I was dying, and doktors told me to go home and get my affairs in order. I was 40 and couldn't gain weight due to a mitochondrial disorder. I went to a Naturopathic doctor and he saved my life. Throw out the microwave, eat as much organic raw food as possible, no chemicals or preservatives, drink lots of purified water. It worked.
Congratulation on your success. I am all about food as médecin . Could you give me the name of your diagnosis please . Again keep it up. And pass on your discovery .cheers!
This should be tought in every school. We should be tought how we should be connected to the food what we eat. If the governments would care about our health only whole foods would be on the shops' shelves. if there is an aisle in every store called " health foods" then what is the rest of the store?
Good point. I have also noticed that the food I eat never or hardly ever goes on sale. Only the nutrient-poor, overly-processed stuff shows up in sales flyers.
I love this concept!! My only problem is that I don't watch TV so I don't see any ads 🤪 I think if it comes in a bright packet I shouldn't eat it and it the contents are as bright as the packaging then I know it's just outright poison!!
I am a living proof that food is the best medicine ever. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis more than 20 years ago, at the age of 28, with a toddler at home. After wanting to die, I decided to do everything to be able to live a life as 'normal' as possible. I took all sorts of medicines, went into protocols, was even a guinea pig... until some 15 years later, being near to have liver cirrhosis. What helped me was my son's reaction, telling he would give me part of his liver ! I stopped eating gluten AND dairy of any kind, reduced sharply sugar and increased vegetables and here I am, more than in remission, without pain or so little and most of all, I stopped the cancer pills I had been taking for so long !
I have been healthier than iv ever been in my life and at nearly 69 i can enjoy my life with no health issues. When a young girl i was physically very active and never over ate. As soon as i became a young wife and mum at the very young age of 17 my diet changed and not for the better, as i became hooked on over processed rubbish. Over the years i gained weight and started to get all sorts of health issues such as Asthma, IBS and many infections. I became vegan for ethical reasons when i read and saw the truth of the farming and food industries when i was in my fifties and have enjoyed good health since. We are what we eat, and like the very old saying goes let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. When we educate ourselves and know better, we can be and feel better.
I'm a Certified Holistic Health Coach and I know the power of food from first hand experience. My first client was a stage 4 glioblastoma patient who was told she would die in less than a year. Not only did the lifestyle and nutritional changes keep her well but the doctors had no explanation as to why after year one she had no signs of disease. I worked with her for 3 years and gave her the tools she needed to thrive for many more. I'm also a certified yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, reflexologist, and active aging specialist. I have seen many miracles in my practice, none of which involved pharmaceuticals.
Thank you for your encouragement; we need more natural incredible resources & not be slaves to corporate corruption. Our bodies can heal itself when it’s provided with natural healthy nutrients. Thank you to all who participated in this video.
That is truly wonderful! I lost my darling 41 yr old daughter to glioblastoma 7 yrs ago, and would have given anything to have had this knowledge and been able to help her using nutritional changes. She lived 19 months from diagnosis. Last year, my husband lost his 67 yr old cousin to same thing after only 8 months. She was a nurse and researched every treatment available, but nutrition was never considered. God bless you❤️
@@ronreagan3969 Yes, you're right, but it depends on the kind of sex. Studies have shown that sex in marriage (when you love your partner) is healing... but promiscuous sex is not healing because it has been proven to cause psychological and physical problems.
I gave up all sugars and processed foods, gave up all grains, went keto, ate whole foods, started alternate day fasting and… my energy went way up, brain fog is gone, lost some stubborn pounds, resolved some autoimmune issues, and my pretty nasty joint pains are gone… completely. It’s amazing what a good diet and fasting can do to heal a body!
It’s so wonderful & amazing to finally see ordinary people & MDs, realizing that, of course, nutrition effects us...we are part of nature & it seems most allopathic physicians, not all, but many don’t even consider we are part of nature, which is so...idiotic, imho. So...I’m thrilled that the elderly doctor has other colleagues who are thinking in sync! Great news! Thanks for this great documentary!!! 🎯🎉🙌🏼😊
you could of course go vegan and have the same effects and even better long term prognosis. Without the emphasis on cruel animal farming methods (which is how MOST meat animals are raised these days - especially in America).
Grieving is indeed part of the healing process when it comes to a change in our nutritional lifestyle. Leaving old eating habits and foods behind is like losing an old friend. But it is absolutely necessary and on the other side is freedom and good health.
You touched the heart of the matter in what you said. Facing food in that way in order to change our health is major. Kinda have to let go of the bad friend and keep the good one
Glad you said this! I had a gallbladder attack few weeks ago and my doctor was said NO beef and no more greasy food. Letting go of greasy food wasn't too hard since I saw it as a treat...then made it too much of a unconscious habit. BUT no more beef has been the HARDEST part, but I don't dare eat it again since the pain of the attack was worst pain I ever had (and I had endometriosis pain...this was worse).
For myself, i had no choice when what i ate changed completley. I was injured and had no income for 3 months.spent a whole winter eating rice, eggs, onions, Many days id have only one meal a day, no snacks, tea and coffee to drink. I noticed suprisingly i was feeling healthier and more energetic with less and more basic food. So i started to add to that by buying beans, dry peas and lentils, Sesame seeds and blueberries, Sprouting for my fresh food, beans replacing most of my previous meat. Its obvious to me hownthe different foods help!!! Now i just eat this way and wouldnt go back to my old ways of eating. Plus this way is very affordable for such healthy food.
