Thanks for posting! We are in Giza right now thanks to your videos-truly appreciate you spreading the word that it’s safe here for tourists. We are having the trip of a lifetime! So grateful for your videos!! 😊
That's so awesome, I'm glad you made it to Egypt, and thank you for letting me know that!!! Super happy you were able to make it here too, it's such a special country filled with surprises and unique experiences ❤
Hi Gisselle, great footage as always but I just wanna say something maybe will shock you, please don't do Abu Ammar elsoury again, it has a bad reputation right now after someone Egyptian found ..(something) in his delivery meal from this restaurant, I don't wanna say what he found, he posted it on social media and the restaurant got a huge backlash from Egyptians, recently people search for similar accidents from Syrian restaurants here in Egypt and they found many of them has been closed by the govt due to failure to follow hygienic measures in the kitchen and many cases of poisoning occur, it's published on the official news media, it's sad bcoz we support them hugely at the past years but that's what we got now, things accelerated fast, there's a rising war between Egyptians and Syrians on social media nowadays, and a huge Egyptian community asking the govt to send them back to their country, sad but it's the reality, and tbh I don't understand why your Arabic teacher suggest it for you! maybe she's not a social media user! I wanted to put you in picture but anyway keep the good videos coming! ✊🙏
I'm not going to be picky or choosey over Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese, or any other country's cuisine or origins of the restaurant. Didn't hear about them finding something in the food at this restaurant, but honestly, it doesn't really bother me even though you just told me that 🤣 And I still see the place is busy, so clearly some people just don't care 😅 However, I probably won't film there again, not because of this information, but because I try to show different places in my videos and not go to the same restaurants again and again. Thanks
@@Gventures Well, I can assure you that the real Egyptians care, many didn't know about that for sure bcoz less than half of population here use the social media, but if you were good at Arabic I'd provided you some sources, but since you already said that you don't care then I don't have more to say, the deportation demand is still a trendy and it will not go down till it happen! enjoy!
@@TheNtrLight You speak for all Egyptians and think you decide who is a "real" Egyptian? Interesting. Your comment is giving me the feeling you are somehow offended. You shouldn't be upset, I'm free to make videos where I want and try things I want, and not everyone cares about the same things. If what you say is true about the restaurant, I can say that I've still eaten at far more "dirty or unclean" places in my life, I love street food around the world and trust me, many places are not hygienic, but I don't mind. And one minute you are talking about food, now you are talking about deportation? Okay.....sounds to me like you don't want foreigners in your country
@@Gventures I could stop here but let me explain, yes I did felt this way a little once I read "not because of this information" and feel like I've no credibility as a loyal subscriber, I was honestly advising you, that's why later I said if you were good at arabic I'd provided you with sources "اغلاق مطعم سوري في مصر" not all people would be happy if they found a gecko in their sauce, or would go to it again, I didn't know that you don't care for your health! sorry! a lot of Egyptians are on furnace bcoz of this repeated accidents, last couple of days an Egyptian woman decided to sue Karam Al-Sham restaurant after their meal caused in poisoning her, she said while on her hospital bed, so you can understand, we are dealing with immigrants problems (not foreigners) everyday, we have plus 10 millions of them, it's not only the bad food but other criminal activities and for real too many community issues are highly increased all over Egyptian cities from Aswan to Alexandria, I wouldn't go in detail I don't want the comment to be long, so we are living that everyday and there's a daily discussions on that matter, we don't have a racism, we just want to eliminate the danger in our beloved country, that's why Egyptians on social media make the deportation a trend and a lot of us now bring back the old history, our struggle against Hyksos (ancient Syrians), their rule over ancient Egypt started with same immigration waves!! people are afraid you know, and I think it's normal to feel that way after what they've seen from them everyday! As for the real Egyptian, he is the one who care for other Egyptian fellows not only for himself! Capito?! Now, I'll go and will never annoy you again with my comments, you've my word on that, Salam!
@@TheNtrLight You got offended because I am telling you that the info you shared with me doesn't bother me? That's the entire issue, that you seem to think I need to share in your perspective. Loyal subscriber or not, I am not a people pleaser, and I don't grovel for views. I do, say and think freely, and I am not walking on ice with every single person who watches my videos. I appreciate you and everyone who watches and subscribes, but that does not mean I need to bend or submit to any certain view that someone holds, or baby them if my opinion is different. I understand there are immigration issues, but the way you talk about the subject reminds of me racist Americans and the way they speak about Latinos. Just because there are some issues at restaurants suddenly means all Syrians are dirty, and now you wanna dig up ancient history referring to them as Hykos? Aight. Don't know why you need to say anything about a "real" Egyptian, how about just a "real person" who cares for others, regardless of nationality. That's the kind of human I respect. Capito? Thanks for commenting and sorry you can't handle others opinions!
