Too 'Weird' for a greatest hits album. I think this is one of their best songs but the best of compilations have to contain commercial and popular songs.
Supongo que no está incluida en el álbum de los grandes éxitos, porque tiene por allá su toque medio similar a Nirvana, sobretodo al in Utero. En mi humilde opinión, siendo una canción muy buena.
This song is so different from their usual stuff that it still stands out today. Definitely still one of my favorite. Look at how happy Taylor looked, that's what I'll miss. That smile, that blindingly white smile from behind the drums, and God was he a master drummer! This song is how I will remember Taylor. This live performance.
It's the first studio song we heard with him on drums. Opening track to 3rd album. You're right. One of the best. How could anybody not like him? Lots of hateful words being spread about him right now.
One of my favourite songs and an absolutely incredible beat. Rest in Peace Taylor, I'm incredibley happy to have grown up with a beat in my step thanks to you.
Eric Johnson When Pat was on The Germs the other members were starting to jerk themselves out. So I guess that 30 years of punk rock teach you that, dude.
Most ridiculous statement … Led Zeppelin? Not even in the conversation. Coo fighters is need rock for gamers in their moms basement. This song Song is an obvious Kurt Ripp off on the coattails of his death Dave did the same thing with his chorus parts. Dave and Kurt were not close. Dave was only in the band a couple years. Complete pirate. Foo fighters and Dave’s music in general is nerd gamer rock. No where near the soul of Nirvana. Foo fans are geeks that branched off from Nirvana but claim some sort of heritage to coolness that they don’t deserve and damn sure didn’t inherit. Band is lame, period.
Pat is a master DGAFer. I love his solo. Solos don't all have to be masterful, pretentious displays of knowing how to use scales and shit. It's about doing what you feel like doing. That's exactly what he's doing here.
I saw the Foo Fighters in 1999 when this had just come out. It was a benefit show at the House of Blues at Disneyland - invite only. My wife and I were sitting at the bar and during the guitar solo of this song, Dave jumped off the stage, ran across the room and literally leapt up on the bar and proceeded to play the rhythm part with his feet just inches from my beer. We were stunned and star stuck. To this day, it was probably the single heaviest thing I've ever experienced at a concert.
I did...and Taylor..after a Foos gig here...they were cool....Another time,I talked to Taylor on the phone at his hotel here.....I asked if he collected vintage drums/cymbals...He said no.....
this has to be one of the best performances by them on one of their most awesome live songs and the crowd is just standing there. i would be going nuts here during all their little mini solos, and i loled when dave just took his shoes off, but no, theyre barely even clapping.
@Weaselfilms you GOTTA SEE THEM IN CONCERT. This performance is toned DOWN compared to their live shows. Saw these guys front row and it’s still my best concert to date.
I love everything about this video. Chris’s kickass Les Paul, Dave in a suit (hottttt), Dave saying a funny at the beginning, Pat’s black Strat, Nate’s shiny P-bass, Taylor refusing to wear a jacket (totally get it dude), the fact that this is a Beatles tribute (my other fav band) … oh and Stacked Actors. Great song 😂
When Pat makes the slightest mistake with that slide and all band members laugh instead of bothering or gestures, it is when you realize when a band really enjoys what they do every time they do, being happy. Hopefully the Foo Fighters were eternal and teach you all how to enjoy the work you do and the day you live. Yes, it's very romantic how I said that, but it's the truth.
This performance was the second video I came upon after seeing Everlong. I knew nothing of the Foo Fighters or their music.THIS performance made me fall in love back in January of this year, listen to ALL of their music I could find and at the end of February buy a ticket to see them in July. I saw this and before I knew the names of the band members I called Dave Grohl Mr big beautiful mouth, and Taylor Hawkins the cowboy on a white horse in a white suit with a gleaming white smile.... aka surfer dude. Nate Mendel gassing the rhythm, and of course "Shifty'" Chris Shiflett, with Pat Smear adding dimension. But what caught my attention about THIS performance was the way Mr big beautiful mouth says "mm hm" at the beginning, the way his tie wants to be free of him and how he casually removes his shoes. Towards the end (at 8:28,8:29), surfer dude is literally dancing, DANCING on the drums while he's playing that kick. Everyone in the band is jamming to this song and it is infectious, funky and sexy as hell. No turning back ma. I was SO looking forward to seeing them here in NYC and I literally cried reading the 6 am newsfeed that Taylor Hawkins was gone💔💔. The whole of Foo Fighters catalog is freaking fantastic. I have about 90 of their songs on repeat. All thanks to this bad ass 11 year old performance. Much love to them and all the other fans. Signed Old Black Lady in NYC
MegaRockstar48 . This is a Gibson 335 Trini Lopez . It’s Daves go to Guitar . He shops at Norman’s Rare Guitars In Tarzana . Chris Favours Strat and Les Pauls . Pat seems to have the biggest selection .
I got the album "there is nothing left to lose" for christmas 1999, Great album and every time i hear this song it brings me back to that time! The Foo Fighters are still one of the best american rock bands out there today and Dave and the boys still fucking rock!
I saw them in 2008 at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, I was 15 years old. Taylor Hawkins blew my fucking mind. I love the foo fighters. R.I.P Taylor Hawkins
this was an amazing performance! I love how after the drummers solo at 4:00 he breaks into a drumbeat that reminds me of the band taking us on a sonic train ride that picks up speed thereafter....
First time seeing this video and hearing this song. Just when I think I can’t love these guys more than I already do, I see another performance and the love is even stronger. RIP Taylor.❤️🥁
This is off arguably their best album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose, which won a Grammy and was recorded in the basement of Grohl's house in Alexandria, VA. And this is the opening song, which essentially grabs you by the throat and never lets go until the end of the last song.
One of their best songs. On another note, have audiences forgot what a rock performance is? I am amazed at all the concert footage these these day where you see people barely moving. This studio performance is the same.
Some people don't feel the music. I went to see the Foos and Fun Lovin Criminals aged 17 (2000), RHCP aged 18 (2002) and thought I'd outgrown energetic gigs by then!!!!
this performance is unbelivable! so awesome, i really want to emphasise how much i enjoyed this, everything about this is great, all th little solo's in the song, all the guitars solo's the bass solo the drum solo the build ups and the whole feeling of this song is EPIC! downloading this song right away. foo fighters will always have a large space in my life
I never was an Foo Fighters Fan and I think i will never be. But i love this Song as hell and especially this Version. He has forever a Place in my personell Top 100 List of the best Songs of all Times. Thank you, FF
Incredible, I love it when they bring life back into the older songs live, it's brilliant, one of the reasons why they will always be one of my biggest influences #Cub
My best time in my young life...tnx FF for give me still energy after more years again! RIP Taylor and tnx for everything. You miss much more in this world...love at your FF. Luca from Italy.
haha Pat's like "fuck these cliche solos". An old punk like him doesn't want to play an 8-minute song, anyways. The beauty of punk is that you can say everything a big arena act can (and some things they can't), in 2 minutes flat.
every foo fighters song...every fucking song has the best lyrics like honestly even the songs that some people may not know so well the lyrics are still amazing... every song
