» ABOUT THE GAME - Oxygen Not Included is a space-colony simulation game with a lot of engineering elements. Deep inside an alien space rock your industrious crew will need to master science, overcome strange new lifeforms, and harness incredible space tech to survive, and possibly, thrive. The Frosty Planet Pack DLC features a new world filled with new sub-zero biomes, creatures, planets and more.
» ABOUT THE SERIES - I am playing with only the Frosty Planet Pack DLC and one mod which shows temps in both C and F. The asteroid type is "Ceres" added in by the DLC and the world traits are a Frozen Core and Large Glaciers and with all story traits. This series will be a mix of Tutorial and Let's Play with no specific goal and no focus on min/maxing or copying ideal designs.
» NO SPOILERS/BACKSEATING - The story and mechanics of this games are best enjoyed as they are discovered, not spoiled. Additionally please do not offer unsolicited suggestions, tips, advice or spoilers, the only feedback for the direction of the stream that will be considered is from polling.

One thing I wish the devs would implement for QOL is the ability to choose duplicant traits for your first 3. I know the RNG is part of the fun, but let's be real a lot of us are just rerolling for 2 minutes to get Frost Proof. Lol

Only one that I try to avoid is Farting. The natural gas build up is super annoying but I can deal with anything else.

On oxylite: (I mainly mention this as it seems Rhad avoids digging Oxylite) Personally, I just dig it all out, especially where I'm planning my floors to be. Reason: when digging out 100kg of anything, it loses 50% of it's mass, but for some reason when oxylite gets dug out, it still releases it's "tile"worth of oxygen (100kg Oxylite tile becomes a 50kg debris, which releases 100kg oxygen) This does not apply if it hasn't been dug out, as in Alveo Vera plants drop a 36kg lump of oxylite, which translates to 36kg oxygen, because it was never dug out from the surroundings. @EchoRidgeGaming released a showcase tutorial on this topic a while back, based on many people not being aware of this. It might be true for other sublimators aswell, but I've only verified Oxylite through personal testing.

I didn't know that about the release of the same quantity of oxygen, changes things a bit. Either way I still wouldn't dig it all out for separate reasons that you'll see soon

@@Rhadamant @salemprompthous3820 This is not correct. As with other materials, when an Oxylite block is mined, it loses 50% of its mass. Over time, mined Oxylite emits its full mass as Oxygen. However, Oxylite cells release only 50% of their mass as Oxygen, resulting in the same total mass of Oxygen produced whether mined or not. Mined Oxylite emits Oxygen much slower than full tiles, however, taking longer to fully convert its mass to gas.
