This topic reminds me of a period of time I spent around the first couple of Afro American Ivy League alumni men during my senior year of high school. They interviewed me for a scholarship given by their prominent church on the Southside of Chicago. Each of the men in the group separately told me they wish they had daughters so they could make them date me. I've been told this a handful of times by the men I looked up to the most. I understood the context of what was being said, especially as they spelled out that they'd give me the keys to the nice Cadillac and have me sleep over during the weekends. I had a woman berate her daughters about not bringing me over years earlier and how she'd have made sure I spent every summer weekend with her daughters. My point is, there is an innate understanding and cultural valuing of this concept on a visceral level. I've experienced it first-hand in ways that are far past anecdotal. I had a white college teammate tell me the same thing. This is a traditional concept, akin to arranged marriage, that is definitely a viable practice if done so with great care.

Everything on Deep Thought is metaphysical. I just don't use the term that much so I don't scare people away.

Do a search on the sexual practices of different indigenous cultures. in particular look for anything related to this term, "Rites of Passage." You are going to have to really dig though. One book to look for is Indaba, My children by Creto Mutwa.

Soul Ties is the term the Christian Church would use. People in general have an idea about the imprint. They just use different terms to frame it. Then again some people are clueless.

It never ceases to amaze me how casually people in the west have come to view something as sacred as sex. In it's most primal level, it is a spiritual bond between two persons. It is the most intimate thing you can do with another human being, hense why the bible describes sleeping with someone as 'knowing' that person. The only comparable thing is being breastfed by your biological mother. 'Soul ties' are the very reason why your past sexual experiences become ingrained into your conscious forever, and you cannot help but compare your current partner with past ones. You carry a part of the other person you've slept with within you forever.
