I appreciate what you do for the reasons you mentioned. Sadly I've come to realize these 'gaps' are far from accidental. I expect most of the haters are either reacting to their own denial caused by their conditioning. As an American I can attest to this 'conditioning.' And obviously some of the haters could be coming from a place of dishonesty, in that they want those 'gaps' in our knowledge to remain. Either way, for me a lot of of the 'hate' really just reaffirms the need for this type of content. So thanks!

I don't comment often on videos, but I feel like such a video is the perfect opportunity to do so. I love your channel, it's one of a kind. You cover topics that many others don't. You take on topics that interest me, such as ethnicity, geography, vexillology, and socialism, and add an interesting perspective. You also educate people, you show them life in the USSR for the average citizens and break stereotypes that get brought up over and over again. You're perspective on these topics is filled with internationalist spirit. It even gave me new perspectives that I haven't considered before. So thanks for making these videos, keep on going strong. When we see that a better world is possible, when we see that mankind is capable of the heights achieved by our working siblings in the USSR, Maoist China and so on. It ignites fury, and a call to action. We must bring the red back into popular culture, in the intelligentsia, in the warrens. Consciousness is the first step to correct action. So many people are frustrated due to capitalism, feudalism and so on, but the communists have been dethroned from the popularity they enjoyed in progressive media in India. Everyone knew some peoples' songs. Today it is so alienating, hedonistic and opportunistic; the media that is. I feel hopeless sometimes, but I do the best I can. Thank you, so much to learn from this channel. My love and respect goes out to Historians like you and other comrades, who continue to make sure our History is not warped, our knowledge is not partial. Red salutes.

I'm not a hater and yet I'm watching this video. I think you've got a very nice outlook and idea for your channel.

I really enjoy your channel, and appreciate the work your doing. I find you take a very nuisance view, and engage with the world as it was. I would not even say your videos are overtly political or have anything to aggravate people. Some people are just afraid of having their beliefs questioned, especially if those beliefs are back by hegemonic rhetoric. While I don't believe the USSR was perfect (and from your videos, I assume you feel the same), it was an amazing project which had a great positive impact on the world. The way the USSR is discussed in western discourse is wild. It feels as if every positive source is ignored, or spoken about as people being ignorant or lying for their governments sake. During my history degree I came across multiple anti-Soviet sources which quoted even personal journals of people within the USSR talking about how their life had improved in every way, and yet the sources themselves seemed to just blatantly ignore or twist these words. People seem to get very emotional when confronted with these ideas that run counter to what that they've already been told. It's wilful ignorance in the service of capitalism, sadly.

I'm not a communist (not even a leftist) but I really like your videos. You cover interesting topics and clearly do a lot of research, I don't really get why people 'hate' you. Keep going! You're brave for offering such a different perspective than what is often told, it's commendable :)

I don't even know why people would attack your channel in specific. From what I've seen, you don't give that many of your own political opinions. It's more displaying old soviet books and knick knacks and explaining the historical context of it. If you were a channel that did the same thing with ancient Greek history, no one would even bat an eye at it. People's anti communist programming is so deep that even discussing this stuff is taboo or something. Those people prolly view it the same way as if you were showcasing N@zi stuff, which is absurd. I for one appreciate it, cuz this kinda content is what got me interested in leftist politics. I was always curious about communist countries and I found similar content and I quickly realized the soviet people were living better in the 80s than I am in the 21st century lmao. Thank you.

We all love your channel and its educational value is priceless. You are 100% correct that there is a lack of basic understanding about the USSR that is often due to immense amounts of anti-communist propaganda coming from the West, but particularly the U.S. I also try to encourage education where I can and provide reading material to those who are in need of it. The first big hurdle is breaking people out of the cold war brain-fog that still permeates many societies while also constructively handling people who are in the very early stages of the Dunning-Kruger effect. I often tell people to read up on a topic (and provide various sources) and say "the worst thing that can happen is that you will be proven correct!" Keep producing educational material. You are a much needed voice on this platform.

I got this video on my recommended. I dunno what your politics are but I absolutely love Russian history and Soviet aesthetics (particularly their brutalist architecture, I unironically love Khrushchyovkas) and I oftentimes listen to old timey soviet music from the late 50s and early 60s. Your channel covers this, it seems, and it also has vexillology which is another favorite Hobby of mine, but you also seem to like Soviet and Warsaw Pact-style flags, and all of this makes you unironically based regardless of politics, so I guess I'm gonna stick around for the ride.

I am sick and tired of our various cultures being seen as less than those from Europe or North America. YES!! It is always, ALWAYS a good idea to read and study and discuss things you disagree with. I am constantly frustrated with western propaganda being repeated uncritically by people who are otherwise my political allies, to the point where I find it's hard to criticize & learn from the actual missteps of the USSR. The baseline of information is so, so skewed. You're doing important work.

For many people in the Anglophone world anti-Russian and anticommunist attitudes are so thoroughly ingrained that any attempt to portray Russia or the USSR in another light causes reflexive anger and cognitive dissonance.

Try to remember that (1) anger motivates engagement more reliably than mild happiness or no emotional response at all, and (2) people probably would not get angry if they could offer any kind of meaningful rebuttal to your points. while i know immediate appreciation for the very important work you do would be more gratifying, you are getting under the skin of the people whose minds we need to change. an analogous situation was responsible for pulling me out of being a Christian Nationalist (our fancy new term for American fascism.) if any of those angry comments came from someone who cares about intellectual honesty, that could easily be someone whose path to communism started with you.

I like how you don't shy away from covering topics you know might get you a lot of hate. You could keep it just to daily life of Soviet peoples and their clothing which is all important work, would still get you hate but would be safer than your previous Kulak video even when you handled it without making your own opinion known. The only thing that they could latch onto was your selection of sources which you explain by presenting one side and that doesn't necessarily mean you agree with any of them. I still don't know to what extent if any from that video how radical you are on that topic and I don't care to find out, it was an interesting video. This is a good excuse for sharing a particular feeling I've had about your great work - both as a fan and as someone born in the Soviet Union and living in its remains. Being curious about USSR is very natural, yes even Soviet union had things that were positive and nothing wrong with sharing them i love researchers😉 however some of your vids on tiktok seem to have Soviet Russian propaganda undertones and that's probably what people dislike especially ones from ex-soviet republics, USSR from Russian perspective and Polish, Baltic, Georgian etc. are very different.
