@@RajSharma-lm7qz Rush would use the PA system instead of amps, so for laughs Geddy would put weird things on the stage behind him where amps would normally be, ie washing machines or rotisserie chicken (really).
@@australien6611 Geddy by this point had his bass amplification wired directly to the main front of house board, so there was no external amps needed on stage. He thought of what to fill the space back there, which is why you see odd things like washer/dryer machines and rotisserie chicken cookers during the Time Machine tour.
So good. Neil was not only an amazing drummer but what a talented writer/poet he was, so intellectual and heart felt. We miss him very much. There never will be another RUSH.
These three men have been in my life since i was twleve years old when i opened Caress of Steel for Christmas - 45 years and 29 shows later everytime I watch these videos and a flood of memmories come back and I cant help but smile, running through the SUBURBS with my friends, My infant son in the back seat playing airdrums to La Villa Strangiato, and the last show I went to see with that little boy at 21, after he gave me the tickets for Fathers Day, I grew up with Rush, and they helped me raise my son, Thanks guys, you made life a little more worth living. You can Exit Stage Left now, God Speed.
Having seen Rush live many times in two different countries, they still amaze me. Three men producing a solid wall of sound. God, I've loved this band since I was twelve years old. R.I.P. Professor... 💙☮️♥️
So if you grew up with Rush as a youngster around the time TS came out, and if you appreciated them at ALL, you’ve heard Tom Sawyer about 56,000 times. On the radio... tapes... your collection moved over to CD... then downloads obviously... that these three can just walk out there and reproduce a pretty.dämn.good rendition approximating the studio version (thank you, Professor)... LIVE-at THAT-is actually astonishing. You know every note, every quarter rest, every key stroke and they just go out and frickin reproduce it on-demand. Any.Time.They.Choose. the way you always have known the song. It’s actually kind of amazing. Consummate musicians. Masters at their craft.
@@CmonstoleCmonstole I can see your POV about them, I can see that they weren’t the greatest band, but that’s just my opinion. I mean let’s face it, there are other great bands like Led Zeppelin and Nirvana. Now this also depends on your generation of music that you prefer. I like anything up from 1970 to 1990 so...
They definitely were the best. No three man band has ever put out that much sound. I had a young guitar playing friend listen to them once. He said how many people are in that band. He said it sounded like 12 guitars. Neil was the best drummer the world has ever seen.
@@defendingthefaith.7889 Yea indeed, he was the best drummer this world has ever seen, now that is both fact and opinion based unfortunately, but we can all say the Neil was the best drummer that ever existed. And I can respectfully say that that is true, because I am a drummer, and most of my growing camera from the teachings of Neil and his technique. I watched lots of documentaries and his lessons that are on DVD on how to play some of Rush’s greatest songs.
A pretty damn good performance especially when you consider that Rush was the last band to be added to the lineup. According to drummer Neil Peart, "When we were first asked to play Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto, it seemed impossible to say yes. We had been off the road for 8 months, our gear was in the warehouse, most of our crew was out on other tours, and even we were all over the place - Geddy with his family in France, Alex working in the studio mixing our Rio de Janeiro show, and me on my motorcycle in the California mountains. However, when we thought about everything Toronto meant to our lives, to our work and play, our homes and families and friends, it seemed impossible to say no!"
Ever time I see a drum cover of someone playing a Rush tune I’m amazed people can copy it note for note. BUT none of those folks have anything close to Peart’s power...
No oney, twoey 🔥🔥🔥 What balls to just run out and with 2 hits of the hi-hat dazzle the crowd with one of the best performances of Thom Sawher EVER!!! S/N - Dirk is counting the chicks in the crowd at the end hahaha
This is how we handled an actual deadly pandemic....close nothing, encouraged people to NOT wear masks......and invite the Stones & ACDC plus our hometown superband to entertain a half million party. How we have fallen😒
For the shops, hotels and restaurants. Not many died that year. In Europe we had no sars. Think about it. Covid was a disaster. No one had to go outside. Result : to many died. And don't forget the fear. Even after 2 years. 😮
I can only think of 2 bands that where all members are master musicians playing to their equals. Led Zeppelin is one, the other being Rush. If there's another, please comment. (Think about it. The Beatles were fantastic, truly a great band, agreed. Could someone else play drums without suffering the band? Yep, and had. Same with The Who, right? NO ONE replaces Peart nor Bonham. Is there a better singer/bass player for Rush? Nope. Master musicians playing to their equals!)
Don't forget Pink Floyd, Kansas, Eagles, and Skynnerd. Wanted to take myine to Rush but he was in Iraq, for some reason Rush seemed to like playing KC, same with Joe Walsh and the Eagles.
No. After the concert tour in 2015 Neil Peart made it plain he was going to retire. His body was starting fail him, as Geddy often said, in that he was sore everywhere and kept getting odd infections. Drumming at his level is tough on a body. He also wanted to spend time with his young daughter Olivia and enjoy the pleasure of watching her grow up, something he missed with his late daughter Selena. About a year after that he was diagnosed with brain cancer, glioblastoma. He did live about 3 1/2 years after that diagnosis. In some respects, the poor guy he never really caught a break.
if the video were made now during COVID they would be wearing a mask, and the video and your comments would be completely different. the important thing to do throughout history and from this point forward is, "Do what Jesus tells us to do and we will be okay."
@Sandy bite your tongue! Live music and other events will be back stronger than before when people start pulling their heads out of their asses! Cheers🍻🎸🎵🥁🎶🎹🎤🎺🎻🎶🎹🎼📯🎶
If you watch the whole Rush sarstock performance, it's kind of a mess, they had a lot of technical issues. I think Geddy might've told him the guitar was too loud