Me too. I went on disability for a rare anxiety disorder at age 42. I refused to live by what they told me. Threw out all the meds and fought the illness. I was told that at my age (70), I would basically be nonfuctioning or dead. Instead I am healthy. The last two years we started fasting one day a week and eating raw two days a week. What amazed me was how my moods stablized like they never had before. I was furious with all the therapy, doctors etc. no one told me just changing those few things would help me so much.
Hey I hope you have the same results. Not only do I feel so much better it's also kicked me into reality that I wnat to change my lifestyle. I never knew I could feel this good; and am so sorry that doctor's don't tell us just changing our diet is huge...Best of luck. I will be praying for your journey. For me, it worked. @@brittanyfields7090
I’m 69 and went though chemotherapy and radiation treatments! I was 178lbs today my health is better because I lost weight, I’m how 122lbs, my diabetes is under control, numbness in my foot is gone and my hair is growing back faster!
When 1st arrived in the US of A...from France, I was introduced to different foods that I categorically refused to ingest as I love to cook fresh meals daily, I am blessed w/excellent health by following my own guidance!
There are many documentaries about food being medicine. Forks over knives, what the health, and many others. This one is good but I don't agree with eating any sugar at all. Sugar feeds cancer. Added oil made my cholesterol go overboard. I wasn't eating animal products so it wasn't from milk or flesh.
I am european and I find incredible how little americans know about nutrition. At home we cook with fresh foods every single meal. Even at my child school they do not offer processed foods as burguers, sausages... For dessert fruit or yoghourt
It's an agenda that the Elites have brainwashed the Americans to eat processed foods instead of the healthy foods that Americans use to eat before the 1950's: a Ketogenic Diet with organic pasture raised grass fed meats and eggs, Olive oil, grass fed butter, avocados, organic leafy greens like Kale etc... But now Americans eat processed hexane seed oils, GMO, tons of carbohydrates (especially sugar, wheat and GMO corn), GMO corn fed meats, GMO potatoes. high fructose GMO corn syrup in sweet drinks, etc...
Americans have been lied to by our government in bed with Big Agriculture for decades. My entire life has been a lie when it comes to food. It is so hard to find the truth, you really have to look for it. Your doctor likely won't tell you what is actually healthy for you, they get paid to write you a prescription for a pill, and most people are happy to take it because it's easy.
Reflux - Don't drink with your meals and you'll notice a huge change in 7 days!! Always hydrate between meals & drink enough water so your stomach can make enough hydrochloric acid for the next day. Also.....don't eat after the sun sets and make sure that's 2 hours prior to bedtime.....you'll sleep better, too. 😉🙏🏽💗
Many people find that rebuilding the Acid and alkaline reserve capacity with a spoonful of apple cider vinegar and a spoonful of blackstrap molasses is helpful to restore stomach acid
Until you try it you'll never know how good you can feel. It's when there's no cure that most people head down this road, myself included. I had endometriosis and was given pain killers and the option of a hysterectomy. A friend recommended her nutritionist and my body responded immediately. Being completely pain free I started to take it for granted and the slippery slope of bad eating increased. Endo pain came roaring back. A colleague with recurring urinary tract infections also went to the same clinic and after years of being on and off antibiotics had complete relief just through changing her diet. Give it a try - nothing to lose and so much to gain.
Thanks for sharing! I resonate with your friend’s issue! I’ve done thorough research on how to naturally heal my uti (which I was told is from the bacteria Streptococcus agalactiae). Initially, I took a prescribed antibiotic but it had no affect at all whatsoever! They tried to prescribe me something stronger, but when I looked into it, there were immense negative side effects, even someone dying! I changed the way that I was eating but the symptoms got worse because the bacteria fed off of water and nutrition (like humans do), so I was intuitively led to go on a dry fast, which is when you starve your cells and they eat the dead cells, which also contains water (endogenous)! I can tell the progression since going on my fast, and once it’s over on Sunday, I will start back on my raw Whole Foods plant based diet!

Yes the add sugar I've learned so much from reading labels all the extra junk that's in the foods is shocking some of the foods that were made in the U.S. are now made in other countries .

I had medical problems with my kidneys and my liver. When I saw the numbers I was scared shitless. Sorry for that word, but that’s how I felt. I completely changed how I ate for months. Cut out all animal products and anything processed. When they ran my numbers again I was in shock. My numbers were in the normal range. My liver was healthy. I have also reversed my diabetes and my high blood pressure. No more meds. I feel fantastic.
@@Livetoeat171 vegan means plants Vegetarian is animal stuff Veggies cooked with whatever you want to add: legumes (even from cans), tofu, tempeh, sausages and burgers from the store (some of them are very good, like anything else, some are not. Plant based means foods griwn in the ground-veggies, fruits, salads, beans, grains, etc... vegan means no animal products. I know vegans who eat oreos, drink soda, and eat all sorts of processed & packaged foods... vastly different vs a person that eats whole plant foods. I'd only eat the non meat burgers as a transition. There are fantastic black bean burger, lentil burger, etc recipes. Stay away from non organic soy like what is in so e processed & packaged meat substitutes.
