Those cats belonged to Terry Melcher. He abandoned them when he left the house before Sharon and Roman Polanski moved in. Shame. Wonder what became of all of them. Said to be more than 20 cats. Sharon was nursing a sick little kitten when she died. Sharon Tate was an absolute saint. May she rest in eternal peace with her baby, mother, father and sister! She was truly a beautiful person, inside and out. She is known for her kindness and the world lost a sweet loving soul that night. Lots of people fixate on Manson and the Family but I think we should honor the victims. They were just minding their own business, living their lives and in the blink of an eye they were gone. I can't imagine her pain. To lose her daughter and grandson that didn't even get a chance to experience life. Then here she is dealing with her own grief but strong to help someone else to deal with theirs.
When I see old footage and photos of Sharon Tate, I don't just see a pretty face but a very delicate, sensitive and wholesomely sweet person who would have been a very wonderful mother. It breaks my heart when I'm reminded of what happened to her and her unborn child when videos like this randomly pop-up on my RU-vid recommendation list. They're probably recommended because I watched a 2009 Manson/Linda Kasabian documentary a few months ago and the algorithms picked up on it... There is no disrespect going on here. People are consoling each other. It’s a funeral for a movie star. Lots of people show up and since they hadn’t caught the killers yet…perhaps the police wanted everyone at the funeral filmed in case one of them was the perpetrator. They didn’t know who had done this and since murderers love to attend their victims funeral it makes sense to film everyone there. It is not disrespectful. If they had went inside and filmed her in the coffin….that would be disrespectful.

This was the 60s remember, there were no ultrasound scans used in hospitals and even when they were used later on in the 70s, they certainly couldn’t detect the foetus’s gender! I was born in 1998, 29 years after what happened and I can only imagine your pain especially growing up in that time period and watching her movies and films and only being 10 years old when she died 😭 my heart hurts for you that you were alive during all of this. I am reading a very good book on the whole affair now. It describes the photographers as actually keeping at a distance while snapping pics with telephoto lenses. They really are in a (lower) class all by themselves.

There was a great deal of hype The grown ups were aghast lol But I was so young at that time it was years before I saw it. I was born exactly two months after this tragedy. It's very sad to think that the baby couldn't come into the world, nor live the life, a happy life to which he was entitled. His beautiful young mother did not live to receive and care for him either. Their friends couldn't protect them, even though they paid with their lives for being there. And the rest of the families, friends and fans also died a little that day. Because after such a terrible event, people are never the same again.

I always admired her mother attending every parole hearing & confronting those Monsters called the Manson family, until she died!! Have you ever seen videos of her at the killers parole hearings? Doris Tate was no punk! She used to let them - and some of their family members - have it. Bruce Lee was a very good friend to Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski, and had been at there house several times. Bruce was also a very close friend of Jay Sebring and was very upset upon hearing what had happened to them. Bruce Lee attended this funeral with Joe Hyams a Columnist for The Saturday Evening Post.

One of the saddest things you'll never want to see, the death of a pregnant woman buried with her baby in her arms. I went to a funeral once when I was a kid and I seen that lady with her baby in that coffin really did a number on me. I stop, I couldn't go any closer, I didn't want to see anymore. The baby was wrapped in a blanket but I didn't want to see it

The tall and very striking blonde is said to have been Jay Sebring's girlfriend at the time of the murders. You see John and Michelle again. I believe that is Barbara Parkins, in the black veil, at 4:52, obviously distraught and waiting to speak with Doris Tate. Barbara was Sharon's maid of honor at her wedding to Roman.
@TheTimmyH , there were some close to Sharon who said she was planning to divorce Roman if he didn't change when the baby was born. The daughter of one of Jay Sebring's business partners confirmed this. Sharon may have in fact already decided to start divorce proceedings even earlier. It's one of those things that can't be known for sure because of the murders. While I think Roman loved Sharon as far as he was capable, he was insensitive jerk to her a lot of the time.

From what I've researched IMO, I do believe Roman loved her. But there are many who stated he is a "playboy". And he did rape a teenager in the 70s and fled prosecution. For me anyway, watching his press conference, that was no act. He was a broken man. We ALL take loved ones, and life in general,for granted....... And I'm sure, he never imagined his wife and friends would be killed in their home.The part in that press conference that broke my heart was how he describes their bedroom.. I was 17 years old when this horrible event happened. I was still watching Saturday morning cartoons if you can believe that! I was not all that far from the murders. The cartoons stopped and an special report came on about something that happened in Benedict canyon and at the home of actress Sharon Tate! (I had seen that property in fan magazines as many rock starts had lived there) The entire story was unbelievable! When the reality of what went down that night was revealed----I got the most horrible feeling of shock and horror! Who on earth could do something so horrifying and to be able to murder so many people including a nearly full term pregnant woman using knives and a old west gun? To find out later that the grounds-keeper heard and witnessed the entire event and was lucky enough to hide probably in the bushes (the murderers had gone into the guest house where he lived) and to hear all the shots and screams of the victims would have driven me insane! I have read that to this day this man is not entirely right. Poor man and poor victims.
Diane William Garret did not witness anything he heard screams he thought it was something else but yes he never got over it he had survivors guilt he is quoting as saying why wasn't I murdered too he passed from Heart Failure in 2017 or 18 the thing is if the cops really thought he did it why was his place and person not covered in blood that was a bloody crime scene

He was an immediate suspect and arrested on the spot. He may have been walking the dogs at just the right time when Patricia Krenwinkel went to see if anyone was in the guest house.

Especially murdering strangers so brutually with no motive, including a pregnant women. Yes, it was less common in wealthy areas. I'm not referring to people who were killed in wars. I believe after reading Chaos, Charles Manson, the CIA and the 1960’s book that this should never have happened but the FBI, CIA and the LAPD all allowed many things happen for the crime to have happened. The incredible determination, strength of spirit and the unbreakable bonds of family are truly humbling to me, as I've watched them, one after another, fight a battle of 40 years duration to keep the animals who slaughtered their sister/daughter & 6 other innocent victims, in prison. I vividly remember Mrs. Doris Tate ask Watson, point blank, what mercy he showed her pregnant daughter... Watson said nothing. I'm so sorry for all the pain caused to the all the victims families and I wish them some measure of peace.🙏❤️

Charles Manson had been there when Terry Melcher lived there but didn't know that he had moved to another house. Manson just told his "family" to go there and kill whoever was there. This happened a long time ago but I remember an interview with Steve McQueen shortly after the Tate/LaBianca killings. The murders had not yet been solved and panic had spread throughout Hollywood & the surrounding affluent areas. McQueen stated that he took a gun to Sharon's funeral. They had worked together on a movie. (can't remember which movie it was) Anyway, he did attend Sharon & Jay's funeral.
