Playing with the same intensity for 45 people in a garage as they do in front of 80,000 in an arena. That's why I love this band. Absolutely the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Dave tell off the scene and broke his leg in Sweden. He said he will be back. Fans stayed for hours. He came back several hours later. And completed the concert in a wheelchair. What a legend.
There's a rock band from Germany called Die Toten Hosen. They are one of the most popular bands in Germany and are also touring in Argentina a lot. They used to tour in living rooms and cellars of their fans and called it the MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR. Chek them out!!! :)
Every generation has that flagship, signature Rock band to call their own. After watching this, I can say without a doubt that Foo Fighters are the hallmark rockers of our generation.
Calling Dave "the nicest guy in rock" is an understatement. This man may be the most humble person on Earth. One of the nicest, most wholesome dudes ever.
That, hands down, was one of the best spent 40mins of my life. I was never a huge FF fan, as I was into heavier stuff... But, this really made me a fan. Sadly, it was after Taylor's death... it was very cool what they did for their fans. R.I.P. Mr. Hawkins.
I completely understand what you said. I loved much of the Foo's music. However, I experienced a terrible loss and through a niece of mine found out about Taylor's passing. I grasped Taylor's death and combined it with my loss and have used this time to really get to know the band and it's members. An amazing crew. Not only their music, but their videos, their interviews, and so much more. Seldom does a band and its members of this magnitude show us so many facets of their lives. They are truly unique and genuine in a world where so much isn't.
It is rare to see a band as successful as this still care so much about the music and their fans. These musicians are put on pedestals by their fans and this means the world to them. I would probably faint if I ever met Dave Grohl in person.
Wow holy crap lol im glad you pointed that out because im at work just skipping through this and now ive GOT TO watch the entire thing for all of the in between snippets haha rock on! \m/

That's why I love Dave Grohl coz he's a great and down to earth rockstar! (Dave: can I drive that tractor?.... lol he really did!) And how lucky was that man,he didn't just won the contest but he also gets to play (guitar) with them ( 2 songs). And that kid I mean "kid"(9 or 10 yrs. Old I guess) how lucky he was for having Pat Smear's guitar!(yeah he signed and gave to a kid who asked for it) awww Foo Fighters is the best ever! Dave you're the BEST!!!!
I do not know what about you, but I actually have a very good respect for independent artists like those dudes! *watch?v=TCnlGhlXXBw* Really like Them! RU-vid this URL and enjoy!!
Watching this put one of the biggest smiles on my face. This band just gives back so much to its fans, its what has inspired me to become a musician myself. I may not be famous or even close to it, but if I ever did, I would do stuff like this. These guys are heroes, my heroes. This band will always be the best band of the past 20 years. Keep on rockin' Foo Fighters!!
How freaking awesome? These guys played the biggest venues in the world and they are still down to earth enough to play little gigs like this fir their fans. These guys ROCK!
Do you know what the most amazing part of this video is? It's not the live show or the songs they play. It's honestly the parts where you see the band just hanging out with a group of real fans. Chatting in a bar. Jumping into a pool, and listening to a Fire Fighter's story. The parts where they don't seem like famous Rock stars, but awesome and talented people sharing an experience together! What an incredible thing to do! That's why the Foo Fighters are the greatest band for me!!
PoomMusicman Green Day do that all the time. They pull up people from the audience on stage to play with them and if theyre impressive enough they get a guitar :)
I'm in tears because Oliver Taylor Hawkins ascended to rock heaven on March 25th, 2022 - My condolences to all the bereaved of FF-FOO FIGHTERS and family
i love the foo's man this left me with a huge fucking grin on my face all fucking day look how happy that guy was playing with them and then Grohls laugh when he said ''i don't even need to play'' made me smile so hard. They kick fucking ass man
in my entire life I cannot recall hearing about or seeing anything like what the Foo did here. They are the absolute best rock and roll outfit on the planet
I haven´t seen another band who does this, they are really kind with their fans and give everything in the concerts, the foo fighters are probably the nicest rock n roll band ever
I have just discovered the Foo Fighters this last few days. I always work and off on STD do to ankle surgery. I always known of them but didnt discover them till now. My head has been up so far Metal’s ass and missed the last 20 years of this??? Dave I apologize but job well done! Thank God for artists like you.
Pat Smear is awesome. Sutch a ray of positive light whenever he is around. Legend! The rest of the Foo's too but Pat doesn't get the press he deserves.
Dave Grohl is the definition of a true musician. Not only is he incredibly INCREDIBLY musically gifted, the dude loves and appreciates the music so much that he rocks out just as hard in a garage as he would at MSG.
This is why I love these guys. They are so down to earth and are genuinely in music for all the right reasons. I would love to be buddies with any one of them.
1. 3:16 White Limo (Wasting Light), Shortened 2. 5:17 Arlandria (Wasting Light), Intro 3. 7:28 Rope (Wasting Light) Shortened/Chorus and drum solo 4. 9:56 My Hero (The Colour and The Shape), Snippet
I'm old, old school. Saw zeppelin, stones, who, gigs, chili peppers, etc. all in their very early years. The Foo Fighters stand with the great ones, and they are definitely the coolest band I've ever seen. To play a garage tour, after having played Wembley, to make those people feel special at the garage gigs, to play the garage gigs like they're playing an arena, and for Pat Smear to give a kid his guitar just because he asked for it. Well, come on. Isn't this what life is supposed to be about?
Fuck man this every musicians dream have your favorite band in your home playing your own guitar together side by side...Jesus I tried to hold the tears but it didnt work=) this was a great video and idea.
I don't know of any bands I grew up listening to, or active today who would do something like this. Dave is definitely the nicest guy in rock. He's living the dream but he's still extremely appreciative. For that alone he deserves the success. Giving the kid the guitar and watching him hold it like its the Holy Grail was priceless...
The best part of this video is when the guy gets to jam with his favorite band. I was so happy for him to the point I almost teared up. I can only dream of doing that with my favorite artist, and I hope and pray for that day to come. Foo Fighters, thank you for making someones day, and arguably their whole entire life.
There aren't enough good things that can be said about this band. Every album is a guaranteed winner, every show immediately goes down in your memory banks as the best show you've ever seen and each time you see them interact with their fans and the press you fall more in love with them.
10:36. Is everyone associated with the band cool. This is exactly how I would have liked to be talked to when asking this question about helping them setup.
I really love this band, I love these guys as human beings and as musicians too obviously. But this is just the coolest thing I have ever seen a famous rock band do. BRAVO FOO FIGHTERS!!!!
Wow, just awesome... there's a reason why Dave is part of the 2 most influential bands of the 90's & 2000... his work ethic and attitude are something every artist should strive for... I absolutely loved the Toronto show because you can tell that was his dream come true.. well my dream as well... how amazing would it be to rock out on stage with the Foo's ... glad that one die hard fan got his chance...
When PAT gives that young lady his guitar I fucking cried my soul out. The greatest, most benevolent band of the early 21st century (I know Dave stared it earlier but in its current incarnation)
The Foos are far from my favorite band (I still really like them), but I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dave and the lads. It's great to see how much their music can move and inspire people in such an intimate setting. This video really brightens my day!
what an amazing group of guys to do this...i love how real they are and how they can stay grounded even though they are huge rock stars. i always loved Foo, but now after watching this they have earned a crazy amount of respect from me!
I know I am seeing this a few years after but anyone could watch this 10 years from now and be brought back to a time when the Coolest Band on the Planet did an amazing thing and brought it to the people who matter most--the Fans! How fucking cool is this band????? Ice cold!