@@earthmama9597 I try to stay away from processed food as much as possible. There is also so much hidden sugars in a lot of things. I use to eat Heinz Ketchup, but found it had a lot of added sugar and the ingredients are crap. Now I buy Primal Kitchen ketchup. It’s not bad.
What is most striking to me while watching this is how emotional people get when trying to eliminate poisons from their diet. If you look at the bad food as poison wrapped in a pretty package, then it’s really easy to make that choice. It’s a no-brainer. It shouldn’t be this emotional to look at the facts.
Just because it's poison doesn't mean it doesn't make you happy or take the edge off in high-stress times. You're absolutely right that it is poison and needs to be cut out, but there is a reason people keep turning back to those poisons; they help people get through the misery of each day. When I ate super clean and exercised daily, the misery of living didn't go away, I just no longer had any way to ease it a bit. Again, you're right about needing to remove poison, but it is in no way as easy as you think it should be for people who are just trying to get through the day, rather than the decades.
@@marcushoward6560 oh I get it. I still eat comfort foods. But, I choose my wisely, you can still comfort food without chemicals. Without all the poison. There are alternatives out there. Next, our country needs to work on their emotions.
Food is an emotive subject for so many of us though. And sugar is addictive, it's a fact. It takes a cognitive shift to see it for what it is, but there are still emotional issues which need addressing as well.
Thank you so much for sharing a very important message. This movie was part of how I saved myself when no one else knew how to help. Food is powerful. It's mind blowing what happens when your missing necessary nutrients for your body. And its amazing what can happen when you nourish your body with what it needs!
I know an SDA pastor who was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He went to and SDA health center for 6 months and ate a vegan diet, exercised daily, and prayed often. His cancer went away and has been cancer free since. That was over 5 years ago.
You still NEED meat, ruminant animals are best. Meat provides nutrition you just cannot get from plants, no combination of plants can provide ALL the nutrition you do get from meat. Many people here have gone Carnivore, Keto and meat heavy also known as Ketovore is a really great way to get a little veg but more meat into our bodies for complete proteins/nutrition. I'm a living example! I am Ketovore and my health and bloodwork has never been better in my life! Also there are scientific studies proving a less lengthy life only eating veg. Look them up and also see Ken D Berry MD here on RU-vid.
Meats are highly acidic to our bodies and fill our systems with hormones and neurotransmitters, dioxin, etc.. from the animal. These chemicals build up in our systems, Cause disease and inflammation. If you have any chronic disease especially with inflammation or joint pain, eliminating meats and dairy are crucial for healing.
There's another Seventh Day Adventist man who went full carnivore because he was getting nowhere with the sad churches vegan diet for years. His health immediately transformed.
I liked the concept of the video and empowering people to take their health into their own hands. I didn’t like how they still tried to villainize fats in the film, fats aren’t the enemy, sugar and processed foods are. I think everyone should figure out what way of eating is best for their body. I have an undiagnosed autoimmune disease that doctors couldn’t figure out, it’s most likely RA due to an elevated RA factor. Anyway, I started on my own journey to heal myself after I went to a migraine doctor and she told me it was just gonna get worse and that my only option was medicine for the rest of my life. I said no and walked out. I found Carnivore a few years ago, and within a couple months I was off my blood pressure medication, my ADHD was better, no more joint pain, no more burning skin, no more muscle issues, no more sleep apnea, etc. After a year I lost about 50 pounds. The past year I did really bad and started eating the Standard American Diet (SAD) on and off, and felt like shit days after each time. I am finally back on track with Carnivore for over a month and am back to my healthy self. I also naturally do IF with Carnivore, and every once in a while do an extended fast. The hardest part is definitely the social aspect, the shit food that is all around you, and how addicting companies have made their food. FYI, I’m only 32.
More education on the difference between healthy and unhealthy fats is vital. And it's pretty basic that naturally occuring fats such as those in nuts, avocado etc are great while unnatural processed fats such as vegetable oil are terrible for you.
Bless you, and well done for finding your own path. I think every healthcare "professional" will just try to guide you towards some prescriptive medicine, which in the case of auto-immune diseases just partially alleviate some symptoms, but lead to ever increasing doses and consequently side-effects! There's a clue in the name of auto-immune, it's the immune system railing against something within the body, which is always a toxin of either environmental or food origin. I've heard of people having success on a vegan diet, but I think in this case and yours, it is mainly due to the removal of crap from the diet. Wish you all the success in the world on your path. Greg.
Good fat: coconut oil, grass fed butter, and pure olive oil (at low temperature~ not for frying) Bad fat: seed oils, vegetable, corn, soy, cottonseed, canola etc and shortening. Grass fed beef and wild caught fish like sardines, salmon and tuna are good. But limit tuna because of mercury. Congrats that you discovered your path to Health. Jordan Peterson’s daughter eats the carnivore diet and that cured her of a multitude of serious problems.
Once I went to a corporate training and the coffee break had fruits! I was amazed for days! But no one eats. They go crazy on cakes and snacks and the fruit go bad, so the company has no incentive to continue doing that.
