UPDATE: This home has sold! Come with us on the most amazing historic home tour we've taken you on yet. There is not a drop of DIY that needs to be done here. Nothing but history, gardens and luxury await you. Real Estate prices are insane across the country, but not in the South!
What kind of home can you get for sale just under 2 million dollars in the South? This 1800s Federal Era home is a piece of history- - soon to be designated as National Historic Landmark- in pristine condition. Referred to as ''Gloucester'' (glôstər), the estate, comprised of the mansion house, dependencies, dovecots and follies sits on 5.76 acres of land in the middle of historic Natchez and also includes its own cemetery which sits on an additional 2.28 acres across the street. The initial construction of Gloucester began in 1803. Gloucester was the home to the first Governor of the Mississippi territory, and the oldest of the Natchez mansions. The home consists of Scalamandre window treatments throughout, the oldest marble fireplace in the lower MS Valley, and the original summer kitchen perfectly intact from the time period. Gloucester is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Gloucester is as grand as the great estates of England, but for a fraction of the cost. Natchez Mississippi is a wonderful home town full of southern hospitality, charm and a fabulous vacation destination.
Get a birds eye view of this amazing property. You will LOVE IT!

@@badasslove The maintenance of a landed gentry has always relied upon the exploitation of the labor of the underclasses, it is a military class that earned its position not through labor but through war. If you do not have the strength of character necessary to subdue and assert your dominion over other men, to exploit their labor for your own benefit, then you are not worthy of such luxuries. Your empathy and weakness is a cancer upon a civilization that was forged in the fires of war and the glories of conquest.

Less than 2 million for this historic home, renovated, on almost 6 acres is an INCREDIBLE price! Congrats to whoever buys it! Natchez has such a diverse collection of historic architecture and all of it quite close together. Gloucester is across the road from the most famous of Natchez buildings the unfinished Longwood and down the way from the grand cottage called Hawthorne Place. There are hundreds upon hundreds of such buildings all sitting amongst rolling hills and sunken roads with soaring vines and trailing moss, staggering bluffs and clear bayous. It's haunting.

My dream house and furnishings would be exactly like this. I know that your business is mainly restoring old homes, but would you ever consider taking a small group of old home enthusiasts like me on a 3 day (or longer) tour of these old homes built in and around a particular town or area? I live in the West, and so many of our architectural gems are being torn down every day to be replaced with strip malls, tacky apartment buildings and lots of parking lots.🤬 If a building is over 50 years old it’s considered to be ancient and ancient means “get rid of it ASAP!” Surely I’m not the only viewer on this channel that would love to go on such a tour. If you weren’t interested in such a thing do you know of organizations that do such tours?

I appreciate the acknowledgement and matter-of-fact tone you take about the fact that enslaved people lived and worked at this property, what has been preserved and what hasn't. I'm just left wondering how many people were living in those buildings and when they were converted into apartments. Having visited Monticello and Montpelier in Virginia, this house has some similar features and I'm wondering if that has to do with the school of architecture or if Jefferson was involved at all. He had an obsession with octagonal rooms.

These traditional style of homes never go out of fashion. I would never buy a modern house if I had this type of option and the money of course.
