #Rushfamily
Uploaders Note: Alright, certain stubborn Rush fans out there. "It took 7 guys to pull off what 3 guys in Rush can do - this sucks". This was a fan pulled from the crowd and performed on the spot. He did pretty awesome in my opinion - better than a lot of people commenting on here could likely do. Whew, I feel better now.
This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life. I'm from the city that this was recorded in, Edmonton, Alberta some how I feel cooler and I don't know Brian from anybody. The dude was brilliant!
in morgan freeman voice narration : " ..And so it began, in a time when fear and darkness held court over the pious and the weak , a valiant hero emerges from the black Void to unshackle the masses w the Golden Voice of Truth. ....and that man's name wis "Brian".✨ 💪
I wish there were a way to direct people to your comment. It fits in so well with the whole vibe of this. Thanks for keeping that moment alive just a little longer! But now I am waiting for your movie to start...
@@GCAT-zv9in i may be off but, this is very much reminding me of "the life of brian" by montey python(may have fubed the name a bit,its been years since i watched the python movies...need to do that again....good stuff...
The thing about rock is the spontaneity and the pure sloppy raw fun of it all. Kudos to The Foo Fighters...they know what is at the heart of this music! That was far from polished, but it was pure fun!
Kudo's to Brian! And, Grohl's face was fantastic! Chris did an amazing job pulling off the solo and Taylor did an awesome job on the drums!! All around great cover and tribute to Rush!
I've never been much of a Foo Fighters fan. It's not my kind of rock 'n' roll. But god damn it they are always humble guys who are good to their fans, so that in turn makes me a fan, even if I don't listen.
Seriously.... For one of the most humble of Rock gods, to ask a member of the audience to preform another song by one of rocks most humble of singers, must have made Brian feel like a true, “God of Rock”! Great job man!
This is my favorite of these kind of clips, because he is just nervous enough that you can tell it really was just some guy out of the audience, but he acquits himself well, and the support from the audience when he hits those high notes is fantastic...This makes me tear up...
