Alexander Skarsgard (born Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgard on 25 August, 1976 in Stockholm , Sweden)- is a Swedish actor who comes from a family of actors . He began acting at age 7 but quit at 13 . After serving the Swedish Navy, he returned to acting and gained his first role in the US comedy film Zoolander (2001). He played Brad Colbert in the miniseries Generation Kill (2008). He had his breakthrough for portraying vampire Eric Northman in the TV series True Blood (2008-2014).
