I just realized probably why Rooster is so heavy. His teeth are naturally gold. Teeth are part of the skeleton. Rooster's whole skeleton is probably gold too.
I feel the need to point out that, at this point, Kor still thinks Rooster is a child. He's essentially committed himself to being the caretaker of this hyperactive chaos baby for as long at the journey entails. That scene at the end where he agrees to hold Roosters hand so he'd be less afraid is such a sweet moment and is a good parent moment. Kor might not know what is and is not a child nor does he know what a child is and is not supposed to be allowed to do, but his heart is clearly in the right place.
“Please Abrath send me good vibes” just makes me want to make a dnd character who is more lax in their worship of their deity than the rest of the uptight members of their religion, but surprise! The deity rewards the casualness way more. Like, I need to work on this…

I'm willing to bet Rooster is in fact a child by genie terms but has been convinced he was not a child at one point because he is not a child by mortal races terms.
@@geoshark12 im assuming that's what wallawats mean. but (from what I've seen) Felix usually builds everything and then lets the players and dice figure out what happens. so yes Felix builds the world and has the final say. But It's dice or player decisions that have the major impact. I'ma rant but I love his dm style, It's like someone builds a playground but then lets the kids play on it however they want. They might walk up the slide instead of going down it. They might break a ladder off of it and use it as a bridge. And It's all good as long as they have fun. (Except id probably ask for the ladder to be put back in real life)

While not as ignorant or naive as Rooster, Kore was raised to fight and, it seems, little else. However, he isn’t necessarily wrong to prefer violence when dealing with a camp filled with known criminals who have attacked and abducted people and call themselves the “Bloodfangs”. This would be the reasonable thing to do, but Rooster is a child and a particularly unreasonable one.
@@callmev3531 Rooster is not a child and his age could be thousands of years old (despite his horrible sense of time) and he is the one that suggested reasoning with them. Adults can be very childish too. But yes I do see your point on how the their assumptions and decisions are both from their different and separate aspects of life. Kore hasn't really left the abyss and was trained to protect himself in case of anything and Rooster hasn't left Tiq and doesn't have much memory before then. But it is good to see these aspects of people and see how they adapt and react. Thanks for commenting. 😊

My group is in a Saltmarsh campaign and one of my players is a lizardfolk sailor who's favorite drink is Claw Wine (basically vodka made with sea water and crab shells) and no one else can stomach it

I just imagine there being a goofy drawing of Nelly with little orb hands and stuff with a cartoonishly larger sombrero than it currently is and then one of the goofy little orb hands slowly but surely turns into giant grotesque arm and hand with bone cracking noises and all just to tip their hat in a quick goofy manner while they say “good day ol’ chap”

In the original campaign, there's a point just after the party splits where you can start seeing Felix taking inspiration from Undertale. There was the powerful fighter with 1 HP (the old man), an amalgamation (the mercury dragon), and an ongoing moral debate of committing genocide against an ancient race that could be seeking war should the barrier between worlds collapses.
46:09, Rooster stubbornly trying to excuse the bandits actions (mostly due to their cool sounding name, it seems) and repeatedly insisting they can be reasoned does bring to mind how indifferent he seemed after Kore split that knight’s head to scare the others off and free him from the magic-dampening sack. He was just thankful of the results of that violence without even thinking about what it took to free him. Still, him putting the effort to try to resolve the situation peacefully, even if it was inconvenient (mostly for Kore, since Roosters just a glutton for any experience he can get besides dark spaces), is admirable and enriches his dynamic with Kore by demonstrating the two having moral differences along with intellectual ones.
Episode 1 I said I needed 20 more episodes, episode 2 I said I needed 75 more episodes now. And this episode I'm still utterly amazed. It's so good I need more! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Yesterday I was a bit stressed because I had an important exam today. But I listened to the greatest D&D podcast (probably the greatest, i don't know many) and my stress disappeared, and I think I did pretty good today.
On sand-sailing at night: It makes perfect sense. They both might have Darkvision, but in general that doesn't go out more than maybe 60 feet if you're lucky. 60 feet of vision range isn't great when you're going 60 miles an hour.
The Fools Gold team brings vibrant and living authenticity to the stories they create and this causes me to feel as though I'm right there in the world with them. It's a truly engaging and enjoyable experience far more than any other DnD group I've listened to. :D
