Whoa! God is always faithful in answering my prayers. I’ve been really struggling with assurance the past few days and I didn’t sleep last night struggling with the fear of being in Hell separated from God for all eternity. I was praying for His help and answer early this morning and now BOOM! This is the second video I’ve seen in this topic today alone! I use to have this problem myself brother. But a godless man has no concerns of GODLY things. When true Christians are terrified of dying and going to hell, that's because we're saved and know it is a all to real place for the wicked. But the wicked don't worry of eternity in hell because they don't believe it is real, neither do they believe the GOD of the bible. ♥️🙏

I feel like a hypocrite sometimes when I tell people how to have peace with God through Jesus but at the same time, there is a war in my mind that is in constant fear that I’m not doing enough to go to heaven even though I know that it’s by grace through faith alone. When I’m not active in sharing the gospel, my level of anxiety overwhelms me and have no joy or peace at all since I fear I won’t be with him because of that. And when I hear godly people reminding me about salvation reassurance through faith in Jesus I have joy and finally able to live God’s peace, but suddenly I start questioning if that peace and joy come from God or me being worldly. It’s very frustrating. :-(.

Satan wants you to feel hypocritical. It's how he interferes with the gospel. Jesus already won. Just keep praising Him for HIS goodness. Jesus paid for all your sins once for all. You were not saved so long as you convert enough people or whatever. That is a works based lie.

G'day, Rhonda! "ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23) In Psalm 51, David prayed, "Restore to me the JOY of your salvation," after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband killed in battle. There IS joy in the Lord and in His salvation by grace ALONE through faith ALONE in Christ ALONE. On the other side of this proverbial coin is my journey which began a couple of years ago in late March. I was trying to focus on joy, specifically that Jesus is my joy and what that means. I kept thinking about that hymn "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and thought, "Dear God, I want to make Jesus the joy of my desiring at all times, good or bad." The woman who anointed Jesus' feet in Luke Chapter 7 was showing the joy of salvation as she had been forgiven for her sins, which were many. So I hope this helps and encourages you in some way to not feel guilty for having joy. That's the Christian life.

I struggle most with thinking I haven’t truly come to Him, like maybe I’m self-deceived. I know I can’t do anything to save myself, so I feel like I’m trapped in a vice, between my inability to do something about it, and the knowledge that I might not truly be His. Foolishly, I often look to other Christian brothers and sisters who are so zealous for God and I look at myself and it feels like for me it’s only in short bursts. I want to be more like that, but I don’t want to force it if I’m self-deceived. I want to know I’m right with God, and I see such confidence in people that is unsettles me about myself.

This describes me perfectly, except for the fact that I try saving myself by somehow mustering up faith in Christ. All I can say is seek the Lord while He may be found. You might feel like giving up on gaining assurance, but here are some promises you should hold onto: And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Rev 22:17 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:8 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. John 6:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. John 7:37 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:17 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Corinthians 6:2

I know how you feel, man. Like, is there some fine print I'm missing, so that I'm not doing it right? Am I going to get to Judgment and find some deficiency I hadn't noticed? Am I not faithing right? But here's the nice thing: Whatever the case, the answer is the same. Look to Jesus. I get discouraged when I'm looking too much at myself, and not enough at God. Not enough about how God makes it simple and easy, how he wouldn't deceive us in that, how he knows me and has compassion, and wants to save me more than I want to be saved. Christ gets glory from breaking my sin and rescuing me. He gets glory from man, but most importantly, from the Father. We have to give up looking at the things we're doing or not doing right, just completely surrender them, forget about them, and admit to God our hopelessness in ourselves. Even wondering if I'm deceived is wondering if I'm DOING something wrong. And we have to be diligent not to conflate faith and feelings. Faith is forgetting all that and *taking Christ at his word!* He said it, so just forget about your feelings and believe it: "The one who comes to me I will certainly not cast out." He's good, he's generous, he's merciful, he's truthful, he's compassionate, so take him at his word. Lord bless you, brother.

