Loved your video as always. Your ideas are so inspiring. I have some sky blue cord that I was going to make trousers but have changed my mind seeing your video and will be making a shacket. Abakhan in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent is my nearest and best fabric store. Hope you enjoy your visit and have a wonderful weekend. Thanks again
I love the top you are wearing, Adelle, but if you really think it washes you out, you could remove the collar and cuffs and change them to a contrasting vivid orange 🍊 😊 love your fabrics 😊
I love all of those fabrics! The pink shacket is such a great idea, that will be beautiful. Really love that cobalt blue jacquard, might have to phone Barry's to get some 😂
I've been to Abakhan in North Wales ( near Prestatyn) and love it! I always want to buy the fleece fabric!!!!! Also fascinated by the waxed african fabric....but never sure what to do with it!....you'll have fun!
Hello, a lot of my favourite shops, although not found the little shop of fabric, or whatever it’s called lol. I went to Guthrie on Saturday and bought some great fabric from the shop and 2metres of olive green pencil cord from upstairs, think i will make a shacket but enjoying looking through my patterns first. I have four projects I want to make; another Heather dress, a hathor waistcoat, onyx pants and a jarrah top. Wish me luck and I look forward to seeing your makes ❤
Oooh I LOVE that parrot Liberty fabric. I live a few miles from Abakhan in Stoke on Trent. I never really come away with much. As for Hanley town where it is......the place is so run down with loads of rough sleepers and boarded up empty shops. It used to be a great town years ago. I dont go any any more.
I haven’t been to Hanley for years my aunty lives in Stone and I spent many summers there. Have you been to Abakan? I know it’s probably cheap fabric but I quite like the cheap shops x
If you add earrings in your color or a lipstick in your color you can get away with colors not in your palette. I am a cool summer and I still wear black now and again even though it washes me out. I add chunky silver hoops and a raspberry pink lipstick and it works.
Also, is the retreat something you have organised for yourselves or open to all? I’m going to the Crafty Camp in August this year but would love to know about any others over the year 😊
While the top your wearing might not be the best color for you, I wouldn't say it washes you out, at least not on the video. As someone else suggested, perhaps a scarf, or even a chunky necklace in a contrasting color that might lift the look would help? I do hope that you love some of the colors in your palette that you're trying, but I hope you don't completely stay away from the colors you're drawn to. You'll look lovely in anything that you make that you like and are proud of, I think. That said, you've bought some absolutely beautiful fabrics, and I'm looking forward to seeing them all made up. 🙂 Love the idea of mixing the face fabrics into the same garment.
You can maybe add scarf or something to break up the color from your skin on your face to your garment! Something that bridges the gap between your color needs and the color of your make.
Great vlog as always you do make me laugh we all say the same thing lol if you sew then you buy fabrics whenever wherever enjoy your retreat it sounds amazing ❤❤
Oo I watched one of your older vlogs the other week reviewing the tilly book, you were wearing a similar lips fabric, it looked gorgeous 😍 great vlog. Love your new purchases. Jen is coming up in a few weeks and we're heading to abakhan liverpool 😊
Great fabrics - I love the silk. And the face fabric - I saw a skirt and top [Style Arc Yoyo] in something like the face fabric and it looked fabulous but it would be a knit base for that pattern. Thanks for the mention and I know you and Becs would enjoy the coffee
