This alone is probably the only reason to boot up Tokimeki memorial, Its really impressive that the pc-engine can handle the massive screen filling sprites like those attack carriers that show up in 1:33 , assuming that its with the help of the cd-rom attachment despite the game's ost uses the pce's normal sound hardware
Did you know that Force Gear can be played as a secret game/Easter egg on Konami's PC Engine Mini? In the PC Engine Mini menu, scroll the square cursor until it highlights Tokimeki Memorial. Then, press the Select button. You will hear a chime sound after pressing Select. Next, press the Run button. If done correctly, you will be playing Force Gear instead of Tokimeki Memorial so you don't have to unlock it in Tokimeki Memorial to play the game. Unfortunately, this game is only on the Japanese PC Engine Mini since both the TurboGrafx-16 Mini and the PC Engine Core Grafx Mini do not have Tokimeki Memorial.
Haha When the gradius core ships come, I was able to shoot them quick and I think 5 in total can come and that gives quite a good bonus. But the bit with the claws that clamp together seems to be quite a low scoring area, so I assume there must be some sort of bonus area there.
If you pay close attention at the 1:31 mark my there is a "shoom" sound and my score gets boosted by like 100k, I achieved this a few times it's because I completed the wave of enemies by killing them with the force and not shooting them, got a huge multiplier, it's really hard to do, and there are several places you can do it at. This game is the most complex 3 minute game ever, I wish Konami would have made a full game, as its frigging awesome!
@@DigiPen92 nope I have a turbo duo R, the mini looked cool, but having duplicates of the same game just in another language felt like a waste of money.
@@DigiPen92 well isn't it really like 28 games cause of the dupes. I have a majority of the games yeah, dont have sapphire and splatterhouse. No snatcher unfortunately would have love to play that on the mini if it was translated. Oh and I don't have valkyrie, sapphire is a huge draw though.
