I have the 5.5 inch Old Hickory Hunting Knife that I wrapped with a white vinegar micro fiber clothe. Patina came out fantastic. I love that knife!

Turned out nice! I have done this before but used a different method though pretty much same idea, I mixed ketchup and mustard on both sides of the blade, wrapped it in paper towel and plastic wrap to keep it from drying out. I let it set for about 12 hours, turned out darker, I lightly buffed it out with 0000 steel wool and oiled. The design on mine was from mustard and ketchup being mixed plus towel helped with the mixing. I will try your method next time because it looks nice and you controlled the design. Also amazing how well this helps protect knife from rusting.

I did my mora knife Just by letting it sit in some vinegar. It came out really nice and dark. This Old Hickory I did and gave to my son for Christmas. Then I did another Old Hickory for myself. Old hickory's fit inside the kabar sheath very well .
