Food Bank/Pantry Haul: 06/15/23

I use that canned pork like a roast. Throw it in with carrots, onions, celery, taters, and it makes a great meal.

Last time I did the quick check thing we were just above the threshold. But we also feel like that resource should be saved for those who deeply need it. We just need this little bit of a boost.

@@weepingwillowhomestead some people abuse it n then there’s not that many help options for middle class n those r the ones who struggle the most. N when middle class goes to food banks with decent cars get shamed cuz they assume we can afford inflation n extra taxes that gets put on the hard working class. I used to be upset about not getting food stamps cuz we couldn’t make it with 2 decent jobs but your channel n the other channel I follow, have saved me n helped switch my mindset about the food stamp benefits n why we shouldn’t rely on food stamps.

The food pantry is there for anyone who needs it for any reason (literally what the food pantry workers have stated to us multiple times). Sometimes people don't need a lot of help (food stamps, government heath care, help with bills, etc). Sometimes people just need a little help. That's us.
