The Panera in my town gives the bread that they don't sell to the highschool the next day. So you'll have kids just walking around the school with entire loaves of bread. One day I saw that one kid had hollowed out his loaf, punched out finger and thumb holes, and made his loaf into a bread gauntlet. It was right after Infinity War had come out so we all called him Bread Thanos for the rest of the week. He was a legend among men.

I would like to differ from the conclusion found in this video. I say bread gloves far exceeds the functionality of normal gloves. In fact, Matpat has demonstrated many of the advantages of bread gloves. 1. You can eat them 2. They keep the hands comfortable without overheating them, a common disadvantage of normal gloves and mittens 3. They are bread and hilarious

I can relate with Steph on the gloves thing. Gloves usually only make my hands colder than they were before I put them on. Same goes with socks but I wear them anyway because it does provide a bit of comfort on cold days.

Loved this episode! thanks for the laughs. I don't normally comment but Stephanie asked if cold hands in gloves was relatable and well: yes, (very) relatable, gloves with "already cold hands" don't help me at all (I feel mittens are better due to friction which increases heat but the best is half finger gloves with "flap over mittens" difficult to describe but as you guy have kids I imagine you may see what I mean the sort of "convertible gloves to mittens"). But as was described in the "brain freeze" video our body tries to focus on keeping the organs warm in presence of extreme cold (personally, my fingers look bloodless sometimes). I've actually found that thermal "torso wear" is best - like a woolen top layer (but fleeces should also work well).

Steph, I completely understand the struggle of cold hands. My hands and feet are always cold and gloves do sometimes make it worse. My mom is the same way. She always said it was because of poor circulation. You're definitely not alone in your frigid hand world!

Matpat there was a winner in this episode you didn't test. Bread bowl gloves vs. regular gloves for insulating against ice water. Put on one of each and dip your fingers into ice water and see which one keeps your hands warmer. I bet bread bowl gloves would win that.

STEPH, I CAN RELATE. my hands are always freezing. they don't always feel cold to me, but if someone touches my hands or i touch my face, it's obvious i have ice for fingers, lol. and they have hardly any cold tolerence, so that's fun in the wintertime.
