@@K1ngCavi i just ate some and have itching in my throat, i ate them some years ago and vomited. hope i'm not allergic to them anymore but not sure what the first symptoms are

I have the same allergy , it is deadly . You should pay attention when ordering something from a restaurant. Also , you should always have epinephrine injection with you when are travelling alone or abroad.

hey mine was just swollen lips not really swollen , i used to eat seafoods even before and now gosh i don't know what happen that suddenly i have an allergy , this time i was suffering to allergy, this is the 3 time i experience swollen lips, 2 times from shrimp and 1 time for crabs, so far today i have a bigger swollen lips than before. and for the record i ate crabs at lunch and mantis shrimp in dinner and my allergy just came out of nowhere, and also not all the times that i ate seafoods its react, and that sucks

My dad was a diver. We grew up eating lobster and abalone which I love. I hadn't eaten any shellfish for several years maybe 20 yrs. One day when my daughter was little we were at the grocery and they had this gorgeous crab on sale. Took some home and cooked them up. We ate lots with melted butter. About an hour later my throat was swelling up. Hubby called poison hotline here in San Diego and told me to drink a quart of milk. They said it would remove the toxin from my system. It worked. The only thing I really miss is the abalone but it's so expensive now no big loss. Thankfully not allergic to salmon. I could eat it every day. Edit: doc said bc I ate a lot as a kid and didn't for several years I developed an allergy to it. Said I could be allergic to chemical in all shellfish or just crab. Would have to be tested. Haven't eaten shellfish since. Too dangerous.

I am allergic to fish scallops and crab but i can tolerate shrimp, clams and lobster which happen to be some of my favorite foods crazy how food allergies work.

@@incubus_the_man it really is crazy, Shrimp and lobster give me a reaction but I’m totally fine with crab and crawfish. Shrimp is so good too so it’s kinda sucks lol

That can change. Shrimp is the only thing that’s ever bothered me till the other night, crab caused an allergic reaction. I ate crab Tuesday night without an issue and Thursday, it made me itchy and swollen. Allergies develo so you never really know

@@emanubanothat happened to me too, I once ate crab legs perfectly fine then a couple days later I ate them again and had a reaction

Be careful. Reactions get worse over time. (Can).

I'd go to an Immunologist and have a test done. A simple skin prick test can tell if you have an allergy. They can also tell you what else you may be allergic to as well, just know that the test isn't always perfectly accurate.

How does it taste

Just found out that I have a shellfish allergy i was getting the rashes but I thought it was just heat rash . As they began to spread all over my body I went to the doctor and found out about it now I am on prednisone and cetirizine waiting to see how fast these hives can stop coming up

ise bakung sofa topically or bathe with baking soda in tub, it works wonders

wow so you're experiencing swallowing problem mine is swollen lips (not really swollen but i can say that it was bigger than before now im afraid to eat shrimps), and this is the third time i experience it , my allergy was out of sudden, sometimes i have sometimes not, and also before i don't have it and gosh it was suck

@@idcleave7566 after I wrote this comment I also saw that my lips where swollen up but I didn't think much of it but guess it's one of the reactions but it didn't last for long meanwhile my throat was sore for 2 days. it was my first time eating it eventho i knew I was allergic to it since I did the pricktest 3 years ago but just wanted to know how I would react to it so tried it hhaahah

If touched you can literally start feeling itchiness around your hands or fingers within minutes or hours after..

@@santanadominguez2210 I only have a sensitivity to shellfish but not an actual allergy, and I only know because of a blood test. I've never eaten shellfish. Can it get any worse than itchiness? Is it mild or significant?

Same as you, never had any allergies. Ate some shrimp after not having for a few years and had a bad reaction. Swelling, itching, hives, etc. No breathing problems though!
