Gosh … the hosts are incredibly suited to be introducing another side of China. If only CGTN can also engage such fluent bilingual speakers in the political realm to express / disseminate information for the world to better understand China.
There have been various feed backs about this but China has been putting this off for other higher priorities. China has always been a non-interventionist for so long, it didn't pay attention to PR. 2020-2021 was a wake up call. CTGN initiated a media challenge to recruit talents few months ago. Hopefully, we will get to see more of fluent bilingual hosts.
@@wongcw08 yeah she has a pretty face but there is more to her than that. I have watched many of her interviews and travel logs. Her sincerity and personal drive shine through. People may click on the pretty face but they will stay for her passionate sincerity.
Although this works well in the short term... I think China should not fully fall into using the same PR techniques from the West (Lonely Planet Style). That's the problem with the world, everything becomes the same thing. China should preserve and even re-define its own identity without losing its personality. Is the West the one who should learn to be tolerant and cosmopolitan enough to get amazed by the different perspectives and aesthetics coming from the Arab, Chinese or African spheres, not (only) all the way around. I love this type of content (It makes me feel comfortable because I'm a westerner) but I also love to listen to Liu Xin or watch the fresh reportages by Li Jingjing.
finally cgtn shows asian chinese men and woman together showcasing china before cgtn only shows foreign white men and asian chinese woman together showcasing china
Wow, Eva can really sing! Impressive! I love this food series, fun and love the stories of people and foods, both hosts do a great job, fun and entertaining! 👍😍👍
This is such a huge step up from previous CGTN. Hosts are so much better I can't even believe it. There was so much bad to say about previous years CGTN and this is so much better I'm so happy and overjoyed. I made some minor comments but thank you for so much for setting it up. I think God Almighty has been involved in COVID and likely the step up in CGTN coverage is a part of this recent blessing. May the one, indivisibke King God who spoke to Abraham who spoke to Abraham and doesn't want the world to speak Arabic, bless you!
The photography and editing were clearly done by someone who knows about foodie culture. I strongly suspect there was more than one photographer and a director for this shoot.
Travelogue new food videoes getting better with Eva and Tian Ran. Going through your playlist again in views of new videos. So much to see and enjoy. There are also other good series or playlist in CGTN
Once thing I noticed of videos in China, is that people interact randomly and are very friendly. In the US, people may be polite but they make sure they keep their distance and prefer to mind their own business.
Good observation. That is us. I am ethnic Chinese. No "fake nice". Do it right. That is why we sometimes appear distant. We are just being genuine. Authentic.
because everyone has gun here in US, and shoot is happening all over US. too close here is a real life threatening situation in US. No joking, I keep distance to everyone because of it, I am polite to everyone also because of this. They may shoot you if you don’t politely, and it is not a joke.
@@wongcw08 Brazilian culture is the opposite, people must always being fakely nice, tourists always come and say how nice and warm Brazilians were while while Brazilians makes them pay the double for any product just because they know foreigners have more monry
I remember CCTV-9 and then when it became CCTV-English and I will just say this. CGTN is an incredible improvement compared to the former two. Thank you, President Xi!
Mix of Traditional and Modern concept for Dinning. Surprised the Speed that China adopted Modern dinning experience with traditional food. So much to learn and experience there.
I have just seen the future and the past....and not a wok in sight! One can imagine how Shanghai in its previous existence would have felt and looked like but the main players then would have been very different. Very slick piece of work by CTGN
This is a great video to watch if you have just had dinner, like I just did, because such videos can make one sooooo hungry, lol. My fav Chinese dish I've had in the Americas has always been ground chicken, and noodles, with soy sauce moderately spiced. I've wanted to visit China if Phoenix, where I live now, ever adds a non-stop there, since changing planes is harder as I have grown older, which I did weekly during the decades I have traveled on business but only making it as far into Asia as Japan, and that was on a layover on a two day invite to Guam, where someone wanted me to work. I traveled more into South America, Central America, Canada, Europe and of course the US, trying to enjoy the regional foods like you are sharing in this lovely video. Your male counterpart reminds me of a colleague, Jack Tan, a British-Chinese colleague who worked with me in Bologna Italy in '95, who was a joy to work with as we did systems training in a city known for being the 'home of Tortellini'. And like Bubba told Forrest Gump about shrimp, there are a gazillion ways to make Tortellini. Your video is successful at showing that China is just like the US--full of people who value life, and living a simple life, via travel and food, rather than sitting still and alone in some palace, which few do in our world and many who live in luxury allow people in their homelands to enjoy it by video, or by museums, and government monuments celebrating travel and tourism. We all live on a Spaceship--Earth. We who have lived since I have since the dawn of manned spaceflight, which happened during the time in which I was going to be born when Yuri Gagarin made it to space, have a sneaking suspicion that space technology will bring us to peace--I get excited when anyone makes it to space--since I consider myself too old for that, but in my roller coaster days I found rides that did offer a few seconds of weightlessness, not to mention some drops in turbulence flying over the Rocky Mountains, the Sierras, and the Sonoran desert.
hello cgtn, thank you for this introduction of beijing food or the collection of food in the capital. the first neighborhood as mideast food is with more western china food and the name is cow streets - but we do not have good milk or use milk for cereal there. famous england is with sirloin steak (?) for the mister and for ms hong kong is dim sum ground cow. then did not know robots were studied or used there in making cellphones displayed. oh the restaurant with bbq in soup (hot pot) is cool with robotthe panaromic screens is nice - single long noodle in soup - wish to see the soup spoon there. in china the ground meat of lamb and pork are the little animals - and the song the waiter was singing was a lamb was left for a farm and a child did not choose to eat it and if she may not know a cat will get it. lamb is an outside wall food long ago. maybe eat the bun in shanghai. elle for swim
the mini courtyard teahouse had really nice dim sum (sweet) - never seen the circle shape one before - usually it is lotus, red bean, or black sesame... the mention of storage food from an animal but should be a pony. the chance to eat in a courtyard for food writers and traveling nice places. the 5 plates total is $17?
Don't betray your home land, no matter where you are from, or what political standpoint you have. Root is root. I don't like people who don't like their roots.
Now 18-days after this advertising vlog was posted about eating in Beijing the Omicron COVID-19 variant has been discovered within the city and is widespread in communities surrounding the city. It has also been discovered in Shanghai, the economic heart of China, and is widespread through the eastern half of China from the south to the north. Chinese officials are scrambling with the Winter Olympics just days away and the threat that Beijing will need to be shut down under their zero acceptance policy. Chinese officials have not yet started selling tickets to Olympic events thereby demonstrating their lack of belief that the game will actually occur. China has been issuing misleading information for weeks and even months now and these lies, when realized, will place shame on the entire country.