Hi, I just found your channel and I loved it haha Your channel is helping me to improve my english listening and my egyptian arabic too because I've been learning egyptian arabic for 6 months. Thank you. I'm from Brazil
Oh, nice, welcome to the channel! Double win with the English Arabic 😄😎 I'm definitely still learning and not very good! Good luck to us both 😄 I hope I can make it to Brazil one day, I would love to! And I hope you can visit Egypt some day too, it's incredible 🥰
Good Morning Gisselle its 1.29am here Melbourne, as always love your video, what can I say love the food looks yum ,on my list to have one day .well time for sleep sending lots of Hugs Evie xoxo
Bro, this was a Syrian restaurant that was serving their version of fattah. Egyptian fattah is served with a tomato sauce, not a garlic sauce, and the rice is also different in Egyptian fattah. I'm not misleading anyone, stop talking about stuff if you haven't watched the full video. If you ARE Egyptian and watched the video, you will know it was not Egyptian style fattah
Thank you for your videos . I follow your video all of them are great , I advice you trying next time Egyptians Shawarma is better and more testy than any other shawarma .😊
Thanks elchagie. I've actually absolutely had Egyptian shawarma, and many times. I've made videos about many different types of shawarma as well. This video I made was about Syrian Fattah, but I plan to make a video about Egyptian Fattah sometime in the future too 😁
I look forward to Sundays now and your much appreciated videos. You make me long for the country of my birth. I was there in 1967 during the 6 day war. Both My late uncles were in the military at the time. One was Egyptian Naval Officer and the other was an Army Engineer. What is the mood there now, do you think Egypt will be able to stay out of the current hostilities?
Thank you so much Cherif, that's very kind of you to say 🙏 The mood here now is the same that it has been for many months, basically the same as when I made the videos about the conflict back in October and again in December. Times here are tough economically, and I think people are just focused on their own lives and how to make it through the day and improve their current situation
Lucky you this food looks delicious 😋, My favorite food is from the Levant region they have the tastiest food in the world and one of the healthiest, We have many gyro places around here but gyro tastes nothing like delicious shawarma😋😋
Yeah food from the Levant is AMAZING, and I'd say it's pretty well known because there are plenty of Syrian and Lebanese restaurants in Egypt. Not so many Jordanian though....
I love levant food very much... very delicious , though its not healthy at all .. but it taste good that i will eat it knowing the abd cramps that i ll get after 😂
Captain America for having the courage to drive your motorcycle in the chaotic streets of cairo and especially after your accident, no foreigner can do that in cairo ,so for a lot of your subscribers you're a Hero🙌🤣🤣🤣🙌
@@samjeremy6276 Ahaha, fair enough. I just really don't care for Captain America, but I got the hero drift thing 😅Although not as many foreigners are driving motorbikes around Cairo, there are a few....it's risky 🤣
I also visited Abou Anas El Domashky restaurant close to Santa Theresa underground station in the Shobra district in February and I guess it is a lovely place to have dinner. I had chicken curry and I found it very tasty. The aforementioned Syrian-Egyptian restaurant chain is excellent, I highly recommend it!
This is what we have on the 1st of ramadan every year, usually homemade but If i'm spending it alone I still get it as takeout. I'd say Egyptians generally consume lots of dishes from the levant area (lebanese/syrian/palestinian cuisine) during ramadan
Yessss, that's one of the reasons I decided to show this dish now, I know it is popular all year, but it's commonly eaten during Ramadan. I love fattah ❤ But there are plenty of good dishes from the Levant in Egypt, not just fattah, you are right
Well this is the biggest donation I've ever received, dang man, thank you!!! I'll definitely be recording my rides a lot more often now that I have a mic and a better camera. I'm thinking I may even do a "motorbike tour" around downtown Cairo just to point out some of the major landmarks and monuments (during the day, but probably at night sometime too during the weekend so you can see the crowds), amongst many other places around the city, like the drive to the pyramids. I appreciate it so much! 🙏🙏🙏
Your new camera n mic give great footage n commentary while you are on the move is cool. When I was in Cairo, found Syrian food more spicy then Egyptian. Much prefer the Egyptian personally. You sound like you may be getting a cold... drink plenty fluids and lots of fresh greens and fruit...and rest.
Definitely have a cold! Super sick now. I am sleeping a lot, eating garlic, soup, ginger, tea, honey, etc. Can't wait till this miserable sickness is gone!
