THE BEST MONOLOGUE EVER: "it's so refreshing to see a superstar that not only knows what they're talking about, but is also still in love with the concept of acting. she's starring in nearly million-dollar blockbusters, but she still admires acting as if she's a hungry drama student. the best thing about cate blanchett is that whether she's acting in a poignant tale of forbidden romance, or a comedy fuelled heist adventure, you know that you're going to be treated with the best performance that she can give, because she simply love what she does, and that's why we love her."
Carol has to be one the greatest romance films of all time. I've seen it 3 times, and it gets better each time. And more heartbreaking too. Damn that ending. It makes me wish they would make 4 more films just following their relationship. But no, they shouldn't. Don't milk a good thing, let it be. It's a fantastic experience.
Yes, i agree. Their romance is one of the best on cinema. It makes me believe in love (: The ending was perfect cause it wasn't exactly a cliché happy ending. We don't know what's gonna happen with the of two of them, but surely we wish for them to be together. And it's implied that they gonna give each other another chance.
My favourite film. Everything about it is perfect; the score, the performances, the cinematography, the story and dialogue, the period. Plus, it is just very moving.
@@thegossipswan009 I guess, they come together: Carol had say in the movie, Therese should come to her and her friends in the restaurant, when she changing her opinion about moving together with Carol in their flat. I think, the end is clearly: Therese decided to move together with Carol. I think it was a good end.
It is without a doubt one of the most heartbreaking, yet satisfying movies ever. It doesn't have a cliché ending where they live happily ever after, but we still know that something will happen between them after the last scene. We get to make up our own perfect ending if we want to or we could just accept that we won't know what happens after that. Cate Blanchett is one of the best actresses out there!
Someone finally said it, that Cate Blanchett is one of the great actresses of all time, and she really has a passion for her career. It's more than just a job for her it is part of her. Just watch any of her interviews for Carol or any movie in fact, the way she lights up, you can tell she loves what she does. And if you still don't see it, just look at Cannes2018. All the proof you need ;)
Cate never gives a bad performance, she always gives everything that she has to the role, whether is in ‘Carol’ or ‘Thor’ she always steals the show 🤟🏻 P.S. she has 7 Oscar noms, not six, and I think the 8th one is coming this year....
Where'd You Go, Bernadette, It's directed by Richard Linklater (the guy who made Boyhood) and the company behind it is Annapurna Pictures, which is a huge oscar player. Cate is the lead in the film.
Plus: she's extremely intelligent, witty, compassionate and very funny. And she's a great listener. She's a feminist and an egalitarian and it always shows because whenever someone says or asks something ignorant - whether it's intentional or not - she always, ALWAYS reacts and says whatever she thinks must be said without any fear. I LOVE HER SO MUCH 😍😍😭😍❤❤❤ #hailtothequeen 🙌
@@21swords76 really? Do you know these 95% women? Do you think they were born as "rich and privileged"? All of them? Didn't they come from somewhere? Do they not have a story? And can't you speak out against something you believe in or believe against unless and until you have been personally affected by it? Don't white people also speak out against racism? Feminism isn't just about the tiny minority of "privileged" women. It's also about the huge, huge majority of oppressed women living in every goddamn oppressive nation. But what do I know?! I must be one of your "privileged" women too. After all, I have an internet connection, right?
How poignant that the background music for this 4 year old (as I write this) video is the very same Bach composition that Cate as Lydia Tar plays on the piano in the Julliard scene in TAR, for which she was robbed, yet again, of what probably ought to have been her fifth Academy Award (in addition to TAR, I'm adding Elizabeth, and Carol). Absolute Goddess; and yet a very human, human being...which is what makes her so.
Carol to me was the best movie cate has ever done. The way she produced the character Carol and protraded her was truly amazing. Cate has made me fall in love with her and the movie so much. And I couldn’t imagine a better actress to portray carol than cate
Meryl is so overrated. Blanchett is easily the best english speaking actress in the world. Only actresses like Isabelle Huppert or Marion Cotillard, are at the same level as her.
Greatest actress of all time in my opinion, she deserves 5 oscars or more. I think she should do directing coz she's intelligent that she knows and loves her craft... love her as a person and actress...she's born in the year of the rooster so she's undoubtedly a hardworking actress 😍
This is very true, though. Cate’s passion and love for acting, film, and theatre is probably what makes her so beloved by audiences and critics. You can just SEE and FEEL how happy she is when she acts. I feel like a lot of actors gradually lose that spark as their careers go on, but Cate never lost it. She always gave 100% of herself and to this day still challenges herself to grow and do what she loves.
Hl A no I don't know her but from interviews I can tell that she's eloquent and intelligent. And beauty is really subjective, for me she is one of the most beautiful woman I "know"
Carol is undeniably her best performance so far, just brilliant and she even mentioned in an interview that people talk to her about that film than any other film.
I think she is the best actress in the whole world. I have the asperger syndrome, a form of autism, and for me film watching normally is not very easy, because i can not read emotions in faces very good...normally i dont recognize, when two people in a film kissing soon. But when Cate plays, i can read perfectly in her face, when i saw for the first time "Robin Hood", i know before, that marian will kiss robin, saw it in Cates face, the same was it in Carol, there also i know before that Carol will kiss Therese. And for me it is not easy to recognize emotions in a voice, but when i watch Cates movies in englisch(i am from germany, but i watch them only in english) i can recognize every emotion, even irony, in her voice. What she makes with her face and her voice when she acting is really ingenious. I really love er way to acting, her movies are for me easyer to watch than movies without her. For me she is the best actress hollywood ever had and i really admire her.
"She's the only person who could've pulled this off without seeming gimmicky." I love Cate, but are we just going to ignore that Tatiana did this for 5 seasons of a show...
I love seeing the passion in people’s eyes and in their voices when they talk about what they love. I notice it in myself when i talk about my paintings and drawings, but hearing it from older people, i love seeing that almost childlike excitement when they speak about what they love doing, and it shows through in a very beautiful way no matter how old you are and whether you are put together and professional or not. One of my favorite things to see
I wasn't even sure in which films she had a role before watching this video. And I will have forgotten again tomorrow. She just blends into the movies so well.
I saw her twice in The Present on Broadway - not a great play, but her performances both nights were amazing. She was the hardest working actor on that stage. She owned every moment whether she had lines or not. I couldn't take my eyes off her. Seeing what she was able to do with that weak play, I can't even imagine what it would be like to see her in a great play.
Shes like the female Johnny Depp but actually a million times better haha She does what Johnny Depp use to do. Hes so talented but idk what's happening recently but regardless, Cate is absolutely amazing. You always know someones a damn good actor when 1) u forget you're watching a movie and the person isn't "real" and is playing a part 2) when youve watched a movie a million times and someone goes "oh i loved ---insert actors name-- in ---insert movie---" and you had absolutely no idea thats who was playing the role because they changed everything about themselves and literally became another person... thats my favorite lol

'I’m not giving up HOPE. As I say to my kids, if we’re going out, how do we CHOOSE to go out?"/.../ "In acting, people talk about [how] to ‘WIN’ the scene. No, we have to MAKE the scene come ALIVE” CATE the GREAT!
