No período compreendido entre 22 de janeiro a 3 de abril de 2022, 8 operacionais do Grupo de Análise e Uso do Fogo (GAUF) da Força Especial de Proteção Civil (FEPC) da Autoridade Nacional de Emegência e Proteção Civil (ANEPC) participaram uma missão de apoio e troca de experiências no Chile, participando ativamente na supressão de incêndios e atividades formativas, com ênfase na análise de incêndios e uso do fogo técnico.
Estes operacionais foram integrados numa equipa de especialistas da Fundação Pau Costa, de Espanha. Esta equipa contou com elementos com uma vasta experiência e conhecimento na temática dos incêndios florestais, nomeadamente o Corpo de Bombers de la Generalitat da Catalunha e da INFOCA de Andaluzia, Espanha.
Esta equipa operaou no terreno com a estreita articulação da Corporación Nacional Forestal (CONAF), entidade do Ministério da Agricultura Chileno, responsável pela preservação e administração das políticas florestais.
Os elementos da missão Luso-espanhola tiveram igualmente a oportunidade de colaborar com as entidades locais, tendo sido analisadas as ações de combate efetuadas para controlar a emergência e identificadas medidas que poderão contribuir para melhorar a eficácia e eficiência das operações de combate aos incêndios.

In the period from January 22 to April 3, 2022, 8 operatives from the Fire Analysis and Use Group (GAUF) of the Civil Protection Special Force (FEPC) of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) participated in a support mission support and exchange of experiences in Chile, actively participating in fire suppression and training activities, with emphasis on fire analysis and the use of technical fire.
These operatives were integrated into a team of specialists from the Pau Costa Foundation, in Spain. This team had members with extensive experience and knowledge on the subject of forest fires, namely the Bombers Corps of the Generalitat of Catalonia and INFOCA of Andalusia, Spain.
This team operated in the field with the close articulation of Corporación Nacional Forestal (CONAF), an entity of the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture, responsible for the preservation and administration of forest policies.
The members of the Portuguese-Spanish mission also had the opportunity to collaborate with local entities, having analyzed the combat actions taken to control the emergency and identifying measures that could contribute to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of firefighting operations.