HAVE never seen this AMAZING VIDEO BEFORE…but have recently started EATING much more whole FOOD AND am so GRATEFUL for this Additional INFORMATION…and HEARING from a MEDICAL DOCTOR…makes this so POWERFUL…GOD BLESS and THANK YOU
I must have grown up at the worst possible time - the 60s and 70s - in terms of eating all the most wretched processed foods, which wouldn't have even existed when my parents were growing up - Fruit Loops and Capn Crunch and Sugar Corn Pops (total yum) were every breakfast for my entire childhood. The amount of sugar I consumed on a daily basis as a child staggers me as an adult. And my father was a BRILLITANT doctor, Harvard educated, and you'd think he MUST have known something about nutrition since his specialty was Diabetes! No wonder I was a fat kid; growing up fat impacted my self esteem to such a massive degree as a child and for the rest of my life, even though I lost the weight in my early 20s. I think my life would have turned out so differently if I had been eating eggs or fresh fruit for breakfast every day, something so simple. Now I would like to go back in time please to make that happen. And I am not at all saying my life is bad now as I am a really happy and successful YT creator, but I know there are so many things I would have liked to try over the years but just knew that as a fat person (even when I wasn't fat anymore) I wasn't good enough and would fail. This documentary is fascinating.
I grew up in 60.s and ate food not junk food. Cokes, chips etc were a treat not the norm.we couldn’t afford junk food. My dad was a driller for oilfield. Poor folk use to eat the best food. Wild game an fish also.
Fruits are not healthy, they turn to fat in the liver... Seek knowledge of how they were altered to have more sugar, The brain was able to use sugar for energy, but it's not its favorite food, I'm on a 98% meat diet, and I'm improving my health, but I know it's a long way to go, Information and misinformation is what we have the most, learn what is good or bad just by practicing on your body
I grew up the exact same way., But didn’t have parents that knew what yours did. I’m astonished at what we ate also. I’m amazed I am as healthy as I am.
Agree, you are responsible for your own health. Don't take for gospel what doctors tell you. I'm speaking from experience. I've watched my father, my mother and my partner go through health issues. I'm totally against medication.

Is it just since the industrial revolution that we have come to distrust nature so much? It's a beautiful thing that nature gives us everything we need, and yet if some treatment is "natural," we say yeah, sure, that's cute, but give me the real stuff, I need the drugs! I am not at all saying that I am against medications. This would be a far harsher world without antibiotics and painkillers, etc. Praise Jesus for modern medicine can I get an amen! But what an amazing world we'd have if we all ate the bounty of nature instead of all the processed white killer foods and PREVENTED so many illnesses in the first place. MAKE EVERY DAY EARTH DAY BABY!
I never use pharmaceutical antibiotics. Only natural medicines including colloidal and ionic silver which are the best antibiotics available and totally without side effects.
remember too that when your diet changes to raw, you will feel sick, why? because its softening all the build up to remove.. this is just for a time tho ok.. we all have to go through the healing crisis of a rash, headache, pimples even a high temperature.. macrophages need a temperature to kill the virus or bad bacteria. its removing the degeneration first so then you will rejuvenate .. you cant have a empty bin unless you get rid of the trash ( waste inside you).. you are worth living healthy. arnt you??? acid is the killer of cells.. raw is alkaline. you dont need a degree to realise this..
It always boggles my mind that natural "meds" work far better than pills. Went on a mountain hike of just a mile and I was sore for 3 days, used ibuprofen but no relief. Drank raspberry tea and in 30 minutes the pain was gone.
They rarely ate out at restaurants & and seldom snackes. Same I noticed in France when I spent some weeks there. The residents often took brown bag lunches & sat by Siene river banks or in parks & drank wine & had fatty food (not junk food) the restaurants were for tourists they often told me. & seldom were at fast food. Also growing up in 60 & 70’s there was very little eating out except for special occasions & snacks were seldom allowed, and often missed meals & were active & busy.
it's brilliant to finally see what I have believed all my life instinctively is taken as 'a New Idea', yet is being made accessible and 'non shaming' those who are striving to be better and more healthy for themselves and the flow-on effect to their families and children - therefore breaking the cycle of illnesses that can so easily be overcome with Nutrition as a part of their new journey in their Life itself. Thank you for this movie and Thank you to all those people who are helping people to Live a Life.
Thank you for the tremendous inspiration thru your very moving experiences, courage and determination. You all look so much better by the end of the film. Keep on keeping on! Following you all.
I enjoyed watching this movie and I was familiar with Dr. Wahls amazing story. However, I have to say that I felt that only half the story was being told. It's not just what you eat, it's also how often you should eat. There was no mention about fasting, intermittent fasting and the benefits...such as autophagy. It doesn't explain the insulin story which could be why the participants in the film were having trouble staying on their new diets. It also seemed to promote fruits, which are high in fructose and inflammatory. I thought for sure Dr. Jason Fung would be contributing to explain. I'm 58. I've lost 115lbs so far since November by following Dr Fung, reading his books (The Obesity Code) , eating a low carb high fat diet and intermittent fasting. I'm off my blood pressure meds, my osteoarthritis pain is so much better I'm able to be active again and swimming and my asthma is gone. The film gave me the impression it was just all about will power and eating well. It's not. Dr Fung could have explained why.
