@Schöner Albtraum depends. Sometimes that's the right move. Sometimes that's preferable. Maybe even lots of times. Heck... maybe even most times. If we are talking always/never sort of talk... that's not a thing. That's a thing only an idiot would say. If we are talking about skipping lessons on mechanics with a beginner and saying "just charge bro" than they are also an idiot who doesn't understand how people learn and develop skill. If that's their personal preference based on their own skillset and experience... sure... sounds good to me.

This is great content. What you teach also lines up with what I've heard from special forces trainers. Why I love about your content is you give a "why" as to the reason for what you're doing, and for me that just helps drive a point home. Definitely have to look into getting one of those training pistols. One more thing, how do you feel about using a laser sight on a pistol. The main advantage I've heard is being able to fire from unorthodox shooting positions
@hard2hurt
@hard2hurt Год назад
I have no real experience with lasers. I've maybe played with one once or twice at a range. It's very rare that you need to use an unorthodox shooting position that would require you to be able to see your target but not be able to use your sights.

Question for Mike, when Seth is taking cover from behind the car. Why would he try to peek you if you already have the gun on him? Wouldnt it be better for him to hold an angle and wait for you to pass into it?
@hard2hurt

Because successfully counterfighting requires lots of skill and experience. Same as boxing, mma etc... getting beginners to be aggressive and proactive while observing fundamentals is always the first order of business.

If we're talking real firearms, the cover Seth had was marginal (but the best he could get). Bad Guy Mike could blast rounds through the car and hit him without passing into view. Not to mention getting flanked because he ran around the other side of the car.

I practiced catching blowback pistol in short range. As well as my friend karate champion was surprised as well as police man asking me how did you know catch it like this? It was once in 2008 and not very far from now. Last toy tool we use was glock plastique ball spring engined toy. I use my left hand when attacker carry it in his right. It gives me opportunity to do two moves either swing the hand one or a other side. Main goal is to give a shot with lock blowback which should jam the pistol another action if attacker is smaller we can try swing his arm and release pistol. As I would act those two scenarios will make sense in 10-20% of situations. It is not real amount of situations it may just picture how do I think any of those applies might be used. As many other defense against, best eay is to try to survive alive which means run hide run hide, be safe.

I think that`s the thing even in training, if you get hit, you don`t give up, yeah on one hand for the purpose of getting more training in but also if you get hit in real life almost anywhere there is no way to tell if you are instantly out or not. Let`s say you get hit in the lung, you could just be out by shock, to be fair almost everyone would probably just drop from shock, but if you are not instantly out THAT is the moment to double down, because in a few seconds you WILL be out and if the other party wants to kill you, you are now dead either way.

I wonder how every other store in this Plaza feels about the self-defense guy shooting pepper balls at his buddy in their parking lot.

what's the difference between the brands of guns your using to the byrna models? can the ones your using be used same ways, used in all states, no issues carrying over state lines, and trying to compare. same power or better? thanks

It always makes me happy seeing people pepper sprayed or maced having had to go through the gas chamber as many times as I did. I don't think cs is as bad as mace but suck it nerds you must suffer as I have suffered.

Dude, the very first time I went to play paintball, my cousin and I (our families were really close growing up) were able to talk our dads into going with us. As we were driving to the location (an in-ground warehouse with loud music and very little lighting) I remember us all talking about not wanting to get shot in the nuts. Well, 3 of the 4 of us actually did get some degree of nut shot. And though we were all on the same team, I startled my dad around a corner and he panic squeezed the trigger, tagging me directly in the frank & beans. I went down, lifted my gun up, and tagged him in the forehead as payback. It was seriously one of the funniest damned things I've ever been a part of. There were about 5 other people who saw everything happen and everyone was just dying laughing. After that, I leaned to wear some protective equipment for the boys & bits.

I don't care if it's in a parking lot outside Wendy's on a busy Saturday, if some headcase with a gun had me pinned down behind a car and he's out in the open? He's getting at least a half dosen blindfires before I peek him.

Do they sell an oc/cs round in the 0.50 caliber for these? These seem to be the best option up to the expensive and large byrna option

honestly dont know why americans thing guns are always the answer. surprisingly, not everyone is american so we dont have guns, in scotland and other countries wepons in general are illegal. you can have a manual folding knife under 3 inches but that is it. i keep one in my wheelchair bag as i open a lot of stuff and knowing i have it there does help me feel safer as i am too weak to really fight back and people in wheelchairs get attacked but you cant exactly get that out quickly when under attack. you should get creative and fnd techniques that everyone can use that dont involve stupid guns

Am I the only one who thinks it's hilarious that he uses the phrase "this is a game of inches" immediately after getting shot in the gentleman bits? Also, if some dude is walking at me in my car with a gun, I feel like the smart move is to slap it in gear and mash the loud pedal.
