I love the fact that my lil sis still calls this show "Film Ryan."

That joke at the beginning was so "forced."

I LOVE film riot and all their tutorials, and no question that this person teaching is incredibly talented, I just find it frustrating that for this one effect, it requires a $400 dollar 3D software, a $200 dollar tracking software, and a 3D model made by one one of the best editors out there....make no mistake, I am really appreciative to see how professionals do their work, but I miss some of the old Film Riot where there are incredible effects done with little to no budget instead of with a $500+ dollar budget. I hope that as film riot grows it will still at least have a few tutorials that don't require a lot of expensive plug-ins... That said, we're all getting these videos for free, so Film Riot, thank you so much for anything at all! And keep making videos!

what about a small force push? it's one thing to make the cut between parked car and no car- but a little realistic bump to the side seems tough, especially if the tires are kept in frame. any suggestions?

Awesome! Inspired me to learn how to Roto! Cannot find pricing on The Foundry's Cameratracker. As for the Force push, that was more like a Force, Bat it out of the Park! But along the lines of a push, now I have an idea to make rubber skid marks as the car is pushed off the driveway. And for it to leave little trenches where the tires dig into the grass. So I was thinking more of a "I just learned how to use The Force" effect. Still...way cool to see that SUV fly.

What ruins the effect for me is how obviously the trajectory of the car differs from the horizontal force push. I expected the car to slide to the side and tip over, maybe even flipping over several times. But since there was no reason for any upward motion due to the push being horizontal, my brain instantly screamed fake, even though the compositing was done well.

Hey, I got a smith victor light, it's the 500w a120 bulb one and I am having a tough time finding what bulbs go in this. I also want to experiment with different color temperatures so does anyone know where i can find a variety of bulbs and how I know the socket will fit the fixture?

Always cool VFX episodes. It'd be cool to figure out a way to do this practically. (Obviously not pushing it into the air, but back out of the way.)

I usually just animate in premiere, but I NEED to get good with AE because this was awesome!
