I know this might be hard to understand but this video is my opinion, not fact. Also it's meant primarily for entertainment, so before you comment why I'm wrong, just know that I don't give a shit.
I love when I try to GB and stab as a PK and a Conqueror smashes me across the back with a heavy, taking my health and making me lose my full bleed I could have done.
Where "help" is replaced with trying to steal your kill. But since only morons and useless players do this they instantly trigger the revenge with their hit spamming.
slandarien no its not you will both get the kill.the annoying thing is when your teammate fucking hits you and makes you bleed too(nobushi im talking about you).
"Hey I'm doing a pretty good job holding this objective, Had some close calls with a couple 1v2s and had to reclaim after dying to a 1v3 but we've had this zone most of the game. I wonder how my teammates are doin-" "YOUR TEAM IS BREAKING" Every goddamn time.
Skirmish is worse. In dominion, I've seen people move to other zones and try to keep them all. In skirmish, the winning team stays together and it's always you and maybe some team mates vs. 4 people.
Wineblood yeah I agree skirmish is ass at least In the other one if the hole team gets together on a point you just split up n take two points n move to the one the where on when they go to take one of the two back
ive had full skirmish games where Ive just been running from 3 players the majority of the game. There often is nothing else you can do but pick and choose fights over buffs. But i think the buffs apply far too quickly, its as if youre not in dash range of someone they just get the buff too easily imo.
Cristian Arriaza makes little sense as if youre immobilized enough to be unable to sprint youre probably unable to dodge a 6ft weapon coming at you as well, meaning you may aswell just die
SuperCatacata I've had people so devoted to running away from me when they are at full health that I can spam PK lunge attack until they die and they will never stop trying to run.
i think your problem is your too concentrated on kills. sounds dumb i know but if someone runs i just let them cause it takes them out of game and makes it easier to cap and hold objectives. as annoying as people running away is it doesnt win them games
True, it's a complex game mode if you allow it to be. I've often found myself spawn rushing the enemy because they're all greedy, and rather than leave one or even two players to handle me, they all stay in spawn and of course while they eventually kill me, my team has just captured every point and are about to spawn rush them like I did but for kills.
Also, there IS a good chance they will run into a team mate and get that last bit of HP taken and die. I always imagine them dying on spikes when they run away....
Gang Star pk sucks i stomp out every pk i see. i main berserker btw no one has ever called him op. it's all about match ups i personally suck against turtle wardens
In my opinion, you're getting good when you know how to read an opponent, and you're getting really good when you can read multiple opponent and vanquish them.
You're not supposed to chase people down. When they run from the point and you take/defend it, it's basicly like you got the kill. Kills matter more when their team breaks and they cannot respawn.
I totally agree with this. As somebody who never played the beta's, I never had a chance in 1v1's in the beginning. A combination of Dominion and playing Duels' against bots actually made me some what decent. That, and dominion requires some level of strategy coupled with skill. You aren't winning dominion on skill alone and I think that's why a lot of players don't like it.
+Marshall Strowbridge - It is skill alone. It's just that it's not fighting skill alone. Strategy is a skill, after all. You have to keep an eye on the strategic situation, and it seems many people who enjoy fighting games find that difficult, because most players I see in the game have no idea what they need to be doing in terms of strategy.
I know this is your opinion, and I respect that. But it’s the opinion of a person who doesn’t understand dominion. I personally don’t like duel and brawl, because every player turtles the entire time. There’s a lot of skill involved in 1vX fighting, and target swapping through combos is easily one of the coolest feelings in this game. Dominion was the game mode with the most chance for spectator “pro team” play (if UBI hadn’t screwed the pooch with no spectator mode and no servers). The managing of point control, team comps, rotations, feat selection and use-it’s the only mode that wasn’t going to be “just another 1v1 fighting game.” Sadly, all the user tourney focused instead on 1v1, for ease reasons, although the 2v2 tourneys were pretty cool. Dominion is this games “summoner’s rift.” Duel looks more like practice by comparison (and that’s not to say it takes no skill).
