Can we just take a moment to appreciate of hard it is to do what they are doing. Playing an entire album from start to finish without any breaks and transitioning into the next song with no pause. My utmost respect for Taylor for keeping the grooves tight. A band is only as good as its drummer and this is one of the best performing bands in the world. Rest easy Taylor, you are deeply missed.
@@innitbruv2 It's literally just a live show. Every single band can do that. I assume you're not a musician. In fact I hope you're not, because if you think that's remotely impressive then you're definitely a terrible one. lmao.
@@NoName-fo7mz not sure how many live performances you've seen where they just go into the next song without switching guitars or getting ready, you know just taking a breather for a min or so just to get ready for the next song. But in this performance, they don't really stop even for a few seconds, they go straight into the next song. And all I and the other commentors are saying is that this is really hard to do for the drummer, and for the other members as well. And just to reply to your other comment, no I am not a musician. I play in local bands and would consider myself an amateur but definitely not playing songs so perfect that we need a click track.
I consider it one of if not their best works. My interchangeable top 3 foos albums are Wasting Light, Colour and the Shape and Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace.
"These Days" really hits hard here. "One of these days your heart will stop and play it's final beat". R.I.P. Taylor A genius behind the kit. The days will be a little darker now.

I still don't understand how this was physically possible for Taylor. This is a marathon effort. He gave it all each and every single time he played. I mean... this is the closest thing to having superpowers if you ask me. What this dude is doing here is just fucking impossible, yet not only he pulled it off. He ALWAYS pulled it off. Everything he did was just spot on and executed flawlessly, and with SO MUCH FUCKING POWER I still can't believe this guy was real. I am so grateful and so fucking sad at the same time. Mostly for his family and loved ones. Taylor was a sunshine. That's a big fucking void.
Amazing drumming skills: CHECK Decent set of pipes: CHECK Wonderful person all around: CHECK "big fucking void" on departure: [check] There are soooooo many assholes out there that the Fates could have taken, and they take THIS guy. I just don't get it.
I pulled this back up, his drive and commitment is evident. I love Taylor, the bond he and Dave had is brotherly. He was a spazz, and remember Nate saying "oh no not another one" because Dave was the same. It all worked and how can you replace him? You can't. Just like Led Zeppelin with John, it'll never be the same.
me too. been drumming religuously since 14. and a typical rock metal music life. toured, songs on radio, etc blah blah and still going at it with my 14 th band at 40 and by far my fav n my creation. Taylor was unreal and it hit me hard when his unexpected death happened. Ill try to carry on his amazin drumming through his influence on me. Alive n otherwise is the name . from wpg ,Canada
I think it's the best thing they've done since There Is Nothing Left to Lose. I was actually surprised how much I loved this record. A lot of their later stuff hasn't hit me in the way I think it should, but this was top shelf stuff. And the new record I think is gonna be good, too.
And it gets even better with the 'guest' musicians, like Bob Mould, Krist Novoselic and a few others....Pat was back full-time for the first time since 1997.
Taylor will go down in history as one of the best drummers of all time. He played with such intensity, precision and heart. A true LEGEND. Thanks for everything, Taylor. We’ll miss you.
Tjark Bass Yeah, you're right, The Colour And The Shape is their masterpiece. But Wasting Light is a strong, and surprising, second. Who would have thought that this band would make such a record in 2011?
+Shaylen721 It was alright, Something From Nothing was the highlight for me on that record, but The Colour and the Shape, Wasting Light and In Your Honor are my Top 3 Records for sure
This is such a time capsule. Just captures the energy, passion, talent, and camaraderie this band had. Them playing the entire thing straight through is just remarkable. Love the authentic, raw sound so much.