So, in other words, you were overeating and you are not overeating any more. Are you still obese? If you think fasting has nothing to do with will power, you are wrong. The reason intermittent fasting works is because it helps to prevent you from overeating. I lost 100 pounds without fasting and I have kept that weight off for the last 4 years. I eat fruit. I take NO prescription drugs and have NO chronic illnesses or diseases. I am 64. I am 5'4" and I weigh 115 pounds. You are eating a restrictive diet that includes restricting carbohydrates. I eat a diet that only includes restricting calories. I only eat enough calories as I burn per day. I eat a healthy mix of all 3 macronutrients. We need all 3 macronutrients. Stop demonizing or glorifying particular macronutrients. The REAL PROBLEM is that we make poor food choices - junk food processed food - and we OVEREAT. Our bodies' organs were NOT made to process such huge quantities of junk food. Intermittent fasting is a mind trick to get overeaters to stop eating so much. And restrictive diets like keto are a trick to make you focus more on your food choices. All restrictive diets are all about the magic pill magic formula mentality - from vegan to carnivore. The scientific reality is that calories (a measure of energy) consumed have to be less than calories burned in order to lose body fat. Bonus scientific fact. Fat has 9 calories per gram. Carbohydrate is around 4 calories per gram. Protein is around 4 calories per gram.
@@margochanning6868 I really think you would enjoy reading The Obesity Code. And also The Cancer Code. Calories in vs calories out just doesn't work for MOST people for the long haul. You are an exception ☺️. If it did, we wouldn't have an obesity epidemic like we do now because that is what we've been told to do for the past 20-30 years. It's what I was told..... time and time again. And I would lose weight, and gain it back. I would often say " Losing weight is easy! I've done it hundreds of times." Ever wonder why the TV show The biggest loser doesn't have reunion shows? The language of the body is hormones, not calories. The body doesn't know what a calorie is. Hormones react to what we eat. When your insulin is low (not eating or fasting) your body switches to using stored food (body fat) for energy. It can only do this when insulin is low. Once it learns to use body fat for energy and learns to feed itself, the hunger goes away. This is why I don't get hungry during my 48hr. fasts. The hunger hormones are very powerful. You can't just decide not to be hungry. Natural fats trigger satiety hormones and don't raise insulin. Fasting allows your body to feed itself from body fat. It's what it's supposed to do and perfectly natural. It's also not a new fad or trick. People have been fasting since the beginning of time. All religions have required it for their followers. They called it cleansing (autophagy). More and more they are finding benefits of fasting... even if you don't need to lose weight (Cancer prevention, Alzheimer's prevention etc.). Interesting stuff! I think you would appreciate the information in his books and lectures. I wish I would have learned this year's ago. No wonder I struggled most of my life. I get it now. I've paraphrased a lot of what I remember from Dr. Fung's videos and books.... and other doctors I follow. My life has been changed forever ❤️ P.s. There are no "essential" carbs we need. Unrefined, natural carbs have nutrients we can use and benefit from, but they are not essential. Google it😉
@@margochanning6868 Sorry to say, that you couldn't be more wrong! I'm glad YOUR strategy is working for you, but think you need to be careful that your THOUGHTS, though working for you, or so you say; but that reality is something very different. Good luck in your journey.
Like they say, “It’s a process.” Unless you have SUPER control (and who does - honestly) you will fall off your plan. But you get right back on. You try to find other ways to disengage from emotional eating. Some new eating benefits work relatively quickly (days to weeks), while some take months to heal and some even years. But eventually you’ll heal. Don’t give up:)
I worked for 18 months, almost 7 days a week, 12 hour days in a government-funded clinic during the earlier part of the pandemic. I'm also a personal trainer but ended up eating a lot of the crap management put in the clinic breakroom for us. I got so sick! I developed horrible insomnia and was misdiagnosed as having schizophrenia. I was even put on medication for schizophrenia. The medication caused me to have a wreck (because I don't have schizophrenia) and now I've been charged with a DUI because the accident was medication related. It is imperative that I eat correctly. My life is a mess right now because of FOOD and medication I should have never been on. If my nutrition had been good, I would have never been on the medication. Unfortunately, the district attorney thinks that's all a bogus attempt for me to dodge a bullet. The accident was 18 months ago but because of the slowness of the court system, I'll probably be spending Christmas in jail this year and then lose my driver's license for a year. FOOD people FOOD! So important!
The important thing is that you are now finding the right way to live a better life, Organize the mess that has become your life slowly, One day at a time, and you'll get where you want to go, I believe it's health Work with the positives of the things that happened in your life, even if they are negative things, but believe me they are never just negative, We can learn from mistakes, voluntary and involuntary, but in this world we are conditioned to see only the negative side, Information is all or nothing, and disinformation is even worse, Surely we've been fed all our lives wrongly, But our body is potent to self-regenerate and achieve much more in much less time, I'm changing my life little by little, my story is not very interesting, But today I am sure that my mission on earth is to help people better understand what our mission on earth is, *Make this place a little better than we found it* Wherever your best is, even if you don't know what your best is, But know, Every step of yours on this earth is a story to be told by you, do your best, even if it all seems very bad, Rest assured, health and food go hand in hand
The medical system is geared towards pills. The health system does not make it easy to get help to change lifestyle. People are bombarded with advertising saying products are healthy when they are not. People are not helped to change. But you are right, it is very sad... :(
@SarahMontana666 Hi! What micronutrients would you assume would be missing? Keto isn't as restrictive as the media would have people believe. A healthy keto diet still includes fruits and vegetables. I only eat whole foods, nothing in a bag or a box, quit drinking, and stay away from wheat and processed foods. Also, if you include things like beef liver and sardines, you will cover any nutrient gap there may be. The only supplement I take is an electrolyte mix due to my training. Hope this helps!