Dominion has its moments but due to new characters the old strats aren't as effective like swapping targets mid combo or turtling and as time goes on it just gets more annoying to play the 4v4 game modes but I like XP so I play those modes
codethulhu It objectively has bad connection issues, and mechanics that aren't relevant to the game and take no skill to abuse, like a maxed out Pk in the same lobby as people who have no gear, and that gear can make PK do similar damage to Shugoki.
I agree too, I play on ps4 and get that same error message too, like you said sick of getting gang raped off like 3 guys coz my team members are dead already or just scratching their nuts somewhere else.
1. Connection issues is so epic in this game it's fricken meme worthy. Totally agree there. 2. I main with a Lawbringer and I LOVE it when they run. My sprint is near max and when I finally chase them down, I make them pay with a joyride on my pig sticker! Huzzah! 3. I don't even get salty anymore when I get thrown to my death. It's so cheesy it's funny.... Of course it's funnier and better when I do it to them though. 4. PKs suck in Dominion??!! Damned right they SHOULD!! Even in the hands of a noob those bitches keep me awake at night! You leave me ALONE PK!! Or else I'm runnin to my friends so we can put the kaibash on all that dancin!
Lincoln Mennuti Meme up. 2: when you take them for that ride play the Thomas the Train theme song 3. Sing "I believe I can fly" while you fall to your doom.
Would love to play any game mode other than dominion or breach but from my experience on ps4 there are so few people playing this game that any other game mode has so few people queuing up for it that it is impossible to find a match in a reasonable amount of time
A wise man once said "There is no honor in dying". If you can use the environment or run for help, better to do that than die. It's not like you get any bonus for dying honorably, but you do get a can get a bonus for not dying. I think it's funny that you shit on a game mode for "entertainment", because it doesn't fit your play style or your character. However, Peace keeper is one of my favorites to use in Dominion. You seem like most people that i notice in dominion, more concerned with fighting than building the team score. Why chase anybody if they run, get the bonus for defending your capture point, wait for them to come to you. Also, why chase what you can shoot? I found it funny you highlight chasing frustration, when have the bow equipped. The beauty of double team in the dominion is it means it's easier for your teammates can possibly get the advantage. I personally have never had a more satisfying experience in this game, than defending a capture point in a 2v1. If you find yourself in a lot of 3v1 in dominion, your team is likely just getting slaughtered and it has very little to do with the nature of the game mode. The more time you can maintain a 2v1 on a capture point the more likely your team will be able to take over the other capture points and assist you. Adjusting your position from killing to capturing can help spread the battlefield and force more 1v1 2v1 situations. This can prevent the type of swarming that is typical in skirmish matches. I love dominion because i'm not a big fan of fighters like SF or MK, so Dominion adds just enough to allow strategy to play as much a part of winning as being skilled. If all you care about is 1v1, then Dominion is obviously not for you. However if you like Team Fortress and the countless CTF shooter modes, then dominion could be the most fun you get out of this game.
I want to add that you don't need to win a 2v1 to profit. If you can stall two players or more by your lonesome, that is profit even if no one kills anyone.
Couldn't agree more. I just started playing this game 4 days ago and I'm in hook line and sinker. Like you said the point is not really fighting in this mode, It's holding a point and recapturing lost points, fighting is necessary of course but the strategy is different. My friend and I really started to hate this mode cause we were always on the losing team. We would chase people, take on multiples by ourselves, and worry about taking over a point and running to the next one. Now we capture a point, with help, and hold it. If I come upon a lost point with 3 opponents there and I'm flying solo, I'm running like a bitch until help (i.e reinforcements) arrive, you do more for a team alive and assisting than respawning every 2 min cause you lone wolf it. Now, we love it, completely changed how we feel about it. Granted I tried shinobi in this and it was a no go (although I've come across opposing shinobi and they managed well) so there is an advantage to some hero's, but not to a point of being broken. The only thing I really hate is that switching targets is a pain in the ass. They need a quick reverse button or something. Other than that, there's no better feeling of getting jumped and not only holding your own but whooping multiple asses. Does it happen often? Not so much, but it is awesome when it does. And for the record, once we changed our mindset and strategy, we are winning more, a lot more.
