The slope of the hood while viewing from seats inside of cab is similar to FREIGHTLINER FLC when it had aluminum hood as well as the intake piping connection to the air breathers
I own a 2018 567 daycab and I love the room in it, and I have a standard 13 speed manual in it and I can still stretch out my legs when I’m waiting somewhere.
It will take some time to get use to the new design. I'm holding on to my existing trucks. The cost of the new trucks is too high. The market unfortunately will continue to decline.
@@RockyMountainPeterbilts unfortunately for 2024 and all the transportation reports I read and talking to owner operators and small fleets many will go under.
Keith, why do some of the new 589's only have a single Clean Air Idle decal and some have two decals? Is one California and one Federal? Does it depend on whether it is a Cummins or Paccar engine?
Very good question. There are 2 emissions systems right now. EPA and CARB. EPA will cover all states this year except California. To even get into California, you must have the CARB sticker. So if you never go to CA, then the EPA sticker is fine, but if the truck will be going to CA anytime, you must have the CARB sticker as well. It costs about $3500 to get that CARB sticker, but you do get the added warranty on your after-treatment system (5 years/350,000 miles) for that added cost. So at least you get something.
If you want gauges buy a Kenworth W9 ,considering it’s the same company Paccar I wonder why they’re determined to take the traditional Peterbilt model in the lineup down this route of digitisation
Nice tractor. Is the exhaust true duals or is one side fake? I prefer the 2 peice windshield and real guages. I guess 6 is better than none. I would love to spec one for heavy in the mountains and out in the fields. I just don't have a spare quarter million right now. Thank you.
These exhaust are functional. Glad it does have the functional duals instead of being like the 567s and 579s that have the exhausts up the sides. Hate dummy stacks.
Keith. Please pass this on to the powers to be. That dash needs a complete makeover. It reminds me of an older International and Freightliner. Columbia
@@RockyMountainPeterbilts that’s what I was thinking, is it just marketing ? Does it increase fuel burn? Is it an extra cost when you order truck ? I find your videos fascinating
@jakebrake1326 my pic with my dog in it, that is my 2013 KW T660. With a crap ton of chrome on it. And yes, I can afford the chrome on it. Just like I paid 36k for a full out of frame rebuild and a whole new front end 8m ago, next! Can you afford the chrome on the Pete?