This album came out when I was like 16, about a month after I discovered the band. I'm obviously biased, but I still think this is their best album. I'll always regret not having gotten to see Taylor play live. RIP
+CptEgo He's so fucking good. Always right on beat, singing back up and has an amazing creative style. Does He ever get tired playing like this. Taylor used to play Drums for Alanis Morissette, fuck man I am so glad Dave saw His ability and scooped him up for the FF. Are you a Drummer Too? I noticed Him back when He played with Alanis.

The transition from White Limo to Arlandria is impeccable. Taylor's ride patterns and backing vocals throughout the album improve all the songs so so much. Everyone's so energetic, giving their 110% without taking any breaks. Dave's homage to Kurt on his guitar. Such an amazing video
@@DemonSlide timing, feel, precision is something all drummers should have there is really nothing special about his playing. im not saying his a bad drummer. hes just not something special
@@alexa2496 Did you not watch him for the full 45 minutes?! He worked his ass off. He's one of the best drummers in the world, his creativity and accuracy with every beat. His timing is impecible too. Taylor is so underrated
I agree. I think this album is the FF's masterpiece... I do not get too many to agree with me but for me it's obvious. It's as good as Back in Black, Rumors, Hotel CAlifornia, etc. It's that good
@@jamesbarrick3403 couldn’t agree more! This is by far their best album in my opinion, every song is a banger! Plus they all play so well. I think this is Pat’s perfect album as it brings his thunderous rhythm to the forefront.

In a way, the fact that he is the guitar player of foo fighters makes him part of the guitar world history. So I would rather say he is well respected due to that fact!
only because the foo's material don't give him enough room to shine. I mean... Almost none of their songs has a guitar solo, so the lead guitar part don't get enough credit, specially between the shredders community. Basically a tipical Foo Fighters hit song only has a break or chorus where the lead guitarist plays octaves. Exemples are Everlong, Best of you, My hero, etc. But of course I'm a fan of FF and Chris, and I know all his guitar parts and there's more thant just this
What I love most about this video, and this performance: even if this music isn't to your taste, there's no way to deny how hard everyone is working. The band is absolutely busting their ass
My favorite thing about Dave is, that he always gives 100% during live performances. I had the pleasure to see them live in 2018 at a huge German Festival called Rock im Park. The next day they were scheduled for Rock am Ring which is the parent festival of Rock im Park (both festivals are at the same time at two different locations but with the same line up). When I later checked the TV recording for their Rock am Ring performance, I could clearly hear that Dave was croaky af. He knew that he'll have two gigs in two days but didn't go easy on his voice at the first gig (where I was) at all. He basically gave everything at both gigs and I adore him for that.
@@_coffeebean_ I was at Rock im Park too, front row, best night of my life! Dave just knows how to put on a show, no matter if its 100 people or 100 000.
@@p1roncho nice!
@@_coffeebean_ Totally agree. Watched them 2 nights in a row in Toronto on the Sonic Highways/Broken Leg Tour... I'm sure his throat was raw after - the second night as insanely intense as the first. Loved how he not only wouldn't cancel the tour, but his energy up there, giving it all he could as usual in spite of his lack of mobility.
When I first heard this album, especially Bridges Burning and Rope, I thought, Damn, this is....kinda proggy! I like it! They are HARD. ROCK. But they touch a lot of trees as they run through the forest, and you really gotta respect all of it. In Your Honor, Echoes Silence Patience & Grace... Wasting Light, overall, I think is truly a pinnacle of their career. I'm seriously gonna miss seeing Taylor up there. What a hard, hard loss -- and I'm just a casual fan! Dave, Chris, Pat, Nate, Rami, my condolences go out to you for his passing, and I know it's just words, and they're not enough, but it's all I can offer. May he Trip The Light Fantastic. Shade and sweet water to all of you -- band and fans, alike.
People that dislike this video don't appreciate how cool it is when a band can write a great rock album AND perform the whole thing in one big shot! This is incredible talent and energy!
People who dislike this video are freaking idiots. Why would you come here if you weren’t a fan. If you’re a fan, there’s no way you can not like this. Your points are all spot on. It’s very difficult to do what they have done here.
