Thank you for your video and dedication to teaching, Lucas. I appreciate the simple explanations and the way you bring your own story into what you do to set an example. As a mom and teacher, I strive to also be an example of how movement and paying attention to what we eat can help to support good health and a happy life. I would love to better understand autoimmune breakdowns in our bodies and ways people have healed and nurtured their bodies despite this interruption. Our bodies are incredible, complex, yet also somewhat simple. Thank you for being a part of this journey called life. I find many of your videos to be beneficial and help to guide me to a deeper understanding of my own body. May the new year be full of love and light for all, and the healing vibration of our cosmos fill all hearts and beings.

What a good and well-explained video (like all videos I saw from you)! Thank you. I am a vegetarian since 30 years (never had any lacks without supplementation) and I have a feeling that this nutrition keeps the body basically flexible (not saying meat is always bad if coming from "good sources" but I am sure its better not to eat much of it, maybe once a week or so). I am pretty flexible, but when I tried the supplement "MMS" (powder) after about 1 week I could feel a pretty amazing increase of flexibility. I felt like "rubber-band" indeed!

Vitamin D may also be a big one. D deficiency is widespread and can cause muscle stiffness and musculoskeletal pain. Also proper hydration seems to be key - many males neglect.

What about drinking coffee? Should it be avoided since it depletes body from Magnesium and also kind of dehydrates? Good job!!! thanks
@YOGABODY.Official
@YOGABODY.Official Год назад
Thanks for the question. Coffee / tea / dark chocolate all have some very interesting properties specifically the polyphenols. Caffeine itself is can be dehydrating and from a yoga perspective specially, the challenge is it blocks alpha brain wave states, you get stuck in Beta. This might not matter depending on what you're up to. Like all things, moderation seems to be key. If you're able to keep consumption under 150mg (cup or so per day) the benefits seem to outweigh the drawbacks.

I’ve been waking up in the cobra position a lot lately. Spinal fusion at L5, S1. I also have some kind of nerve damage or irritation in the pudendal area or in my pelvis somewhere. Anyway… I wonder if need to be in the Cobra position more often since I’m waking up like that all the time. I’m actually on my forearms when I wake up. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

What about people that are hypermobile/hyperlaxe do they need a specific nutrition to that? For example collagen
@YOGABODY.Official
@YOGABODY.Official Год назад
Foods referenced here are for building blocks for connective tissues. All of this would be beneficial for anyone. I'm unaware of any dietary choices that would help reduce hypermobility, I'm not sure that would work... however, anti inflammatory foods would likely make lots of sense.

Hello Tony - collagen in the body and supplemental collagen are two different things (like dietary fat and body fat). It certainly possible it could make it worse and I'm not an expert in that condition at all, but I'm not sure it's a concern (eating it)

A caveat about getting too much zinc and copper would have been useful. People tend to think more is better. Supplements are not without their side effects, these two having the most potential to harm.

Seems counter-intuitive to bump up zinc with cheese as the inflammation it causes in the body far outweighs the benefits it brings.

Dairy is a weird one, some people do really well with it, others are better off without it. I haven't eaten dairy in 21 years, but there are people in my immediate family who live off 20% of so of their calories from dairy and do great. Genetics and gut microflora play a big role.

THIS IS YOUR “H32O” ITS THE SAME ENERGY THAT YOUR SPIRIT HAS. that’s why you can connect a lightbulb to a lemon and it lights up. EAT FRUITS AND VEGETABLES!!! The key is H302 - gel water. Also known as structured water, ordered water, liquid crystalline water, and living water, gel water is found in certain foods, including a number of fruits and veggies you may already eat on a regular basis.

Most supplements sold in the US are cheap Chinese made, bioengineered, petroleum based, synthetic chemicals, just like US pharmaceuticals.. Read the labels and ensure the product has been tested. Know the side effects. Remember your liver and kidneys have to process them. Know what the animals and their products you are eating are being fed. Whole Clean Foods are your best sources. Buy the highest quality food you can get and make this your health priority. Getting and staying healthy and fit, is my wish for all of you. Merry Christmas.

@YOGABODY.Official Год назад
Hello Judy - thanks for your comments. There are some supplements that you need to be very careful with, omega-3's for examples, others are extremely simple and safe, like ascorbic acid. re: China. It's not accurate to dispage Chinese manufactured anything. In many areas, quality and standards far exceed USA. It's worth noting though that most supplements in the USA are made in the USA though source ingredients will be sourced from multiple geographies. There are reasons to be picky, but geo-avoiding China is not a good choice.
@judylandry302
@judylandry302 Год назад
@@YOGABODY.Official The supplements chemicals are made in China. Which I previously stated. The cheap lab made Chinese chemicals are shipped in bulk containers to countries where they are mixed and made into tablets, capsules, and liquids. The Chinese labs and US manufacturers may, but are not required, to conduct self testing to meet basic specifications. There is no oversight from the USDA on any of these chemicals. A sample of current China supplied cheap chemicals: - Ascorbic acid which is derived from GMO corn. -Vitamin E which is derived from GMO soybean oil. -Calcium Carbonate is made from the same grade of limestone used to make drywall. What ever you are buying there is an imposter synthetic substitute on the shelf. Only 10% of a Supplement is required to be plant derived, in order to be labeled as, "Natural". The other 90% can be synthetic. The US supplement market enjoys a large 38% profit margin, on the retail sales of these garbage supplements. Know what you are buying and putting into your body.

Hello Sarah- I haven’t eaten meat or cheese in 21 years. That is my personal choice not a truth or option for most. Nutritionally speaking there are good and bad diets regardless of ideology. This channel is about science of yoga, not personal beliefs or practices.
@maxsimpson8518
@maxsimpson8518 Год назад
@@YOGABODY.Official It's not ideology, personal beliefs or practices but science. Animal products and dairy are detrimental for health. Red meat like beef has been classified as a Group 2A carcinogen and studies on dairy have shown it to be heavily linked with certain forms of cancer like prostrate cancer. That can't be described as a good diet no matter how you frame it.
