HEYA is the Korean expression of Sun. The story of a hungry tiger trying to eat a woman and children, "The Sun and the Moon," is an old Korean fairy tale
Their MV contained some elements that some Chinese people find similar to their cultural origin, so they are bombarding various sites and posts involving Heya mv with accusatory remarks and claims that they stole Chinese culture and even committed plagiarism. In the process their downplaying this mv, they are nitpicking the dance performance as well. As for the similarity of cultural elements, they are mostly unfounded, and considering the geographical proximity of two countries, quite a few resemblances are inevitable as you can understand. Chinese government has been trying to build up their presence in the world economically, militarily and culturally. As Korean culture gains popularity worldwide, it makes them uneasy and insecure, so they start trying to make up all sorts of excuse and reasoning to claim any Korean customs and culture they covet to be theirs or at least of their origin. In the past decade, they have been claiming Kimchi, Hanbok, lunar calendar, Son Heung Min(yes, he's a soccer player), Korean letters, etc as part of their culture. It is despicable since China has been caught numerous times blatantly stealing and copying Korean music, TV programs, industrial secrets and so on. There are several copy cats of Kpop groups operating in China on a national TV currently as we speak. What's also disturbing is, Jang Won Young recently got a death threat and requested for protection from Korean police, and many think the same Chinese group is behind this as a form of retaliation. This is really sad. In the future, every time any Kpop group makes MV depicting Korean traditional theme, it's likely to be attacked similarly. This is just to let you know what's going on.