I lacked assurance until I read John Bunyan's "Grace Abounding to the Chief of All Sinners". The autobiography could have been written about me. John Bunyan came to freedom by looking at Hebrews 4:12-16, when he laid everything down at the throne of grace. Upon doing that, I realized that the promises of God are for me. Like Christian in Pilgrim's progress, the burden has been lifted, and I was freed. I now can read the Bible with so much joy, obedience is joyful, I want to learn more, I worship God freely, I find myself constantly in prayer. I can't get enough, I want nothing else, Christ is my treasure.

@josephbrandenburg4373
@josephbrandenburg4373 Год назад
It's only natural to doubt that God loves you if you think that he doesn't love most people (predestining someone to damnation is not loving). The lack of assurance and trust are the bad fruit of bad teaching. God loves everyone. Those sermons about predestination and election are deceptive. They use out-of-context Bible verses to firmly establish ideas, then they use glib excuses to escape the contradictions they create. You don't have to be a victim of the people who besmirch God's character by saying that he doesn't love everyone enough to actually save them. When you let go of the idea of individual predestination to heaven/hell, it's easier to trust God, because you don't have the troubling thought in the back of your mind - "I'm glad I was one of the lucky ones."

What I understand is - when you are elect and since all of our lives and everything here on earth has been predestined by God. If you are elect, you are bound to seek God - you will want to be with God and God will lead you to develop your relationship with him and live his will. All the things you have right in front of you is part of God's plans for you - may it be good or bad - all that has happened and will happen to you is God's way of making us understand his glory and exalt him. When Jesus died on the cross, God showed us his vast capacity to give us power, strength, love and suffering - all for the greater good - all for his glory. As to why? We are his creation - he has every right to do so - He is God. What happens to the non - elect? Our main role in life is to live the life God has pre ordained for us to live - knowing the elect status of another person is between God and that person - it's not our Business to know if they are elect or not - our Business is to be in the likeness of Christ - to share The Gospel - to please God no matter what circumstances arise - to exalt and praise him every single day - we were created to do all of that and not to determine another person's salvation. I have a daughter too - she's 10 and I don't know if she's saved or not - I can only minister and guide her on her relationship with God - I can pray to appease my anxiety of not knowing but at the end of the day - I can only rely on God's promise that he loves the world. He does love the world and he gave his son to save us. We are all in God's hands - whether you believe him or not.

There are a number of Evangelical preachers and pastors that do preach You Can Lose Your salvation I grew up in a Free Will Baptist Church that did teach this. There are other preachers or pastors that dookieshed that you can't live a completely sinless life after receiving Christ but if you sin you will lose your salvation or that you were never really truly saved. And for a long time I used to believe this I used to believe that salvation must be maintained. It took me a long time to get out of that because the pastor's would pull passages out of the Bible to prove their point and it got really confusing even though God is not the author of confusion and I heard that many times and I wondered why I was so confused about his word but I finally just accepted that Jesus has saved me and accepted me one of my favorite passages is whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved

Thank you for this video. The other day I was praying with tears, sorry for my sins, praying for other peoples salvation, and then asked God if he can reassure me of my salvation. Well that didn’t take long. Last night I had a dream I died, and my soul went up into like a white room of some sort. It was a place of conscience where believers wait until the second coming of Christ. I felt comfortable knowing where I’m going, but I was wishing that I was more effective on earth while still alive , knowing my mother is crying visiting my grave. It felt eternal. Then I wake up, thankful I’m still alive , and get a notification from this channel with this video. Thank you father God for never failing me. 🙌🏻

I know my salvation is through Christ alone and I cannot earn it. I don’t deserve it and I never can or will. Mh knowledge of these truths actually makes it a little more difficult to deal with assurance issues because only the elect go to heaven, essentially. There’s no way I can know if I’m in that group.

@@safersephiroth943 lack of assurance is the bad fruit of bad theology. You can count on God's love precisely because he isn't the kind of God who walks by (like the Levite and Pharisee) when he sees someone in trouble. He stops and helps (like the good Samaritan). He doesn't want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentence. He doesn't delight in the death of the wicked. He takes no glory in damning souls- in fact, the Bible tells us what glorifies God most in Phillipians ch. 2. It describes Christ's great humility and says "therefore God exalted him". God exalts the humble and brings low the proud. Christ's glory comes from laying down his life and taking it up again. Jesus didn't leave anyone out when he died for the world. He took on human flesh, so everyone who has human flesh shares in the offer to be reconciled to God. So you don't have to worry about not being elect. No one does.

