DoorDash Driver here, you'd be surprised by how many "new restaurants" I pick up orders from that are actually someone's house or apartment. Takes "homestyle cooking" to the next level.
I gather people for a good cause. Reporting to make youtube less full of, ya know, baddies. Racists, sexists, etc, etc. And also etc. Tell me if you want to try.
As someone who works at Buca di Beppo, I can confirm that we do get a lot of orders for Mr. Beast Burger, Mariah's Cookies, and Tyga Bites, with Mr. Beast being the most popular. I do think those services are keeping my location afloat because like MatPat said, even though our dining rooms are open, there haven't been as many dine-in customers as there were a year ago. It's completely shifted, with Hosts/Take-Out making more tips than the actual servers working there.
@Dumb Genius - I’m from the eastern part of the US and there are plenty of restaurants open here for dine in. They just have to limit the number of people that come inside
That's great! And in this case seems like a win-win situation, but I''m wondering what will happen after the pandemic when your restaurant will potentially get more customers?
hopefully the food you put out is better than the stuff I got from the place that does it locally..... Cause the slop I was just delivered was worse than McDonalds staffed by children.
A year later, the issue with this model is the quality. I was in love with Beast burger for months until a new kitchen started delivering and the quality plummitted.
That doesn't mean its forever though. Its simply a lack of consistency due to hiring different kitchens at different times. The quality can fluctuate from a masterpiece 10/10, to a 1/10 garbage meal
@@mr.regular589 true, i thin kthat's the wierd thing though. I'd love to try them again with a different kitchen. I mean this went from my new favorite burger to me ordering it 3 more times (i didnt know about the kitchen thing beforei just thought it was a fluke) and turning into the worst burger.
A year later from this comment, all the local Mr. Beast Burger locations are listed as "Permanently Closed" on my apps although the official website is letting me schedule a pickup somehow???
I think that sell me beast burger at a lot of Italian style restaurants because I had it yesterday for the first time and it was from buca de bepo and there was another store that had mr beast burger and it was called bravo it’s another Italian restaurant I’m pretty sure
We'd love to see a food theory (or film) on what it would cost to feed scooby doo and shaggy based on how they eat. Think it'd be really interesting, so wanted to pass it along-thanks!
Well kinda obvious, youre not there to learn and be educayed of the nitty gritty bits of business, youre there to work amd cook, THIS video is what will tell you about the nitty gritty bits
@@emrald9963 they just said we’re gonna start this new thing called “title of the ghost restaurant” and we all thought it was a promotion until I saw this and explained to them what it actually was. Because we have to label literally everything with their stickers. Even the managers didn’t know what it really was.

Wow, as someone who owns a family restaurant that has suffered with the lockdown (since we heavily rely on dine in), theses virtual kitchen ideas might be the last bit of hope of keeping us in business
You should give it a try, as ut is very helpful. The only concern would be high demands and pressure because most ghost kitchen bussinesses tend to have the same logic as fast food- quick and reliable. I know this because my mom's a manager at a relatively big diner in Flo. I wish you luck.
My dad runs a brio in Delaware, he’s been rolling out all of the celebrity ghost kitchen lineups! I can’t even begin to explain my excitement when I watched this video and showed it to him. This is so surreal hearing my favorite youtuber talking about something that is happening in my life!
I never thought about it that way. I was looking for the location of my local mrbeast burger and couldn't find it. I only found a different burger place. Now I realize what it is. THANK YOU FOOD THEORY!
As an Uber Eats driver, I was very surprise to pick up food from food trucks and drop it off at fancy neighborhoods. Its of course, because they use the name concept! They dont say food truck, instead they go by many names that sound like they especialize in certain foods, which makes people think they are ordering from very nice places! Basically if people can't see where they get their food, they can't pre-judge it and just assume everything is up to their usual level..
@@crazysilly2914 Okay, so you are publicly boasting that you lack empathy ? Is that supposed to be 'strong' or 'take that vegans' moment, cause it just makes you seem like a horrible human. It is same as saying 'I work in shelter but don't feel any bad emotion when someone throws our their dog'.