Why is there so much xenophobia coming from this video? Syrian, Lebanese, Egyptian, who cares! We are all people, the food is good from every one of these countries, and every dish has been influenced by others over the millennia. Ridiculous 🙄
Haha, yeah the portions in Egypt are large! Definitely try Fattah, it's delicious. I made another video of the same dish, but Egyptian style, at a restaurant on the Nile. In case you are looking for some views while you eat ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G_xzkih1QpE.html
Some suggestions : visiting the museum of modern Egyptian art in Gezira next to the opera, in addition some explanations about cairo squares and its statues and El Alamein South med. There were will be plenty of visuals in these. Your love to Egypt transpires un your videos ....Good luck
Nice video as always. I must say, that background music left me a bit dissy so I stopped watching. Even after, My brain still feels tingely and heavy. I know I am not the only one, It is a common thing that I notice other people also complain about in other videos online. I don't know if it has binaural beats, but I think its a certain frequency that makes people feel uncomfortable. Take care XX
Oh, well, that's too bad to hear it made you feel dizzy, never heard that one before. But I guess, there's no way to know what music makes some people feel dizzy or not. And my general motto with making videos online is: I can't please everyone, so I just make videos I like (with music I like) and try to give some useful info and make it entertaining along the way. I'll wait to see if more people make this comment, but in the end, I just kinda follow the above motto. Thanks, you take care too ✌
I don't know why there is argument over this. It's so childish, like a 5 year old screaming "I did it first!" 🙄 Who cares, these countries are all very close to each other and have influenced each other's food over a very long period of time. It's all delicious, why not just enjoy that and not argue about trivial things
I went to Abou Haidar and filmed, but I f-ed up and got the roll not the kaiser 🤣And then like a thousand Egyptians in the comments told me "no no! not the roll, you should have gotten the sandwich! And the mango juice!" but anyways, too late for that video! 🤣 I have been back and eaten the kaiser sandwich, I just didn't record it. It's amazing. Here's the video where I got the roll at Abou Haidar 😆🤦♀️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4jZfWu9Sfvw.html
But all beef shawarma even in syrians and lebanese restaurants made on the egyptian recipe because theirs is very dry when they first opened it was not selling so they had to adopted our egyptian recipe and shawermah Fatah is something and beef cube fsttah is another we have both .
Well, I dunno about the Levant shawarma being dry, not sure about them "adopting" Egyptian recipe either, in fact not even sure what you mean by that. They are all good and different but similar cuz it's shawarma, I don't want to say one is better than the other or they copied another country because there's was not good, but I guess I haven't researched the history of shawarma in each country. I do know there is cubed fattah as well, but I really do love shawarma, delicious
Ahaha, yes there are many different restaurants around that serve Syrian food, or Lebanese, or Yemeni, or many other food from different nations. I like all food 😅
I recently married an Egyptian and plan to move to Alexandria in the near future. I love watching your adventures and learning about his country. Have you been to Sohag or Alexandria?
Yeah, I've been to Alex quite a few times! Drove my motorcycle there last year, I love that city. Have you been to Alex yet? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BPQ-0NAqw74.html I haven't been to Sohag, but I drove past it last year when I was riding my motorcycle to Abu Simbel. I would have liked to stop off there, but the desert road was faster so I didn't detour
@@Gventures m watching the motorcycle one now! I love it. Its beautiful. I have. not been Yet.Ive only seen it through his eyes. he says thank you forvthe video of his lovely city and hes LOVES Kadoura. Im in Texas. My husband is preparing a place. right by the coast in Alex
@@WiggyPineda-eg3gb Haha, thanks. Well I wish you the best and hope you like Alex and have a happy life there! Bold move, moving to a place without ever having visited 😅 But if you're anything like me then you'll love Egypt and be happy here 😊❤Mabruk 🎉
Congratulations on your new helmet camera. It's really fun and exciting. Congratulations, welcome. Enjoy the action-packed atmosphere, my dear friend 🇪🇬✨🌙
Yeah serving portions are huge here! Sometimes I take it home. Depends on if there's room in my backpack, because if I'm riding I have to put it somewhere. Can also give it to the needy if I see them on the streets, which does happen fairly often.
For Egyptian Fattah you would rather try a lot of prestigious restaurants such as : Kasr Alkababgy, Hagouga, Almohamadi, Al Refaaee🔥🔥🔥😍, all your videos are amazing and your new camera GO PRO is stunning
I love your videos, you are a true travelaholic, the way you portray Egypt is great aswell. I'm Egyptian, and I absolutely love your content. I would recommend you check out Dahab (City in Sinai)
Thanks man, I've actually been to Dahab! Made some videos there too, though it was a long time ago when I was still learning a lot about filming and having a channel, so they aren't my greatest works 😅 But I've been all over the country since I've been living here 2.5 years, last year I rode my motorcycle to Abu Simbel from Cairo, I've been out to Siwa with the bus, Dahab too, rode my motorcycle to Alex...and still many other places I want to visit!