@@mystyboarder910 this is a very well informed response- thank you. Friends I know who are on keto just eat meat and butter and cheese and don’t have fruits or vegetables so I’m always anxious about nutrient gaps. Sounds like you are truly eating a very healthy diet in my humble opinion. Thanks so much for your response! Have a great weekend. 💖
@@SarahMontana666 Fruits and vegetables are overrated. Meat including organ meat includes everything a human needs. There is no nutrient or vitamin or mineral missing.
It’s been 58 days of me eating no sugar and processed foods I also exercise and have begun brisk walking every morning I don’t even have period pains anymore and I don’t feel dull
I really enjoyed this documentary. Food is medicine. It's sad that so.many people have become sick because of their diets. Good to see that positive changes are being made with the mobile fresh produce markets. I hope this can be a trend to help people eat better. The US have everything the wrong way round junk food is cheap and healthy food is expensive for alot of people.
I went full carnivore in late December of this past year. I did slip up for I am a sugar addict. I have now lost about 21 pounds, but the medical benefits are the most important to me. I lost arthritis in my hip, back, and knee, lost twice a week migraines, lost twice a year vertigo and lost crippling anxiety. My teeth are stronger and whiter! I am 54 years old and healthier than ever! I get everything I need with meat, and no liver for me.
So much great information here. My husband told me to step away from the microwave. He could feel radiation going into me. Europe doesn't allow microwave ovens except when they know folks from US are coming. Listening to our body is so important. Each of us is unique. We need to know our own strengths. Listening to the Counsel of God's Holy Spirit makes it easier. To live is Christ, to die is gain. Our body is God's Temple. We must honor it
After watching this movie with an open mind from beginning to end {I didn't know what the movie was about}, I am now much more convinced that a whole food plan-based diet is a much better answer for chronic and autoimmune illnesses. All of the people in this movie don't do nearly as well as the whole food plant-based people I know. And having a perfect weight/shape was just a wonderful and unintended side effect of a whole food plant based diet.
@char Thank you! Your comment inspired mine. I believe this film is designed to undermine peoples’ ability to discover the healing power of whole plant nutrition by keeping them confused and on the wrong track.
@@kimnielsen5692 I've obtained lots of facts and self experiences over the decades to provide answers that can help. To start please realize when our digestive system goes thru good changes it acts a lot like our skeletal muscles. It takes time to get stronger healthier and there's discomfort and maladjustment during transition. All temporary. Had them myself. Now I eat whole plant foods including all the "trouble causing" foods all day long! Never gain an ounce. Always high energy. Aging well @ 50. Even occasionally get naughty and eat processed food.
@@kimnielsen5692 dear please give yourself time. All the contradicting info can be confusing. Check out Michael Greger, physicians committee, Will Bulsiewicz. Good luck!
Happy that you have found your way to thrive with good health. However, over my extensive reading of people's stories in the last few years I realise that nobody can say "my way is the best". We need to say "this way keeps me healthy." One thing looks pretty certain for good health for all - drop processed foods. After that, individuals can have issues with dairy, eggs, various plants, seeds, nuts, meat. Some people just need to eat meat to do well - not even necessarily all types of meat. Others are fine with all types of natural products (this is me - but I keep carbs low to avoid diabetes). Others are best only with plants - with or without eggs/dairy (although supplements can be vital). I just can't deny all those anecdotes from people saying "I am feeling so good, in such good health, now that I am doing X" Please have an open mind!
Agreed, that is what gave me peace about eating a plant based diet. I suffered from anemia most of my life. So I was concerned about giving up meat. But no meat, and my anemia is gone. I was so brainwashed thi king I had to eat meat to have proper nutrition. Not true...obviously.
@@monicapoole2115 Aw wow that's awesome! Yeah, I learnt this year also... That even after the fall; 'bread' was actually the "meat." Eating animals only came after the flood. I haven't fully given up meat completely, I still am eating it on weekends. But, I hope in the future I eat it even more sparingly, or not at all!
@@jess1987 I don't think it's necessary to be plant perfect to reap the benefit. Jesus ate meat, fish at least and lamb since he observed passover. But being plant predominant I think is super healthful, not only for the individual, bit for the collective as I do believe we cannot sustain the level of animal food consumption and have a sustainable earth. And the animals are certainly not sustained!
The girl with the purple shirt hit close to home because that’s the first time I heard about someone with the same type of chronic joint pain as me- in the wrist and ankle - and currently I am trying to fix it with diet because nothing else is working so it’s definitely from diet for sure- I relate to the lady with the black shirt as well cuz I was severely disabled from my condition and it’s just now starting to clear up
Watch forks over knives, eating you alive and secret ingredients-all documentaries and it will save your life. To sum it up eat Whole Foods plant based no oils and do organic. Guaranteed all aches pains all chronic conditions will go all away!!!!
