I was obsessed with Paul Norman's Forbidden Forest back in the day - So much so, that I picked up Aztec Challenge, Caverns of Kafka and the superior sequel, Beyond The Forbidden Forest!! Cosmi was easily my favourite publisher for a while, just because of his really original games and style. His Music compositions were also really good for the time.
First game I ever played on a C64, back around 1985 when my elder brother lent me his machine and this game. Needless to say, I had no idea what to do and kept getting gibbed by the spiders :) And absolutely classic C64 music.
Also had this game when I was young. After a while I could finish it in about 5 minutes, so I lost interest. However, that soundtrack was awesome! The ghost and skeletons stage was my favorite.
Impressive that it support parallax scrolling as well as the large sprite rendering. The collision detection is questionable of course. Especially with the skeleton foes. 🕹️☠️
People in the Year 5000: "Here we have a common video game that was played by cavemen. The cavemen loved this game because it reminded them of the hunt."