When I was saved I remember that it was because on the previous days I was terrified of going to hell. So I prayed crying, desperate. And I remember saying: LORD, I know what your Word says about following you; that it might even cost me my life. I'm in, please count me in. I want to do anything you want. Please count me in. I believe that's repentance in way because it's intentionally giving my life to Jesus even if it means death. Submission. Ever since that day, there's been this thing in my mind like saying perhaps I wasn't saved, but then I go back to remember what the Bible says that whoever comes to Jesus He will not cast out. Sometimes my walk with Jesus feels ok, but other times when I struggle the most with sin those doubts become stronger. I do consider myself a Reformed Christian, I believe in Salvation by faith and repentance through Jesus Christ who paid my debt of sin in the cross. But sin is such a headache. There's still the battle against the flesh and against sin. Two things are what I look forward the most about Eternity with God: seeing Him and praising Him for ever. And that there will be no more sin.

@R.L.KRANESCHRADTT Год назад
@philaardsma7058, BINGO! A Calvinist hope is in if they are 'truly' picked... or not. And they can never know for sure. Their hope is not in Christ but whether or not they were Chosen before they were ever born. Because if they're not 'picked' it doesn't matter what they think about Jesus today... it may not be 'predestined' to last until tomorrow. They have no assurance. they can only measure their 'Christian' activities and hope it's enough evidence to suffice. RUN AWAY from Calvinism/Reformed theology. That's the problem. You have discovered the fly in the ointment which he's trying to ignore. Any 'former Calvinist' who has abandoned their Christianity, (and there are many), was previously just as assured of their 'election' as this man and so many others... until they abandoned their belief.... which all Calvinists would have to agree was just as much by God's decree as their previous claim to Christianity.... It's nonsense. Augustinian Total Depravity=Total Inability "from birth" is not Biblically established by an verse or passage in proper context. God saves those who will believe... and anyone can believe. That's it! God is faithful and has not withheld his mercy from anyone by virtue of their 'birth' or a decree from before they were even conceived in the womb. YOU CAN TRUST GOD... An honest Calvinist can not. Their doctrine prohibits it. If their profession of faith is only by God's decree... then those who later deny the faith also deny God.... by God's decree. Because he never really loved them anyway... If God will do that to some.... no one can ever know if he already has plans to do it to you...'Evanescent Grace' hangs over them all like the Sword of Damocles. They are encouraged to worship a God who cannot be trusted to genuinely love anyone specific individual... only the mysterious, nameless, 'elect' as they define them.

This is very dangerous, and may come with terrible consequences, so I don't recommend it. It's a really dreadful thing to presume on God's grace. But it's an enormous blessing to see that God was nevee absent even through all that time. He will sanctify you in the places where you let him work, and he won't leave you alone if you resist him in the places where you really need him. He will break you, if he has to. And that is a special blessing, but it comes through excruciating pain. All in all, it's really better to repent!

It is true that God lays down spiritual principles throughout the bible when he says, paraphrasing- "if you come, or if you do this or that, then I will do this". And thats exactly what they are.. principles. If you choose to read just those type of verses, you will always walk away thinking you`re able. Ex: John 3:16. But what do you do with the verses that say for instance, "there is none that seeketh after him". A lot of people I know confuse "principle" with "performance". In other words, they tend to see what they think is saying, that they can, and disregard the verses that clearly say, we can't. The bible does not contradict itself. Its the essence of truth. So now we know that our task is to pray for understanding to be able to harmonize these verses. Remember, we sinned, not God. And we as sinners, lost are ability to have a relationship with the Lord. It would take God himself to choose who he wants to have that relationship again with him, as we fell, and could never desire that relationship ever again. So hopefully, now you see that the only one's that will come, are the one's that God is "dragging". And yes, John 6:44 of the KJV would have been better translated "Drag". Same greek word. Nothing special about us. If God didn't drag us, we would never want God on God's terms.

