The brush series is my favorite...I follow the ball down and brush it up or down depending on the defense...along with the stick series it killer...I should do some posts...wait... I don't have a table anymore...anyway...do the series that works for you and maybe when you get that down...then incorporate other series to be more of a threat
Not only are your drills really well thought out and cool but the camera angles you have for them are awesome! Gave me some new ideas for practice. Great video.
Very nice indeed! Could you show how you grab the handle when doing stick pass/rollover. I'm a new comer into the world of foosball and first thing I learned is that the single most important thing before doing anything is to know how to grab the handle. I am trying to learn brush + rollover but still have problems to finding the perfect "grasp". Thanks!
Ryan, thanks for the reply. I most definitely watch Zeke's videos...both of you are my go-to guys for everything foosball. I noticed you haven't posted new foosball videos in a long time. Do you still play professionally?
I still play. Its usually 2 or 3 big tourneys for my gf and I each year, and quite a few local tourneys around Denver. I'm ranked "expert", so still haven't made it to be ranked "pro"... but did get 2nd it pro doubles at Worlds last year. As for the new vids.. I'm definitely going to at some time... but I might have to split my channel up and make one just dedicated to foos cuz I think like 99% of my subscribers are snowboarders... I'll make a vid to announce the new channel if I do, but it won't be anytime real soon. Happy foosing till then!
Ryan, your foosball training plan and videos are amazing. You're like the Mr. Miyagi of foosball! Would you mind explaining the methodology behind your drills (i.e. what do the 3x swirls prepare you for...)? Also, I'm having a hard time positioning my wrist for a rollover. I've watched the grip video lots of times, but I think a top-down view might give me a better understanding. I'd appreciate any advice on anything foosball related you have to offer. Thank you.
Thanks. Basically the drills of swirling around the ball is a quick way to learn the range of each of the players and to purposely be able to completely control the full range of the guys without accidentally hitting the ball. Practicing that might not be as flashy and fun as practicing shooting... but its a quick shortcut to having very good ball control on each of the rods. With the roll-over its nice to have someone show you in person... but if that isn't possible, just keep trying them and over time you'll find what works for you. Since its a pretty unnatural thing to shoot from the wrist, it will feel awkward for awhile. But with slow and thoughtful practice of it, eventually it will feel normal. Other than my vids, I really recommend watching Zekes (Unreal foos) vids too. Its a lot of the same type content, but will be just 1 extra source of good teaching to learn from. Hope that helps. Happy foosing and good luck!
Chase Pennel has vids too....ball control is EVERYTHING in foosball... I have done these drills for many years...patience is definitely a virtue...and don't get discouraged...it can be very humiliating...but with practice you will be on your way...stay foosinaround my foosball friend 😀
Thanks. I used either a flip video camera, or the video feature on a sony cybershot lil camera. Or both. it was awhile ago, so I'm not 100% sure. Lately I use a GoPro for most my on table shots.
+Ryan Knapton I mean the background music. lol . Sir, do you have any plan this year to have more foosball video? Maybe talking about some game strategy.
I see I see. Song is "Grace" by Apocalyptica. As for foos vids, I'll be making a new channel and going into some "NEXT LEVEL" practice drills and getting into some mental parts of the game along with strategy. So yeah, please stay tuned. I'll announce the new channel on here.. BUT.. it will be awhile before it's going. So please be patient.
