I am thinking of all the PIMOs who are "obligated" to make public addresses in front of the Kingdom Hall audience. Exposing a subject from the top of the stage while knowing that you don't believe a single word of everything you say is real mental suffering.
Tell me about it. I got a friend that still goes and I been disfellowshipped for years. We talk practically everyday about sport family we hang out…you name it. But this guy is at the hall with his family for every meeting. He’s at the hall asking me about basketball scores and in my head I’m like “damn your a grown ass man raising a family and you can be home right now but your scared to be” terrible way to live

We left the organization but our daughter didn’t not. She wasn’t strong enough. They had discouraged her for years because she had received a scholarship and was planning on going to school to receive her bachelor of science in nursing. when we left the organization we had no idea that they were still meeting with her. We came home one day and she was gone she left everything behind last we heard she had given up her scholarship and went into the full-time ministry she was only 24 years old and she wrote us a letter telling us that we were apostates and if we wanted to see her we needed to come back to the organization. We did not and she chose to cut her ties with us. She cut off all communication with her family. We haven’t seen or heard from her in 13 years. It’s torn our family apart. The worst part is we found her on social media and were blocked, we went to the organization and they will not tell us where she’s at where she’s living even if she’s OK. We’ve come to terms that we may take our last breath not knowing or ever seeing her again. she was a beautiful girl and she was brainwashed she would’ve never did this on her own.

But you have to realize that part of their doctrine that they teach them is that there love for Jehovah should be stronger than for their parents. Matthew 10:35-38 New World Translation. They take it to the extreme. When I am sleeping I often hear her saying mom and she sounds so close and I jump out of bed and I realize that I was dreaming. And birthdays and holidays I see the tears the sadness in her dads face and the abandonment that her brothers and sister have had to endure. For the first two years after she left I slept in the living room and left all the doors unlocked just in case waiting for her to come back that I ended up having a mental break down and was hospitalized for over a year. I couldn’t eat and I couldn’t sleep I stopped functioning. Our second daughter said mom and dad you have us you can’t stop living. This organization tore our family apart they brainwashed our child. That is not from God. I’ve often wondered if they were ever support groups for families or individuals that have been affected by the watchtower society? I personally have never found any but I think that would be awesome . I’m sure you and I and our families are not the only ones. Thank You 🙏🏼

I was severely depressed ,but found bodybuilding a great release and added to my self esteem they encouraged more spiritual activity ,there was an awake article back in the 80s I think that mentioned bodybuilding ,it mentioned a verse in the Bible ,bodily training is beneficial a little but spiritual training is beneficial for all things ,and also that it can become idolizing of one's self,needles to say I gave it up and sunk further into depression,I was fit as a butchers dog and turned into a broken skeleton of a man

People with self love are harder to control, which is why all of today's (Pharisaic) Christianity rejects it. Paul's claim that exercise benefits a little is not true for today. Paul's was a agrarian society. Lack of exercise and obesity were not problems back them. Plus body building builds character. It's reality rather than Paul's words that has the final say. So go back to your gym.

Ahah you said it well ! 👍 When I was a teenager I was running for privileges, like doing the mics and the sound system. The video control at the conventions was the summit of the glory for me😄. And then I got married , we've had more than 2 children (bad !), and then I fell sick and I couldn't preach anymore ≥ 10 hours (veeery bad!) because of a chronical colon disease. Then then elders started to view us as spiritually weak people. Privileges are the carrot for donkey. They are no 'privileges' at all, these are just tasks that other people do not want to do, and they use it as a way to punish or reward people. They give, and they take back. BTW they shunned my sister who wasn't even baptized. She was 15 yo and victim of sexual harrassment from an elder who's now in jail. But at that time she was pubicly shamed for 'slander' against this brother.
I was a good son of a single Mother. I was very attentive to her, comforted her when she cried, helped her in any way I could and did absolutely everything I could to honor her. But, a group of old men in Brooklyn, New York saw it as their God given duty to demand I be shunned, for (drum roll . . .) THINKING FOR MYSELF. Disgusting. And they 'publicly reproved' Becky for doing crunches and jumping jacks. All of this is a very weird diversion tactic. What was that scripture about? 'Straining out the gnat but gulping down the camel.' They micro examine human beings thoughts and lives like creepy peeping Toms, destroy families, and to divert criticism from themselves they start punishing people for exercising and reading books.