The only specific people called the “elect” are Jesus Christ (Isa 42) and Israel (Isa 45). That being said, all who believe The Gospel of Christ (1 COR 15:1-4, EPH 1:12-14) are baptized into the body of Christ (1 COR 12:12-13) and sealed unto the day of redemption (EPH 4:30)… Eternally secure IN CHRIST.

The apostle Paul said the following: "For not he who commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth." 2 Cor. 10:18. There are innumerable people who will commend themselves, but the number who are commended by the Lord will be small in comparison. “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:14 A study of the parables gives a true likeness of what is to happen at the end. The good fish must be separated from the bad, the tares must be separated from the wheat, the goats must be separated from the sheep, those at the marriage supper will have their garments inspected, not to mention the wise and foolish virgins. The foolish virgins are those who did not gather oil for their lamps. The separation process is not the believers from the unbelievers, but it is of the false converts from the true; it is indeed a separation of all those within the church who believe in Christ, it is of those that have a faith that works, from those who do not.

And the people became impatient on the way. 5And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.” 6Then the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. 7And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you. Pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8And the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” 9So Moses made a bronzec serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live. Jesus refers to this. First, I’m surprised the comments are turned on. That’s very refreshing. Second, I’ve recently been moving from a missionary and evangelistic background in an Arminian style of belief and towards a Sovereign Grace theology. The Primitive Baptist faith that I am currently embracing teaches that salvation is solely of God. It doesn’t require the efforts of man in anyway. This reliance upon the unchanging nature of God provides that assurance of salvation that is lacking when someone believes that they must accept Christ and perform good works to gain eternal salvation. That also makes the Bible not a means of salvation but a book of instruction and exhortation to the believer. That’s why these old sermons that are full of scripture quotations are so wonderful because they instruct and exhort and assure the believer about the promises of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) 16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

I’m reading through Romans right now and I came across the idea of the vine and Gentiles being grafted in. But then it says something along the lines of “but if God has cut off the natural branches, wouldn’t he even more cut off you after you are grafted in?” (that’s my paraphrase). So you are grafted in (become a believer) and then you can still be cut off again. That seems like it’s is saying you could possibly lose your salvation, right? I had read that passage many times before but now I’ve decided to go through scripture slowly… and I’m seeing things like that I’ve never paid attention to before.

i think it parallels Hebrews 10:26-28, like backsliding into worldliness and willfully going on sinning without caring to repent. But I’m not 100% sure though, I’m still learning as well

