friggin.... rooster answering ANOTHER riddle without hesitation is just so damn funny to me. like bro cant tell the time from a digital clock if he had to but the damn sphinx riddles are a breeze i love him so much
17:41 Rooster was charged with energy, so it would've been really funny if he woke Kore up by rubbing his hands together and putting them onto Kore like a defibrilator
If I had a nickel for every time a fool's gold character has ripped out the heart of a big bad, I would have two nickels which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
A platypus? A platypus playing dnd? ''gasp!" Perry! the dnd playing platypus you never told me we could have been playing dnd together I am hurt, Perry just because you are my nemesis dose not mean we can't hang up
I fucking love the tonal whiplash here. Kor is covered in glowing runes and punches through a wall, and then is described as having the 'most intimidating aura so far'...and then the music starts and he just goes and wrecks shit and eats everything like fucking kirby. edit:Also...the prince is evil, right? Like, he wants the beast dead so he can lie more, right? Am I misreading this? Because it feels like he definitely wants it dead so he can do underhanded shit.
I'm sure that's the case with the prince but he did say the beast attacks anyone even for a little lie and straight up eats them for bigger ones so that's not great for a prosperous nation's. I'm sure he's evil too but he has very good reason to get rid of the beast
I dont think he necessarily wants to lie himself, but I would imagine that not being able to lie wouldnt exactly be good for business and it is heavily implied the cities prosperity comes from being a trading hub.
I didn't see it like that I read it more like, he's not good or bad he just want the city to do well and lies might help, I'm listening to this when episode 15 has come out so maybe I'll be quickly proven wrong.
I can't get the image of a Kore sized hole in the window at the end of the episode out of head where he jumped through the window. And Neeltor and Roster standing there with cotton candy beard on their face 😆😆
I have to admit something to this community.. I just came back after watching this episode yesterday because I had a thought and I wanted to confirm it. This entire time I thought the animated art in the background of every episode was Kore wearing the early 2010's meme MLG Glasses. I have now just realized after half a year that those are indeed his eyes. Illusion shattered.
Oh I love riddles here's two What is in the beginning of eternity and at the end of time? When you don't know what I am, I have value. But if you know what I am I'm worthless what am ?
25:23 "I could break my neck on the tonal whiplash" is such a good quote ⛐ 42:01 "He'll take his hand" "I'll take the other one" "Yay!" The kinda thing that would only happen when Kore's injured 🧑🤝🧑 49:16 "So many good memories of that broom closet, just me and my god" "Seven minutes in heaven/hell" I thought the exact same thing 😂
1:17, Love the description of the King Holland fight is like an Dark Souls-style video game boss fight, with his hovering and area attacks. 4:02, If it were animated, it would probably indeed be pretty cool, especially Kore infusing ice onto his glaive with his breath. 8:38, Not only does Rooster and Kore’s plan to submerge the king inside the water sphere get them all shocked by the lightning arrow, but Dingo once again lets the intrusive thoughts win and proposes new ways for Felix to screw them, though Felix doesn’t do it this time. 12:32, And so, the trend of Rooster not seeing how serious the situations he's in are continues, even as he stabbing someone in the face. 15:07, Blind loyalty may be a virtue to him now, but there’s still the possibility that him helping Kore will end up making him and Kore worse off in the long run, as well as cause more people besides Holland to suffer (16:35, Kore isn’t even fighting the king for a noble reason, just to be validated in the eyes of his deity, 33:36, going as far as to neglect his own health out of pride until it nearly killed him). 16:50, This moment goes full anime and I love it…..Rooster’s still a foolish child (40:14, especially with how he didn’t think helping to commit regicide would mean people would be upset with him), but still. 21:57, It’s a cool detail including Kore’s shirt, a symbol of his and Rooster’s friend, being damaged and blood soaked as Kore shows Rooster a less savory side to his character. Rooster’s own vague moral compass coming into play with him not supporting killing a defenseless opponent who chooses to addresses his people with gratitude and affection rather than beg for his life or insult his assassin (24:19, unfortunately, he’s still too stubbornly naive to realize just how bad what he and Kore have done is). 23:51, Another cool detail Hawlin pulling a Thors from Vinland Saga by dying upright, 19:47, which combined with his belief that a king should never kneel before others and, 22:39, him refusing to scream as Kore extracts his heart shows that as benevolent as he appeared to be to his subjects, he was also deeply prideful and committed to not showing weakness to those he cared for. 25:23, This is becoming the literal name of the game when it comes to Felix’s games, it seems. 36:28, The detail of him being so mentally worn by the fight that he consider the *arena* he was fighting in as an enemy fortress and not the tournament he himself chose to participate in in this relatively civilized area shows just how disconnected he is from everyone, being a soldier on a mission while everyone else is just a civilian going about there day. 40:01, My money’s on the same item creating ability the wardrobe in the preparation room at the arena had. 40:55, As silly as Nelthor and Rooster can be, they have their moments of being a kind of moral compass, 41:56, and being supportive friends, as their presence and perspective can make Kore (53:45, who sounds both physically and mentally drained by all what he’s seen and done) question wether doing things like assassinating an apparently benevolent and popular ruler simply because a deity told him to is something he even wants to do, if he can choose for himself what is right and just beyond the perspective of rules and contracts. 