I knew for years I was lactose intolerant. I didn't know I was sensitive to so many other foods (soy, wheat, corn and etc) until I went Keto 5 years ago and stopped eating all of that. My gut health improved, my acid reflux is controlled naturally, my A1C went down, my IBS is under control, and a lot of my skin inflammation (eczema) is so much better.
Watch secret ingredients and u might be able to eat corn soy and wheat again ONLY IF ITS ORGANIC. Btw soy corn and wheat have so much more pesticides than other food items. Corn and soy hv 400-700 more pesticides than reg food item. Can not afford not to watch secret ingredients documentary on RU-vid everyone
As a poor person, food is a luxury. Organic foods? Affording regular fresh food is often beyond my financial means. Food banks hand out expired and moldy food. Many of us indigents are killing ourselves eating from food banks. The food they have is usually high carb, high sugar. I'm old and disabled, therefore, expendable.
You can try OMAD (one meal a day) to have a nutritious meal with maybe a magnesium glycinate for better sleep and prevent cramps, and vitamin D3 + K2 supplement depends how well you absorb sunlight if its necessary or not, best supplements for the price and benefits. Look into intermittent fasting. Some foods that are pretty cheap and nutritious: sardines in water, pasture raised eggs, fermented saurkraut with garlic, and grass fed butter. Also making your own bone broth maybe an option for another protein and collagen option. 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar with the mother diulted in 8 oz of water helps with heart burn. There is the clean 15 list that has veggies with the least amount of pesticides that doesn't need to be organic as much.
If you can only afford a little food I would suggest beef. You will be less hungry, if at all, and can survive on it without other foods for awhile judging by my own experiences.
Find a family own store and offer to buy what they are about to get rid of , most often stores throw out food that is actually still good . Beans are a great way to stretch your money and tasty .
Great movie, great message. But they confused one thing, FAT. It is not our enemy, it doesn't spike insulin and it promotes satiety. Sugars & carb dense foods, processed anything, certain fruits are all contributors to calorically dense, unhealthy triggers. In today's world, one has to navigate, investigate and advocate for their health. Conventional doctors will be trigger happy to write you that script to take away the causes but never do the deep dive into the symptoms. Create your own meals with organic produce and clean ingredients, grass-fed meats and eggs, wild caught fish and plenty of water. 8 hrs of full sleep and mindful exercise. See in a Century😉
I'm so impressed with how the people on camera were able to share their weaknesses and their victories. I wonder how to get people to open up with a camera in their face. Kudos.
As a behavioral scientist, I think it’s important to point out how bad of a job the clinician did at 55:45 when the artist woman was upset. Instead of allowing the client to feel their feelings, dive into them, and then come up with their own reasons for change, the clinician acts as an expert who knows the right answer. We learn day 1 in Social Work that this kind of approach doesn’t work. Amazing that many clinicians do it.
This is so true. i lost my lower jaw from cancer. i put it all down to my lifestyle in my younger days. have changed the way i eat and live feeling so much better. i can only feed myself with a peg(feeding tube) it can be done
Read Genesis chapter 1 and Daniel chapter 1. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes. That is God's plan. He made you, He knows what is best. By the way, "you must be born again" to go to Heaven. Are you born again?
I have remitting relapsing MS. I was on the Wahls protocol for 3.5 years and have switched to a Whole Foods plant based diet after that. I used to get numb fingers and a numb forearm frequently. I also used to bite my tongue all the time, since I was loosing control of my jar movements. Ever since I changed to the Wahls paleo plus protocol, those symptoms went away. I also have not had any relapse in 6 years. I do take medication, but taking medication did not have any impact on my symptoms. They are meant to delay relapses. The body is able to repair some of the damages of MS. One thing that I want to point out is that we are all different and some of our diet approaches need to be fine tuned for our needs. For me, being dairy free is important. I can tolerate beans if they have been pressure cooked for 30 minutes. I started baking my own bread, using mainly spelt flour. Eating a variety of vegetables is important no matter if you choose a paleo or vegan approach. You may have different needs, but it is likely that there is a diet that can help you to at least manage your condition better if not even improve your condition. Give it a try! (Keep going to the doctor though!)
@@victoriaandreevna2658 I am on a Whole Foods plant based diet now. I was on the Wahls protocol for 3.5 year, but switched since eating pasture raised meat is not sustainable. I feel pretty much the same health wise, but now I also feel good about the fact that I am helping the planet now. If both of them work for you, I recommend wfpb. Of course, if you only see progress with Wahls, I can understand if you want to stick to that!
@@sebastiandoerfert8668 thank you so much for your comment . I was 10 years vegetarian but with some dairy occasionally and some junk once in a while like a vegetation pizza or so, I felt so good ! Then , I decided to introduce chicken and other meats .. and ..,., ms hit my cerebellum BIG TIME! 4 * 3 cm lesion.... not sure If there is a connection but after this exacerbation, I am a wfbb vegan and recover pretty fast. So.. a long story short ... you are on a right path , in my humble opinion ..