It depends on the culture, Viking’s used to believe that dying in battle is the most honourable way to die, if you lived long then you were an outcast. Also Sparta used to believe that there was no honor in losing a battle and returning home, you either came back victorious, or you died in battle.
(conquerer with heal on block ftw) Also, with connection. Fue Hunor runs on peer 2 peer where computers directly connect to each other instead of using a server as a middleman. This makes an environment that is by theory, perfectly lag free and fair for everyone involved since there is no delay between what you do and what others do However, like communism it goes in the shitter pretty quick, if even 1 person falls out the entire bundle falls apart or it has to desperatly search for the person, stopping gameplay and being even more interrupting than lag So while you wont have lag when it works great, you'll be disconnected much more often due to the stability of lacing together 8 computers that may break up EVEN IF ITS NOT YOUR FAULT.
I'm actually gonna be getting the game this Friday. Your videos are definitely my favorite for honor videos to watch. Keep up the good work. Just subbed!
funny how Shmolty prefers a "real 2v2 brawls" as he said on his "Honest Guide to EVERY HERO in For Honor" video and runs to the other opponent and hates Dominion for the very same reason that people can be engaged in a 2v1 or a 3v1
I think the two things that make me dislike 4v4 go hand in hand, the first is matchmaking, I don't see how Ubisoft thought it fair to pit four people with a max level 18 or something against 4 people with a minimum level prestige 3 lol. Especially when gear stats matter, which is my other problem; revenge builds. Idk I just don't like the idea of hitting the enemy orochi twice and them getting revenge mode and do two light attacks that hit harder then nukes. But hey it's just my opinion otherwise it's not terrible.
Why would he ? He's just a rant player who plays kinda easy and OP classes to compensate low skills and this video looks like he got rekt like a virgin, he quit game and starts making this video :))
I like dominion because you don't have to be as good. The good players are focused on their fight with 1 person, meanwhile I'm busy running from my duel and attacking someone else since the people who are better than me don't see me coming. I've noticed that due to this, said better players have less collected concentration due to shitting themselves due to being super ganked by 3 people constantly, allowing me to catch them off guard with an easily counterable guard breaks that they don't see coming, then throwing them into a hole.
What makes me laugh so fucking hard is when someone is already rep 13 and thinks they're good. Then they 1v1 me and I absolutely destroy them with my rep 2 warden😂. That's how I know that they only play dominion because they're just trash lmao
Dominion is a warzone there no honor in warzone I don't understand how people cant understand that if you want honor fight then play 1v1 because in dominio you have to reach 1000 point then start the slaughtering them before they slaughter that why I like dominon cause it feels like a warzone that my opinion
1: Fixed as of now 2: Play someone else (It's not the assassin' role to 1v2. Conq and Kensei are better a better fit for that) / Stay with your team / Don't get into fights with odds against you if you don't have to / Git gud 3: Let them leave, then take the zone and boom, problem solved. The objective isn't to kill players, but capture zones.
DottEd boi You are going to fight people, because at some point you will find out that you lose games if you run away. I never run into people who run from a fight.
DottEd boi You WILL fight people. because the objective is to capture the points. The other team has the same objective as you and you WILL encounter them when trying to capture the zones.
