Despite how uncertain things are currently and how bad things got in the stores in 2020, I still have friends that act like I'm crazy for having my stockpile and wanting to expand it. But that stockpile has come in handy so many times since I started it 5 years ago. Snowed in for a week, job loss, multiple family members having health issues, that stockpile has helped us get through all of that challenges we have faced. Growing up there were many times we didn't have enough food, and I don't want to ever be in that kind of situation again.

I really wish I could stress to your audience how important what you're sharing with your pantry is... We have relied heavily on ours since early 2018 when my complications to cancer made both of us isolate to keep me safe! Then through various illnesses, job loss, etc... My husband has finally understood why I've insisted for the last 40 years that we stay prepared, and continually rotate products! As we've relied more and more on his shopping and stocking, he's continuing to rotate and replenish. And he's been happy to rely on pantry meals! ♥️ Thank you!

Just an idea for you with the flavored creamers. Don’t throw away use as the milk in pancakes, French toast and waffles. Kids love the different flavors!

When the grandsons were young and I babysat them regularly, I would let them put a dash or two of creamer with the milk in their cereal bowl. A favorite was the York Peppermint flavor with chocolate Pebbles cereal. Eggnog creamer is really good in French toast batter with cinnamon and vanilla added.

Happy Friday Tamara-you got it going on Girl!! When I have bananas that need alot of love and I am tired of making banana bread or muffins, I make homemade dog biscuits/treats. Wheat flour, rolled oats (I grind until coarse flour), unsweetened applesauce, carrots, mashed bananas (usually 1 medium) but if have more substitute the applesauce, and water. Let me know if interested and I will email you the recipe. I am sure Max will thoroughly enjoy and much "cheaper" than store bought biscuits/treats! Thanks for sharing. Hugs and blessings.

That awesome, use what you have to use in other other ways (dog biscuits, etc) We have a garden and tomatoes grow every year now (without reseeding, just whatever falls and fertilizes and grows). I do try to gather green tomatoes at the end of the season and make Green Tomato Bread. It’s exactly like zucchini bread, any spice bread. So I make bread for us and our neighbors and then blend and freeze the leftover green tomatoes. It helps to have a back up of something.

It’s always so great to spend time with you, I learn so much! I have been going to food pantries in my area & have a lot of can & dry foods now, this allows me to use my money on meats & freeze it. I rotate my stock, meal plan & shop according to what I run out of & what’s on sale. You’ve been a true friend & you’re passionate about what you do & it shows! I appreciate you & your channel more than you know Tamara!

We recently had some weather - a good 72 hour window of bad weather and roads, we didn't even notice. Had everything we needed. It was a good test run. I am seeing we need some fruit options so that is something I am going to work on. Great video, keep up the good work for you and your family!

I love your channel! I am also doing the same stocking up! I’m new at this. Only been doing this for about six months! We had two that hard Covid here, and then two of us were negative! But we’re sick with something! But we are all better. We had enough food! We didn’t have enough medicines and all four of us. So I took heed to that, and replaced what we used and had to get other medicines we needed.

Wise words! I wish more people would be more self-reliant. Everyone should at least have 3 months of food and hygiene supplies stocked up. If everyone did you wouldn't see hording and bare shelves when a crisis happens and the whole town raids the stores. We live in very uncertain times. You're doing great with your prepper pantry! One friendly suggestion though is I'd recommend having more water stored up. You at least want one gallon per person per day for two weeks. Thanks for the inspiration girl! God bless. 💜

I just paid 20.99 (4lb) for my conecuh sausage. Ugh!! But when ya gotta you just gotta😁 My Walmart has not had it in ages so I had to go to my high priced local grocer and pay an arm and a leg. I was raised in Mobile County Al, and was raised on conecuh we used to get it so fresh that it came to us in a brown paper bag...lol not in the plastic packaging. It was fresh from the factory.

I shop weekly too and get some stock for backup. I just bought some food grade buckets for our rice & unbleached flour! I love having a fully stocked pantry, freezers and fridge with extras:) I just organized my back stock this week too and started using the pantry app with also writing it down in my meal notebook still.

Yes the world has definitely gone crazy. I’m 65 years old and have never seen a situation where things are so hard to find. I have gone through really hard times especially when my children were little. Honestly, I went a year when my ex-husband did not pay any child support and I had three teens. I had Togo on food stamps to supplement my income for a few months. Times like that helped me learn how to stretch food. Small amounts of meat stretched with potatoes, rice, pasta, etc. I am grateful for the hard times because I learned so much.

Great video. Loved the idea of using applesauce when you don’t have enough bananas for a recipe. My recipe uses three bananas as well and I have often been in a situation when I was one short.

Oh also regarding medications you should check out the SLEP (Shelf Life Extension Program) study done by the US military. They found many medications are safe and effective to use well past their expiration date (except for a few like aspirin). It's very interesting and worth looking into.

I have a coffee cake recipe that is amazing with coffee creamer because it adds the wonderful flavor to the cake. Yum! I always use extra creamer for that and sometimes get it specially for coffee cake.

And it's also key (as you've pointed out) to stock up on items you know your family will use. Just because a certain canned vegetable or soup is on sale doesn't mean you have to add that to your stockpile.

Yes. Suggestion: buy when on sale, then freeze in portions you'll use... Can get watery, just dry with towel/paper towel.

It is “gummy” unless you fry it in a pan with butter and get it crispy on the outside. Some people just don’t like it because of the texture. Like my father in law, he didn’t like it, but Luke and I love it.

I know you don’t want to hear this but I would hate to see anyone that has spent so much time protecting their food for an ER that you ignore a major issue and when you need Thai food - you discover a nightmare. Presently I am living on a boat so limits prepping on boat (do have a number of storage lockers. But PLEASE prepare for bugs and rodents. My grandma taught me -1/2 a century ago, to put bay leaves in my flour and pasta (were Italian so lots of pasta.) and never had a bug! However I know a lot of people that have found cockroaches in their pantries - as they lay eggs in the cardboard. So there’s a rule all sailors use - unpack the boxes and place all products in glass or plastic and never bring a cardboard of anything in the boat. Hearing the cockroach story I have never brought boxes into my home since that story. Also have heard mauling will go ahead and use rice etc with bigs and say - more protein. I could not do that no matter how hungry I may become. Thank you for your program. First time I’ve seen it. Keep up the great work. You may actually save a life

I’ve been prepping and growing my food security for 3 years and I’ve never had bugs or rodents. I keep a very clean house and check my prep daily! If it’s in my working prepper pantry everything stays in original packaging unless it gets open, because I use and rotate through it. Once open I store in air tight containers or vacuum seal in mason jars. (In my opinion) It doesn’t need to be put in special bags or containers, etc if you are using and rotating through it. Especially if you are using it before the “best by date”. My bulk flour and sugar, etc is in buckets in original packaging. No bay leaves, etc. I have my long term food storage(5-30years) in Mylar bags in 5 gallon buckets and tots. Thanks for watching. ❤️