@@the8222 one opened up by me and I must say. I had low expectations. And it exceeded every expectation I had. I got the Chris style burger and it was great. Fries were really good too. Definitely going back
I wish I had seen this sooner so I understood what a startup that contacted me a while back was trying to do. I don't know if this 'virtual restaurant brand' model will last, but it is interesting to see how this industry hurt by the pandemic is evolving.
@Game Dev Cade I can't say it was a missed opportunity. The short version is the message said something about 'clod kitchens' and I assumed this was another case of of someone mashing together a tech buzzword with an unrelated industry and claiming 'innovation'. I just ignored the message at the time. Had I known about ghost kitchens at the time I still probably would have ignored the message as it set my BS meter off :P But at least I'd have know what the BS was about.
Well this is certainly interesting to watch after hearing the new allegations of Mr. Beast faking his content. For someone who supposedly gives way money like its candy, if you actually look closely at the clips, you'll notice that Mr. Beast is actually giving away one-dollar bills, which are literal chump change. I'm surprised no one noticed this before now.
allegations from that one random guy? I don't follow the drama because it looks like everyone around is obviously milking it, but from what I've read the guy accusing Beast was an employee for a month and was let go, his arguments have no proof and are vague, I don't think the controversy is actually going to be earthshattering, correct me if I'm wrong
@@szczypior2714 Well the illegal lotteries are definitely true since Mrbeast's audience is primarily children and he didn't follow proper regulations for it. Heck, he deleted his latest t-shirt signing stream on Facebook after the video came out (not to mention the stream showed an employee blatantly copying Jimmy's signature, calling into question all of his signed merch and their value). Regarding the allegation of faking his videos, there is some evidence to back it up, like the stranded at sea one where you can clearly see that no one is in the hut for one night and its not addressed in the video (especially when they suddenly have rain coats on halfway through). Although, if you want to play devil's advocate, you could say that they were just hiding in the corner of the hut that's concealed by the opening tarp so the camera can't see them but the video doesn't really say they are. As for rigging his contests, that is a bit iffy since there is no solid evidence for either side. Not to mention that the Mrbeast employee that tried to debunk the guy didn't provide any evidence to the contrary and didn't even address everything (which isn't a good look). That's about all I want to get into at the moment. I have watched a decent amount of videos on the topic, but a lot of them mostly repeat the same points. I do think that Jimmy is guilty on some of the accusations, namely the lottery one, but we'll have to wait and see if the rest hold true.

I noticed this is happening in England. I’m a part time deliveroo rider and I got an order from a restaurant name I’d never heard of before. The restaurant was called “flip the bird”. I rode to the address and when I got there it was an Indian curry restaurant, so I was a bit confused. But the staff just brought out the chicken burger. It’s a pretty clever way of doing it. You could have multiple restaurants all working at the same time with the same staff
@@Absol125 He started out as a youtube channel making minecraft videos, then he started spending a ton of cash on things and it got him subscribers and more views, so he got a bunch of money.
It exploits the workers more than normally so it would probably come with tons of backlash , also if more companies try to use ghost kitchens and it works normal restaurants would try moving in that direction, and with less and less normal restaurants there can’t be ghost kitchens if the normal kitchens are gone but that’s just a theory a game theory thanks for watching
Agreed with what John Eden said. You can't have everyone operating this way without the real restaurants to be thr ghost kitchen. Also, presumably as the pandemic gets resolved, restaurants will reopen to capacity again and may no longer have the bandwidth to run as a ghost kitchen as well, so I don't see this as being long lived unless Mr Beast Burger ends up being so popular that it's more profitable for the kitchen than it is to serve their own meals, to the point that they'd prioritize it. Not sure if that's likely.
I feel like quality control is going to be an issue. Just ordered, packaging was amazing, burger was warm but fries were cold like refrigerated cold and everything just seemed thrown together.
Yeah it’s a huge problem, from what I’ve seen and actually tasted it’s painfully average or even worse than average. I think the problem is if your kitchen has time to make someone elses food then you’re probably not doing so hot yourself and you’re probably not a great restaurant.