My biggest gripe with really all the 4v4 game modes is the random people you play with. I’m not saying “I’m better than all of my teammates ever” but sometimes they get really annoying. Sometimes I get HARD carried by some really skilled players. Like once in a breach game It was basically me trying to defend the cauldron and attack the ram while I had two teammates defending the health circle. It was a 1v2 shitshow at all times and it wasn’t fun. The only issue dominion itself has isn’t really an issue with anything big, it’s just some characters like raider, conq, etc. can push you off ledges or into hazards which nearly all zones have, and kill you while you were already fighting two people. But yea still pretty fun. (Most of the time)
Savage Cavin It is. If you lose, there's no point in playing it since the game is like fucking 20 minutes long whereas you could play a short 2v2 fair balanced game. Dominion pisses me off for the biggest reasons. A bunch of Orochis running away like fucking squirrels, then you got that sweaty 15 takedown a game dude, then you have the dude who just started playing For Honor, and lastly, can't forgot about either the Nobushi or Peacekeeper main... fuck I hate saying this because it pisses me off when I think about it. (No offense Nobushi or Peacekeeper mains) (Fuck whoever plays Orochi)
A bad player blames the game. Dominion is ALL about skill, but it's not a simple game mode like the others. If you want to avoid being pushed over ledges, learn to counter block breaks. If you can't do that, DON'T FIGHT NEAR LEDGES. I mean, surely it's not that difficult. If you want to beat gankers, STOP FIGHTING THEM and instead go where they aren't, because if a team is ganking, they can only be effective in one zone, and they cannot defend all the zones. Again, it's not rocket science. And it's not as if a team of gankers is invisible - you can see where enemies are on the map. Just avoid them. You don't have to fight to win in this game, and fighting a superior force is always stupid, unless you can delay them while your pals are taking other zones. If you want to beat sprinters, STOP CHASING THEM. You can ignore them and go boost your zones - that will get you far more points than killing them will. At the end of the game, the timer will eventually run out and they'll lose. Stop chasing them, and they'll get bored and attack you. If you chase them, you're just doing what they want. You're saying Peacekeeper is great in any other mode, but not in Dominion? Then why use her in Dominion? If you think she's that bad in Dominion, use a different hero for that game mode! Again, it's not rocket science. I don't have any friends that play the game either, but I win probably 3/4 of the Dominion games I play, because although I'm not the best fighter, I've learned how to win even when the rest of my team is crap. How? Well, it's all about avoiding the enemy, taking undefended enemy zones and boosting friendly zones. Anyone with an ounce of strategic sense can do that, because 90% of players are crap - they play Dominion with no strategic sense. Most people playing Dominion do not know how to win. They focus on fighting, and Dominion is not about that. It's all about zone control. Dominion is For Honor's main game mode: it incorporates everything in the other game modes and it adds a strategy element. Some players, perhaps even most players, can't handle that. That's not the game's fault. I guarantee I can help anyone play better if they show me a video of them playing Dominion. Virtually no one knows how to play this game mode effectively. For example, at 0:00 - the start of your video, you shouldn't even be fighting between those ledges - you're asking to be thrown in. You should be holding at the edge of the zone as far away from the ledges as possible. More importantly, your team is failing to boost zone A. Since that's the case, what are they doing? They're not helping you at C. So they must be fighting at zone B? If so, why, when they already control that zone? Sorry, dude, but both you and your team are playing incompetently. Later, at 0:25, you show a scene where your team is, once again, failing to boost the boost zone that your team controls. This is simply inexcusable. At 1:00 the video shows why you're losing - the enemy team is boosting his zones while your team isn't. Notice a pattern? In fact, pretty much every Dominion clip you show in this video shows you fighting too close to a ledge and your team not boosting its zones. And you wonder why you keep losing?
One thing he didn’t mention in the video was when you’re playing with randos and you get someone to really low health, sometimes a teammate will come out of nowhere and fill there revenge up or steals my kill :( In the revenge case I’ve had several cases where I outclass someone but they do massive damage to me and kill my teammate after they fill them up. Like dude, I was full and almost had him... now we’re both dead That’s bot an issue with dominion just something annoying you can’t do anything about. (I’ve tried just letting my teammate finish them off but sadly somehow, the warden with 2 health killed him)
Its interesting watching this video almost a year after, where problems, such as sprint speed and overpowered revenge, are no longer an issue. And personally, I've found that there's a thrill in getting ganked, and not only getting ganked but managing to beat all of them. Its happened so much i'd almost call it addicting :p
Bruh. You're so correct. That's why I team up with some rep 20+ Conqs, Warlords, Wardens, PKs, Shugos and Nobushis, and destroy my enemies. Oh and I'm a rep 26 Warlord with revenge gear obviously. You really need to be active and respond quickly as a team to avoid those 1v2s. Takes a different kind of skill and team communication. 100% different game if you compare duels to dominion. Fastest xp to play Dominion like this --> high rep. If I played duels all this time I'd be a better player but first I gotta get that rep 30 :)
100% agree man. I hate dominion for the same reasons, Duels and Brawls are where it is at. All I see are people hate on PK and Orochi, but no hate on the Heavy characters that have unblockable and uninterruptable attacks for days. I subscribed. Keep it up, bud.