My 20-year battle with ankylosing spondylitis is gone by eating grain free. It came back when I accidentally ate gluten three times. Symptoms lasted approximately 1 week

Great presentation, I applaud the makers of this movie and especially the participants, It takes courage to put your life out in the public sphere to be scrutinized by other people. I wish them all success on their journeys. The underlying theme of this presentation clearly advocates for the paleo diet. This is not an issue as a natural whole foods paleo diet is head and shoulders above the standard American food triangle. Eating this way after eating highly processed foods will clearly make you healthier. My only criticism is that in a 1:24 minute video about food as medicine they don't even talk about sugar until the 1:16 minute mark. That and the veiled demonization of fat that was eluded to in a few of the presenters comments.
This was awesome, and backs up everything I know and observe. I've been on a whole food plant based diet for 2 years for health reasons, I have gallstones, diverticula, had a colon polyp removed and was morbidly obese. Now no more gallbladder pain and down 60 pounds so far. I love the food that I eat. This documentary contained some awesome businesses that I am hopeful that here in the UK we will start to see the same. It would also be great to start whole food groups like meeting at a restaurant once a month that will cater for us and spreading the word.
! @T-aka-T I hope you will consider moving to a plant based diet. One of the main carnivore guys in the U.S. has admitted he was wrong and he is eating carbs now. Our gut microbiome needs fiber. Only plants have fiber. If you don't eat fiber, your intestinal lining is the only carbs available for some of your microbiome to eat. Yikes...eat some fiber !!@@T-aka-T
@@trishstauble3461 Nope. 😏 I did the plant-heavy thing with keto, nearly killed me (oxalates and nightshades were the worst, but God knows what the phytates were doing to me). Have reversed about 20 years on carnivore. So thank you, I appreciate the thought if not the "warning" (I've done my research as well as my N=1 - and there are also a lot of vegans reforming.) If you mean Saladino - yeah, well, right - nah. 🤔 He exercises 3 or 4 hours a day to burn off the fruit and honey he added (but still eats mostly meat). And no - I don't need fiber either. Gut has fixed itself on carnivore. So, rest easy, there's no yikes about it, certainly for my N=1. Cheers to you anyway. I'm happy as a clam! Glad you are too.🙂
I appreciate that this documentary stressed that food as medicine is not one specific meal plan, but rather can present differently depending on an individual's specific needs. The biggest common denominator seems to be less processed food of course. :) I can speak to my own experience, that I used to get random bouts of hives that we could not explain through record keeping or allergy tests. Once I left home I had the option to stop eating meat, and a couple of years passed as a vegetarian before I realized that I hadn't experienced another flare-up since. I still haven't-- I won't go back to eating meat now that I know I don't /have/ to go weeks at a time with horrible rashes! But I can't exactly prescribe that everyone do the same thing for all cases; maybe that's not a tenable strategy for someone with severe legume allergies. Every body's different!
You are right - lots of people have issues with plants - and find a carnivore diet is best for them. Of course, cut out everything in a packet or an advertisement!
Its more than likely the types of meat you were eating rather than just all meat ever. Meat should always be free range, grass fed and unprocessed (no additives, preservatives) people don't always consider this and just leap straight to vegetarianism when it may not have been the issue. Also if one does eat meat, one should eat offal regularly as those are the most nutrient dense cuts. And bone broth too.
Actually not being obligate carnivores, 99.99% ofl humans can thrive on whole food plant based diet. There are soooo many variations within this diet and there will be one that would suit most people.
I went vegan for 2 years, it nearly killed me, I got oxalate poisoning and had many strange symptoms. Now I just eat a simple meat and veg diet, no grain, no heavy oxalate veg, n9 dairy, all organic.
How I wish I can meet the same supportive community locally but if not I am looking forward to joining virtually so I can put my mom off from various types of pills. Thank you!
"we understand just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the gut microbiome. We are starting to understand how profound and far reaching their effects are". Couldn't agree more!
Thank you sharing this wonderful documentary! It gives me hope for our future! I’m in the process of creating a permaculture garden in my urban home, in my retirement years. I understand the symbiotic connection from nature to human health & nature’s health. This movie enforces this. 🤗❤️🇨🇦
I wish Western doctors would institute even just a meager diet and exercise program for every patient before prescribing medications (depending on the problem of course). Why prescribe a medication for what the body can do on it’s own. It’s amazing how exercise has solved nearly every nagging ache and pain I’ve had. I suffered from chronic daily headaches/migraines for 20 years. 2 years ago I was at the end of my rope getting 25 headaches/month. I had nagging necks stiffness that the dr said was arthritis. Aerobic exercise cured it all. I went from overusing my prescribed medication and untold number of nsaids to nearly 0. Light jogging, biking and swimming has cured it all.
The emphasis in this movie is strongly focused on food which is just a part of healing. We may not forget the power of fasting and meditation as a more holistic approach to healing. Stress does not only come from eating bad food but I admit it's a huge factor. The world inside and outside they are intimately connected. We still live in an environment where a huge pressure is imposed on people which is a huge contributor of stress which is harmful for our health. Before we can eat healthy we first have to think about producing food organically and creating a clean non pollutive environment. The most important food comes from the kind of air we breathe. The environment we live in. This has to be the focus before being able to produce food that is healthy..
Hello from France 👋 One of the best I have ever seen. Quite touching ..the sincerity humanity the victories and seeming defeats! For filthy lucre sake , some people are tinkering with our greatest good: our health, and now we have to reclaim it. The French so often say " Tant qu' on a la santé !" Which means " As long as you re in good health ..( you're fine) " 💖🌷