I had that experience as well. Not with Mr. Beast, but some other name I didn't recognize. It took to me a Famous Dave's. I was so confused, and I was driving around looking for the right place, but it was the only restaurant I could find. Turns out it was correct! I was just upset that DoorDash didn't actually tell me what was going on. Because of that, I was late for my drop-off. :P
Apparently he did, a ton of local diners are what got the majority of it. I don’t know how he didn’t receive a nomination for times person of the year for #Teamtrees itself
not sure if he's exactly worthy of getting the same award as Gandhi, Apollo 8 astronauts, US presidents, freedom fighters and more. Though they did once make an award for internet content creators called "You"
@@Janfon1 your right, someone who has planted over 20 million trees, spent over 10 million dollars on charity, helped out countless homeless people and helped struggling restaurants does not deserve awards.
@@rowdy4asbell You do know he got paid for promoting Teamtrees? Doing paid promotion for charity does not have to be disclosed hence people think he did it solely for the sake of humanity, which is not the case.
OMG I ORDERED COOKIES FROM MARIAHS COOKIES WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IT WAS. JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A RANDOM COOKIE PLACE NEARBY SINCE THEYRE EVERYWHERE HERE. It was actually super good.
odd seeing this after the lawsuits that were news recently. Chucky Cheese here has at least two virtual restaurants. Logan's Steakhouse has an Italian kitchen. Mr Beast is ran out of Red Robin--at least in Norman Oklahoma.
@@darthyoutube1914 It probably is true, though. For ghost kitchens and any delivery service, the food is usually double checked to make sure you don't ship the wrong food all the way to the customer. McDonald's gets a lot of orders wrong LOL
I could be entirely wrong but in case I'm not, depending on if this is considered a "gift" or "prize" I hope that the people who got money remember not to spend it all since the TAX man will want to collect their cut ... or at the very least don't bank it in so there's no paper trail of the money if you plan on cheating Mr Tax-man ;) [ if this falls under "contest prizes, awards or raffles category" the federal government could treat "winnings" as ordinary income, tax-wise, and that applies regardless of how much you win. The IRS requests that you report even the smallest winnings ]
@Alan nothing is truly "free" when it comes to money - but for those of you who are enterprising enough there are always ways to circumvent Mr Lawman ... of course I'm not suggesting that you do, but it is an option. ;)
This hypothesis is partly true. This is idea really started with ma and pa restaurants cooking out of their house. These restaurants existed only as an icon in a delivery app.

This could save a lot of restaurants here on Brazil. A handful of restaurants permanently closed during the pandemic. Having this model around here would be a gamechanger!
Y'all are lucky. After I ordered from Mrbeast burger I tried to figure out how to block in on doordash. You can get tasteless greasy smashed burgers pretty much anywhere. And it costs less elsewhere.
I got an Uber delivery request from “Nathan’s famous” I drove to the location, and couldn’t find it ANYWHERE! They were using a Big Boy as a ghost kitchen!
Fun fact: the joke about a fnaf ghost kitchen might actually happen. It is currently in the planning stages and it’s being made by the same company that made Beast Burger.
True "ghost kitchens" aren't actual restaurants at all; they exist solely as kitchens for virtual restaurant and food brands. MrBeastBurger uses more of a franchise model, working with existing restaurants (but specifically not ghost kitchens) who prepare his products alongside their own. It isn't a HUGE distinction, but it's important to understand that MrBeastBurger is explicitly working with actual restaurants, providing additional streams of revenue for an industry suffering under the impacts of COVID. He is specifically not contracted with any virtual-only kitchens.
Why wouldn’t the ghost kitchens make more profit compared to a franchise version of it? If you think about it the ghost kitchen which is not a franchise would make profit not only from the popular brand (like Mr Beast) but also sell their own stuff even if the profit is not that great it is still a profitable way of doing business. So in conclusion wouldn’t the non-franchised ghost restaurants make more profit and get more money so they won’t run out of business?
@@thedeadnightking9975 Yes, but that's not what I'm saying. MrBeast is specifically only working with actual dine-in restaurants to given them this additional takeout-only revenue stream during the pandemic. He *could* be franchising to actual ghost kitchens, but he isn't.
Got a restaurant called "It's Just Wings" around here. Name says it all. They sell wings and boneless wings, which come with free curly fries, and that's it. Decided to look them up and actually do dine-in once the lockdown let up... and they're literally being delivered out of the local Chili's.
