Im an AP and Rolex fanboy myself too - I really enjoyed this video! Congrats on your offshore - this is the best offshore by the way - it’s the modern version of the original! An icon indeed
I hope the London shops see your video and change the way they treat people. But it's sad that you have to "register" your interest just to buy a watch.
London normally have these readily available if not immediately, then within a month. Same for a black and grey dial dial Royal Oak 41mm only green etc is hard to get right now
love the video!!! smart choice going to greece. Here in the States, the LA, NY, Vegas, Dallas, boutiques won't even look at you, similarly to London. Cause there are so many high profile people competing for the same watch. Can i ask what do you do for work? or do you own your own business? All the best!
Congrats on your new AP! I recognize your experience with the AP store in London. In my case they were just plain rude and dismissive. But great that you found a new dealer abroad. I believe that the 38 mm is the correct size since the lugs flare out so that it wears much larger. Out of your two recent purchases, I prefer the Rolex. It's gold and it's classier looking. And the whole AP "customer experience" has also cooled my interest for the brand to a considerable extent.
Don’t give up on AP. Try some other stores. Plus if you find one abroad you’ll give yourself a good excuse for a holiday. There are three stores in london so if one has been rude try the other two. But yea the gold GMT is lovely.
Congratulations on your great purchase! How does the AP wear on the wrist? as it looks like quite a thick watch! i have to be a contrarian here in the comment section and I would prefer the Rolex above the AP.. these are both incredible watches that i would be amazingly proud of to own in both cases!! Absolutely stunning!
Yea the AP wears quite a bit bigger than the GMT - but I like it. The AP has such a nice quality feel to it. However, there are occasions when perhaps I’d want to wear something a bit more low-key.
@@watch_collecting i understand, the yellow gold certainly is not for daily wear, at least not in my daily situation! I have actually never handled an AP , so i would know the feeling, so i believe you instantly that they are well made!
@@watch_collecting Harrods might be the reason why. I do believe AP house has the greatest potensial yield, then Sloane Street! Fantastic watch mate, wear it in good health!
Super watch but surely you have to pay the VAT in the UK? I have a 26331OR Chrono chocolate dial & a 15400OR silver dial both 41mm & although I didn’t purchase from AP House my experience with them has been first class.
Be careful wearing the watch coming back through UK customs as if they stop you for any reason they can ask you to prove where & when you bought it & look into if the VAT & import duties have been paid. Wear a long sleeve shirt or don’t take it on holiday. If you get caught you will have to pay 20% VAT plus a fine plus import duties also if you sell the watch the VAT can still flag up & the fine & costs will always come back to you as the initial purchaser/Importer. I’m not trying to frighten you but the cost of import & VAT additions since Brexit is the reason why dealers find it not viable to buy from outside the UK anymore. If you plan on selling it in the future I would talk to someone in the watch trade & discuss if you should pay the VAT to HMRC & make the Watch clean. You have a beautiful watch wear it & enjoy it but be careful.