Dominion is fun if you have a group of friends to play with, then you can coordinate so that they can intercept fleeing enemies. Have one player each on A and C, and the two others on B. If A or C require help one or both the players on B come to help. And if an enemy tries to flee from say C to the path on the left, you can have one of your friends intercept them from there.
#1 REASON WHY DOMINION IS SHIT: THE PLAYER BASE SUCKS. NOONE EVER IS IN GAME CHAT, IVE PLAYED THE GAME FOR LIKE 6 HOURS STRAIGHT ONE DAY AND I HEARD NOONE BUT THE SOUND OF A CENT GRUNTING AS HE SPARTAN KICKS ME OFF A LEDGE
You forgot to mention that soldiers are so incredible that they all fight for enemies. Either it's literally enemy soldiers and the fight for your enemy or it's your soldiers that bodyblock you when you're trying to escape getting 2v1'd somewhere around them.
You forgot about the feats. Kensei gets unstoppable making all their attacks unblockables. Almost every hero gets some form of long range high damage feat too, such as fire arrows, bows, bombs. Berseker's axe, Orochi's kunai, Valkyrie's spear, and the broken af catapult of one-shotting destruction! Some even get a healing feat, like Warden and Kensei, and it's got a fast cooldown rate in combat.
I myself like Dominion because it feels really good when you get the 5% of fun. For example, just yesterday, my team was breaking and I was getting double teamed by a lawbringer and a shaman as a warden. So I called a catapult directly ontop of them, rolled away and killed both. The rest of my team captured C and A, which caused the enemy team to break. (I was playing on the Shard). A raider then attempted to ledge me into the moat at B with his charge, but I dodged that and then guard break and threw him into the moat. Then my team stopped breaking, I revived the bot on my team and a friend who I was playing with, and then they ganked the last guy who was at A. But when it's not that 5% of fun, Dominion is pretty annoying.
This is actually the best video I've seen on why someone doesn't like something about this game. Everyone else cries about something being op or crying that people have no honor/gank constantly.
I agree with some of what you said, and can certainly see why some people hate gamemodes such as Domion. I personally find all the chaos extremely fun. Especially when you're getting ganked and still somehow manage to kill all of them, and capture the point.
100% with you! i only play duels and brawls. i love the "bushido blade" feel (old school PS game from the 90's) and i've been waiting for so long to get that kind of game again. great job on the delivery throughout all your videos. love the content and the humour:) Big fan!! FYI i'm Centurion all the way:) Moonman3001 is my tag. i'd love a 1-1:)
I may be a year late but I gotta say you're right. 100% and I don't know why I keep playing it. I tried my first 1v1 earlier (after hurdling my inferiority complex) and I fucking wrecked. that. shit.
if you are playing peacekeeper (or other assassin) in dominion your job is to run between A and C (most maps) and keep them under control while also countering any ganking you see your team suffering by pulling focus after knifing one of them, if ganked yourself you should try to escape if possible
I completely agree with you, but dominion is the only thing I play because it's the only thing I'm good at. It sucks not having a team back you up when you're being double teamed in duel as a Nobushi
Just a different beast, friend. It took me 3 days of almost exclusively dominion to get that. I've got friends who use PK and wreck face in this mode. Going 14-0 in some games, and they don't even have gear stats(using their alt character for fun).
The thing with Dominion is, players that spend enough time doing it get that juicy gear score. Something I've noticed is that when a player gets a high enough gear score, they seem to stop caring about being good, stop countering, stop.. everything, and rely soley on the fact that their gear makes them near impossible to kill, and makes me 2 hittable.