@@a.kamileon n Romans 11:11-24 Paul compares Israel to the natural branches of a cultivated olive tree and the Gentile believers to the branches of a wild olive tree. The natural branches (Israel) were broken off, and the wild branches (Gentiles) were grafted in (verse 17). The Gentiles, then, have been made partakers of the promises and inherit the blessings of God’s salvation. It is important to understand how God called Israel to be His people and how they failed to fulfill that calling. As the seed of Abraham, the children of Israel were chosen by God to be a separate people, holy to the Lord. God’s design was for them to be a light to the Gentiles so that they, too, might know God (Genesis 18:17-19; Isaiah 42, 49). Instead, the Israelites chased foreign gods and betrayed their calling (Ezekiel 23; Hosea 11). But God, who knew they would do this, had already promised to restore His kingdom to Israel after they rebelled and then eventually repented (Deuteronomy 30:1-10). So God sent His Son, preceded by a forerunner, to invite Israel to “repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2; 4:17). However, when Jesus revealed Himself as the promised Davidic King who would restore Israel (Matthew 11-12; Acts 3:19-22), He was rejected by the Jews, exactly as Isaiah had prophesied (Isaiah 52-53). Jesus therefore called His disciples to fulfill Abraham’s commission to bless the nations (Genesis 12:2-3) by preaching the gospel of the Kingdom to all nations until the end of this age (Matthew 28:18-20). Paul thus preached the gospel of the Kingdom to the Jews and was repeatedly rejected (Acts 13-28); in consequence, Paul brought the good news to the Gentiles, who in turn became Abraham’s spiritual seed by faith and heirs of the promises to Abraham and his seed (Galatians 3-4). This is what Paul meant in Romans 11 by the Gentiles being “grafted” into the “olive tree” and nourished by the “root” (the promises to Abraham). The tree thus signifies the collective people of God; the “wild branches” grafted in are Gentile believers; the “natural branches” that are cut off are the Jews in unbelief. Jewish believers remain in the tree but are joined with Gentiles and “made” into a “new body,” the Church (Ephesians 2:11-22). Paul anticipated a question that would surely arise among his Gentile readers: “I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall?” (Romans 11:1)-Gentile believers would be tempted to dismiss Israel because it appeared they would never recover. Even today, there are those who advocate supersessionism or replacement theology, which holds that the Church has completely replaced Israel and will inherit the promises to be fulfilled only in a spiritual sense. In other words, according to this view, ethnic Israel is forever excluded from the promises-the Jews will not literally inherit the Promised Land. What then would happen to Israel? What about the Old Testament prophecies that Israel as a nation would repent and be re-gathered to the land in the last days as a permanent possession (Deuteronomy 30:1-10)? Romans 11 thus conclusively shows Gentile believers that God is not yet “done” with Israel, who has only temporarily lost the privilege of representing God as His people. Since “the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable” (11:29), “all Israel will be saved” in order to fulfill God’s covenant with ethnic Israel (11:25-28), including the promise of land inheritance (Deuteronomy 30:1-10). While the “natural branches” were cut off because Israel failed, God’s purposes are not complete until Israel is also grafted back into the people of God to share in the promises to Abraham and his seed. This brings full circle God’s larger redemptive plan (Romans 11:30-36) for both Jews and Gentiles as distinct populations within the people of God in the Davidic (or Millennial) Kingdom. Indeed, the prophets saw this Kingdom as the “final form” of the olive tree, so that Israel-reversing roles-would then bless the Gentiles, enabling them to join the people of God (see Zechariah 8:13, 20-23).

You're missing some very important context (which incidentally cuts the legs out from under the whole idea of individual election). Romans 9-11 is a passage explaining why God, who elected the Jews, is giving the gospel to the Gentiles (the non-elect), and the Jews are disbelieving in their own Messiah. It's not really about individuals. So it's probably not a good idea to think that the branch being cut off is a reference to individuals, since that contradicts so much of the rest of Romans. It's about the Jews and the Gentiles.

If anyone is planning to sin for pleasure and doesn’t fear God and doesn’t repent and they just go on then for sure they are not of God, never have been born again, in desperate unfaithfulness and unbelief, angry towards God or has chosen to be a natural man and renounce service to the Lord. If one has sinned and repents as in admitting the act or admitting cherishing the wicked thoughts and imagination and ask the Lord for cleansing and help to overcome these works of the flesh the person will witness the faithfulness and justice of Jesus Christ.

This seems to be a common theme on this channel I.e. evangelicals having no assurance of salvation. This is primarily for two reasons. 1. Credobaptism not only brings no assurance, it does the opposite as for the Baptist, baptism is something I’m doing For the Lord that I must live up to. For the paedobaptist, the Lord is blessing me in baptism and bringing me assurance. 2. This is what happens when you listen to JMac and Washer preach Lordship salvation. Nothing could be more soul crushing and assurance destroying than telling Christians to trust in their own works for assurance of salvation

Neither Paul Washer nor John MacArthur have ever said we are saved by our works. Please examine yourself and make sure that you are in the faith. God does not want true believers to be divided by doctrines which greater men of God than I, have agreed to disagree on.

These are the verses that settled my soul.Thank God for his word and his faithfulness to it. Rom 4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: Rom 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Rom 4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Rom 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Rom 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

I was a wild child. I grew up in a Christian home, but I was sort of rebellious. I started reading the Bible and really studying it when I was about 14.. I always loved the Lord, but I was wild and didn't really settle down until I received the Holy Spirit when I was 45. Still to this day, I feel so badly about treating the Lord the way I did knowing better. I know He forgave me. However, I still have a habit I have to conquer. I cry a lot about it. But has blessed me so much and I know He loves me almost 79 and Iam growing in love with Jesus more and more. He has always helped me in so many ways, I cannot count. Please pray for me.