43:28, The detail of the giant cat being agitated as right before the reveal that King Hawlin's death and the removal of his magical heart (which was also apparently the source of his mage/warlock abilities and water powers, the latter also apparently inspiring the sphere, or maybe bubble motif of the city) was a nice touch, 44:02, giving even more weight to the devastation Kore fulfilling that contract caused, that the king’s borrowed power gave irrigation to this region and without it, a drought would be imminent. 45:14, The comedic effect of Rooster being smart enough to eventually find the correlation between Hawlin's water powers and the city’s water source, only to again not realize that killing their king at all would upset these people, as they’re the ones left to pay for his childish antics and Kore’s blind loyalty in his deity. 49:57, Gotta appreciate the irony of Rooster denouncing wishes because he was misled (quite easily because he’s a child) that all wishes are dangerous, only to learn some wishes aren’t when they are precise and small enough. The giant cat being revealed as the product of a vague wish was a good bit of lore, but it was really the claim that it targets liars being legitimate according to Vox Hawlin's that made it even funnier, 56:25, since it seems no one even tried to get rid of it after it was manifested until Vox requested that the Trip Survivors do it. 52:31, The fact that Kore wasn’t taught how to make deals suggests deity never cared enough about the city that would be destroyed by Vox Hawlin's father’s death and the effect keeping it irrigated to even consider the possibility of being able to get a deal out of the king’s next of kin, another hint for Kore his deity isn’t worth serving. 59:47, The question is, did he escape or did his captors realize he was more trouble than he was worthy and abandoned him. 1:01:05, First off, of course heart eating came back, and second, it’ll be interesting to see if whatever malevolent effects this has on Kore will be what begins to make him distance himself from his deity or if its influence will further indoctrinate him and thirdly, it’s now another player’s turn to have a corruption arc while their friends fail to help them (1:03:38, but for now, it’s like he’s on Kore-caine).
I have a sneaking suspicion that the king's death is going to result in some kind of planar war between the abyss and the heavens as they fight for custody of his soul. He did make a demon pact for his position, but the pact wasn't necessarily for his soul, and he was beloved by his people.
We need to start a petition to always have 90’s felix segments we need to at dingo #bring90’sfelixback every time a new fools gold sands episode releases
The irony of Roøster dealing all the damage to the king while the king absolutely wrecks Kor! 😂 NEVER sneak up behind a wounded warrior! We walked all the damn way down her and now we have to go all the way back! 😂 Er, seems like, with many great monarchs, the prince is not as moraly pure as his father. 😒 Hang on, I thought Aborith wanted the heart. Why didn't he take it when the prince was portaled too? Now Kor's going nuts and probably going to get himself and his friends in big trouble.
If I were Kor's partner, I think I would have taken the opportunity of him being down to try and make it like nobody had to die. Like, Kor's deity (I know the name but I don't know how it's spelled) said that the king's terms were fine. If he wins, he's free to keep living and technically Kor would have still fulfilled his duty. So since Kor is unconscious, I would have tried to speak to the king, proposing that we lie to Kor after he wakes up, saying that the King knocked me out too. We would tell Kor that the King technically won, but he accepted to spare us. And so, the King would be free to keep living according to the deity's terms since he technically won, and we would also be free to live. And Kor, being unconscious, would be none the wiser about what actually happened. What actually happened being us forfeiting basically. I don't know if the king would accept this compromise or if Kor would buy this lie, but that wouldn't prevent me from trying.
But here's the thing. Rooster had no clue what the deal was. And if he HAD done that, it would have been some meta-gaming. Honestly, big ups to Dingo for not metagaming on the deal and keeping player and character knowledge separate. Though that still doesn't explain how Rooster is good at riddles while Dingo is (supposedly) bad at them.
@@chibibluemouse I guess that's fair, but I feel like it would be possible to put the pieces together, with how Kor speaks of his duty, his deal... And someone who reacts differently than Rooster may have asked Kor what happened when they were separated and so they would know about the deal and everything. But it's true, I didn't even realize this would be metagaming in this situation.
@@Oceane1803 I mean, it's a good idea. Just not one Rooster would have had the info to act on. XD Metagaming is tough to see sometimes. It's just really important to keep track of what the players know verses what the characters know. I still struggle with that sometimes.
@@chibibluemouse Yeah but also that's the point. I was talking about what *I* would do in this situation, and I'm not like Rooster or like Dingo in general.
so if core was just filed with what we can assume to be aberrates magic would he not instinctually drift towards similar or stronger magic. or even the next part of aberrates will.
pfft, how can Kore move with -4 hp? Is this a 3.5 thing? Also surprised Kore didn't try drinking the potion and running away, I mean one good shot from an arrow and he's down.