The only time I try to run away is when I'm trying to have a nice battle and then I get molested by their whole team from behind... and there's always that one law bringer who impales me
I think it might be because, judging from the gameplay, you play Dominion like you would play brawl or duel and doing that is practically a death sentence. As a raider main I have fun in Dominion because I'm proficient in ledge warfare, gank survival, and 1v1s. I also use feats to my advantage. The rush feat lets me chase down runners like a rabid dog. The bear trap feat lets me guard bodies and objectives. The second wind feat lets me get some health before, during, and after fights. Finally the fire flask feat lets me actually be able to clear minions quickly and help out my team mates. I can't count how many ganks I've broken up with this thing.
Dominion is literally just trying to capture a point with your teammate, seeing 2 enemy's come, fighting them, your teammate losing and dying in the progress, almost killing the guy fighting you, then getting double teamed. Or, getting double triple teamed
I’m a conqueror main and I completely agree with how for honor should be based on skill I’ve had a really funny scenario happen once when I was attacked by the entire enemy team while my team and theirs were breaking and had revenge mode and juggernaut and almost killed everyone except for one who ran away but got killed by my friend afterwards
things i don't like about dominion: not being able to finish a game. things i don't like about duel & brawl: map design. i don't like being restricted in my positioning. and sometimes maps in 1v1 are just a bridge with death traps on both sides. i don't wanna be there.
The thing of chancing someone was actually takin in to consideration with the developers. That’s why you have running attacks, if you get double teamed used that big boy revenge. Or you can get good at parrying and you can parry multiple people at once. Try playing it more than 3 matches, play it for 30 matches and change your characters stats to fit it. I hated it too at the start but now I like it more because I’ve played it more
My only argument with the statements in this video, is running away. If they run away, you can capture the objective. Whether you kill them or they run back to their team, it has the same effect.
I think the reason I enjoy it is exactly that sense of chaos which happens on a real battlefield. At any point you can get double teamed or annihilated in a team fight. That's a very cold, hard reality punch that I personally appreciate. It forces you to play more "realistically". The zone control does help with this to some extant, but I feel like if the maps were bigger and the zones more spread out, and maybe some other objectives, or even if the minions got a buff it could solve these problems you've been having. A giant battle is supposed to be a cluster fuck, and you need a certain masochistic mind set to appreciate it. Think less 1v1 or 2v2 and more like one big mosh pit where everyone is getting fucked but it's fun because it's insane.
"It's about skill. It's about beating the person you are fighting for the sole reason that you are a better player." *B-roll of light attack spam peacekeeper* K
there's a way to fix this. if they run out of certain area after engaging in last fight, make the runners lose. unless they still have revive-able teammate. or don't let em heal once they're out of said area.
I get exactly what you mean. For Honor is a game that's about showing off skill and getting swamped by noobs after dominating in a 1v1 situation really use to piss me off. But with that said, I realized Dominion is a different situation that focuses on strategy over skill which I like as a switch up from the other game modes. It definitely awards people with friends because they're able to communicate the perfect strategy. But I find being put into those 1vX situations ups your skill overall as a fighter in game. It does wonders for practice blocking. So in short, I agree with why you hate dominion but for me personally, the mode has definitely grown on me as an unwind from duels and brawls.
Now imagine yourself being a kensei that just started playing and your team is like shoguki, pk , warden and the other team is 4 conquerers (correct me if i misspeled it) and when match starts, all of your teamates go to A and you to B, 3 conquerers charge at B one at A and they don't even think you need help with 1 vs 3 while your 3 teamates trying to kill 1 conquerer in A
Theres no need to chase anyone unless the team is breaking. The point of the game is to earn point by capturing zones. If people start running away from you during Dominon, find a zone to capture and gain more points dont waste time chasing
I personally hate Dominion and Skirmish both with a fiery passion and here I main with a Conqueror and Lawbringer. My personal favorite game types are Elimination, Duel, and Brawl. I prefer playing game modes that actually relies on personal skill over someone just randomly jumping. Granted this happens in Elimination but I don't find it to happen as much as the other two game modes.
Weirdly enough during the beta and when the game launched I would only play dominion but I ended up starting to play way more 1v1 and 2v2 because of the same problems mentioned in this video and now it feels weird when I'm playing with more than 1 friend and nobody apart from me wants to play death match so then we are obligated to play dominion