Hi Becky, I know exactly what you are saying, i am a male and dealt with these issues when i was going to the Kingdom Hall. years ago, when i was a regular monthly field service time reporter, i also did the roving mikes during the watchtower study. At the time i was building a house, also worked a part time job. No one ever ask, Do I need help with the building of my house. NO so i had to take all the time i needed to get my family in the house and complete it. I had mist 2, only 2 times i was assign to rover the Watchtower study and had to miss 2 Meetings. What did one Elder do,,, when i came in on another meeting to do the mikes, he told me that i had miss 2 meetings that i was a sign to rover the Watchtower study and wasn't present to do the job to rover the watchtower. He Removed me from the list to rover the Watchtower study. WOW i couldn't believe it! Never ask me how i was doing on my house or trying to get your family in your new house. After that, I NEVER did anything else in a position at the Hall because i didn't what to be humiliated in front of other JW witness. Till this day i still can't believe that Elder did that and told me that couldn't do the mikes anymore right in front of other JW's at the Hall!!

So for young brothers, b/c of how they r judged to move up, it’s a big deal for them…but, u’re absolutely right, all it is, is free service, chores. It’s literally “training” vs. educating. And PLS tell me u didn’t get a “Marking Talk” b/c u loved fitness!! Wth?!
I 100% did get the marking talk yes for what they say “putting fitness ahead of god” I am a fitness trainer and my husband and I owned a fitness studio where we helped people get healthier for a decade. They had elders meetings with me monthly to try and get me to give it up, to focus more on my spirituality. The best was… my study was with us the night of the marking talk.. she never went back after witnessing that… we soon stopped going too. My three daughters and husband were disgusted over the talk..
@@BeckyOverbeck Wowzers!!! I’ve LITERALLY never heard of any publisher getting marked for an occupation. It’s not like either u or ur husband were caught smoking, getting a DUI, harmful gossip, etc. One thing I learned about being a former elder, a lot of brothers love that power. If imma be honest, it’s why many M.S want to be elders, not to help the congregation, but they love that power & recognition. It’s prevalent for many of them b/c due to a lack of education among many or the notion of putting kingdom interest first, many have secular jobs that are mundane. So when they walk in the hall, as an elder, they get to be the man, & a lot abuse power. Furthermore a lot of them are jealous hearted. I was called “materialistic” b/c I drove a nice car, although my career afforded me that life. Mind u, I was at field service faithfully, constantly doing shepherding calls, was on The HLC, never missed an assignment. Literally was counseled by the C.O & the P.O (at that time) regarding my priorities & that my car wasn’t field service friendly. I should’ve woke up then. I’m so sorry u & ur fam had to experience that. Smh

I watched your other video talking about how now that you’re no l longer a Jehovah Witness you have so much free time to do everything you want to do. Just by watching your videos I can see that you’re extreme you don’t know what moderation means you take everything to the extreme. I bet you can’t even drink because you probably would over drink? I am a Jehovah witness and I do everything I want to do and I still have time to go out in service,attend my meetings study for them,and I still go to the gym. I still have a life because I do everything in moderation I’m not extreme. I even go on vacation wow! 😱

JEHOVAH WITNESSES are not against going to the Gym ,exercises and eating correctly,I love walking, lefting weights and I have a smoothie everyday with my meals. I look half my age and it was because I took health and fitness seriously.ok ......so that not the issue. The issue is you showed no energy and passion towards your new found faith,no zeal for being in this organization and uplifting it and promoting it. You had no desire at all when it come to Jesus of Nazareth and Jehovah . You showed anyone why you became a Jehova witness.,....you could car less. You didn't want to submit to this organization with it's high standards of moral values.
Once again you’re wrong. I owned a gym, I have been a fitness coach for a decade, won fitness competitions, signed as a sponsored athlete. All while still going to meetings, homeschooling our three girls and even had a study with us the night they gave the public shaming talk. They do not like strong women. They like weak minded women who submit. They played with the wrong woman.