noooo :D you should have tried the kaiser sandwich instead of the roll, like 3 or 4 kaiser sandwiches, its much better more Delicious, the shawerma in the kaiser is his secret.. I'm glad you made it to Heliopolis though, i live there and i was able to see the area that i live in through your video while you was driving.. Heliopolis used to be much more beautiful in the past.. you should come again there is a lot of places to explore here like Baron Empain palace, and lots of food places. @@Gventures
@@Dallas-35 Yeah you could have commented under the video itself 🤣Anyway, I already know I should have tried the kaiser (and the mango juice) because a thousand Egyptians commented the same thing in the comment section of that video. Oh well, too late now! 😆 You know, to be honest, I don't really like Heliopolis. I know some people get offended when I say that, but I really just don't enjoy being there. My Arabic teacher loves Heliopolis and I have to meet her there fairly often for classes, but I really don't enjoy it....😅
@@Gventures i can't blame you :D i don't like Heliopolis that much anymore either :D used to be perfect in the past lots of green areas everywhere but now it became too much crowded and roads became highways after it was small and mainly for people to walk in.. i guess your teacher loves it because of the memories, childhood memories and so.. but still if you like there are a hidden secret nice places you could ask your teacher about if you came again.
@@Dallas-35 Ah, yes you are making it sound kind of cute and quaint in the past, but now (the only way I've seen it) it's lots of big, busy roads that I'm not allowed to drive down on my motorcycle. So trying to get anywhere in Heliopolis while I am driving is a pain, I think that's another big reason I don't really like it. I live in a busy area in Giza and don't mind busy roads and stuff, but at least in my area and most places I go in I can drive there with my motorcycle. Anyway, yeah maybe sometime I will have to explore it more and find it's hidden gems. Thanks for watching 🥰🙏
Ive got a few vintage motorcycles here in the USA. Im heading to Egypt soon, as I have mentioned before. Does anyone rent motorcycles out in Cairo? @gventures
Unfortunately, not that I have seen or heard of. I've been asked this by several people, and I even went so far as to call all the "motorcycle shops/rentals" I found on the internet here in Cairo/Giza. Either the phone numbers didn't work, or they were like a repair shop or selling motorcycles, but no rentals. Seems not enough people want to rent a bike in Cairo (I guess I'm not that surprised, most foreigners are intimidated by crossing the street here, let alone driving on the roads 😅). But if you somehow do hear of or find a shop that offers rentals that I am just not aware of, please let me know 😄
@@Gventures Will let you know if I come up with anything. In re crossing the roads, not looking forward to that when i arrive in a few weeks. When I was 7 I was hit by a car here in NYC and wasnt expected to live. Broke my entire ribcage, fractured my skull and had years of physical therapy thereafter so....cairo streets might be triggering! But hey, Im a new yorker!
@@JanusJeffrey Dayum! That's brutal. It might be pretty stressful then, but I hope not too much. Just cross with the locals, walk right next to them when they are going, that's always my advice for people that aren't used to this level of disorganization. And yeah if you find any rental shop I'd really appreciate it 🙏 Welcome to Cairo! 🎉🌞
@@Gventures Thanks so much. Yeah, will be a shift going from order to mini chaos. I dont mean to disparage Cairo, but no traffic lights, to me, = chaos! 🙂 BTW have you ever, in your travels through the markets, see a fez/tarboosh shop? You know, the handsome, cylindrical red hands which originated in Turkey?
@@JanusJeffrey Lol oh yes it's absolutely chaotic, 6th largest city in the world and almost no lights, no lanes, no signaling, it's a real free for all with 22 million people 😆 You know, to be honest, I can't say that I have seen those little hats around. But to be fair, I am pretty oblivious to a lot of things if I am not looking for it. I would ask about them in Khan el Khalili while you're here, maybe one of the shop guys in the market will have an idea on where to buy one (just show them a photo)
Great video again! I’ve been waiting for this / next one 👌 Like I told you before, I will be there next Saturday and hope to meet you for a coffee or a nice glass of wine somewhere (if there is some wine or beer to find ofcourse 😊)
@@Gventures thanks for you’re message! yeah you was telling about that in you’re video, I hope you will be okay soon, all the best and take care of yourself 🙏
Thansk for the video. I am planing to visit Cairo at the beginning og april, could you make a video on healthy food, where it can be found. Seafoods, especially fish fx.
Healthy food? I don't really know, I am not big on health, I just eat whatever I like 😅 But I know Alexandria and anywhere near the coasts will have good seafood!
@@momo.sms7 Oh yeah, I actually already have that saved on my maps as "want to go." Just haven't made the time to go down there yet, but it's on my radar! 😁