I love the video, but once you've written an album it's pretty easy to perform. And Taylor is the only one busting a sweat, the tempo isn't exactly fast
@@thingamajacky My album can be found at mentalfatal.bandcamp.com (Very DIY styled, as heavily inspired by that first FF album). My new line-up plays more than that in most sets we play. We're thinking of live recording us doing the album. Unfortunately no videos up yet of a full-set, but head to our youtube and see us play a couple songs if you're interested in some ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-45Wu5cYE-hc.html
Man! Wasting Light is the Foo Fighters at their peak. They really outdid themselves after making 6 great studio albums! This performance is so timeless! Makes me wish they did a full live performance of each of their albums. RIP Taylor. You will be missed forever! 🦅
Daniel Amaya sick dude! had the same thought when i first listend to this record but i was under 18 but at my 18th birthday i got a foo tattoo on my arm too
When this came out years ago I watched it non stop ,it only felt right to revisit the brilliance of this band to honour Taylor Hawkins. He will be missed by everyone 😔
Listening to this today in honor of Taylor. This video in particular is such a showcase of what a talented musician he was. I can't believe he's gone!😥😥😥
I think it's a safe assumption that the Foos are not just a rock band..They're what my big brother in the 70's used to call a SUPER ROCK GROUP.. Plain and simple..
I see this video so many times...diferent days and times of my live. This musics is part of my. Foo love u guys ! This songs never be old. Salute from BRAZIL ! #riptaylor
I love how we can bring him back to life in a way , in ourselves when we watch videos like this . I hope where he is now , that he can feel our thoughts and love and that he is still somehow connected . He was so dam good ! R.I.P. TAYLOR . I love watching you play !

I've watched this video alot, since 300k some views. This is my go to youtube video, a true masterpiece in my opinion. No matter how hard or easy the day is for me, this is the video that has helped me through so much in life. On good days I am happy belting out to every word in this, on bad and extremely bad days i'm screaming this out to the world. Long shot that the foos see my comment, but I want to truly thank them for everything they've given to me and to the world. RIP Taylor, what a legend.
I keep coming back to this live recording. They did this in a single take, and kept it real. It's a brilliant performance. Taylor Hawkins is near irreplaceable. Six months after his passing, they're playing tribute gigs to Taylor. God knows what they're going to do next. RIP.
Who else listened to this on fucking max volume enough to do permanent hearing damage, late at night, all at one sitting? The Foo Fighters are the best band ever!
This album(my favorite) joined me every day at the University/College. Always remember the emotional cheers of Taylor with every beat. Thanks a lot man, you were part of my professional career as an Engineer.
I dont understand why people who don't like FooFighters watch the video and then dislike it, It's like eating peanut butter even though you're allergic because you thought it might be different from other peanut butter products.
BRILLIANT Two weeks ago the World Changed and I have been watching video after video and listening to song after song. God Bless the Foo Families in this time of reflecting the contributions you have all made over the incredible years of your passion for creating such great music. Taylor's Legacy will live forever Thanks to All of you... #foofighters #Taylorhawkins #wastinglight
I've listened to them non stop for four weeks now, I'm still absolutely heartbroken... I can't begin to imagine how his family, friends and the foo's must be feeling
What I love about this is how well the cameras track whats going on in the music. You know in other live band videos when they show the bass player during a big drum fill or guitar leads kinda thing? Here the video tells the music's story really well.
still in grief over Taylor's transition. So many great Foo Fighters shows over the years...and even though I have so many sweet memories, it will never be the same and that is sad for all of us.
Taylor and Dave Always inspired me. I just Want to thank you guys for giving the world all this amazing songs. It's an honor to live the same era as FF.
Huge performance, everyone firing. Such a void without the hawk back there…esp when he was absolutely flying. One Of These Days. Fly on TH. Big love Foos X
